Does anyone here know anything about this trailer? If you have one, any regrets/praises? Thanks in advance.

Pinlock insert lens work very well. They put a pocket of air between it & your face shield as well as absorb moisture. They make them to fit several types of helmets. I use them on my Shoei X11.

Same here. On all counts. Bought mine in May of 2006.

WANT TO TALK TO ANOTHER BIKE w/o AUDIO
awsmsrv replied to TESchoener's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
My wife & I got this as well. Works very well. Since my Blackberry has voice dialing, I can even call her while I'm riding without fumbling with the phone. It sits in the trunk. She says she can't hear anything but my voice, no wind, bike engine, nothing else. It's great. -
George, wouldn't this work? Place your bike 12.5 feet from the wall & adjust the headlight to just 1 inch below center. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm not thinking straight.

Take a look at these pics. This guy looks much more comfy. AVA Voyager 1700 Pics The guy on Kawasaki's sight must be a giant.

Has anyone here tried to use a magnetic switch to turn on a light installed in the trunk of their RSV? The light would come on when you open the trunk & turn off when closed. I already know about Dot-It lights & similar items, but am interested in a permanent solution. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, it got my attention, too.

I've thought about using these to replace the LEDs in the trunk wing light. Just don't know if they'll fit or not. I think they will.

fall morning, rethinking ClearView ouch
awsmsrv replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
OK, I have the medium Clearview w/vent & I love it except it's still a little too tall for me & I'd dearly love to cut it down by about 1.5", but I don't have the equipment to do this. Is there anyone near me that could help me with this? Or point me towards a shop that could do it? Thanks in advance. -
Anyone carry spare key on cycle?
awsmsrv replied to jryan's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I carry a spare in my pants pocket. Don't want someone to "accidentally" find it "hidden" on the bike. -
Yes they do, but mine weren't lined up properly when I bought my bike, so I adjusted them once I discovered it. At first they folded out to the side. One thing that bugs me is the shoddy workmanship these days. Just do it right the first time & save everyone the trouble, is all I ask. (OK, I'm through).

RSV Seat Questions or Maybe Pants?
awsmsrv replied to ebat's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Yes, it's very sturdy. Being about 5'11" & 155 I'm not the biggest fish in the sea, but yes, I can lean back into it just fine. It flexes with you a little. At first, I felt it pushing me forward a bit, but then I removed the screws from the stem & reversed the position of the backrest to the backside of the stem & reattached. Now it's great.- 27 replies

RSV Seat Questions or Maybe Pants?
awsmsrv replied to ebat's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I've done 850 miles in a day & felt pretty darn good. I have the pillow seat & Diamond R backrest. I also have kevlar mesh pants & jacket, so they breathe really well. I almost felt like going another 150 miles just to go 1000. Get the backrest, you'll love it.- 27 replies

Hey Don, did this go anywhere? Still very interested.

Do you use all 3 FM bands? I have the 1st one set for local stations, the 2nd one set for stations at our "get-away-from-it-all" place & leave the 3rd one for when I'm out of the area. You can have it find the 6 strongest stations automatically.

Good to hear you're good to go for the most part. I have a matching "design" on the OTHER side of MY fairing (from a drop a couple years ago). It also left a small crack @ the outermost screw on the inside of the fairing. Don't know if I'll try to fix it or replace it someday. Replacement ain't cheap. Take care.

I've also punched the holes in the filler tube & average 5.5 gallons per fill-up, once did 5.85. I don't know about anyone else, but I can smell the gas when it gets really low, too. I don't smell it any other time. Anyone else ever notice that?
