  1. Well you are all wrong! You should drain the tank and leave the gas cap off. That was whatever you miss will evaporate. Then run the bike until there is no fuel left in the carbs. then since the oil is still warm drain it all out and save it to use the next time you ride. You can carry the oil in your house and that way it won't get any water in it to boil off. Or if it does you can just put it on the stove in a pan and heat it up a little and the water will go away. Now if you're going to let it sit up more than a week then it's a different story and a lot more work. If you think this is serious then you are off your meds. :0)
  2. I just checked on having mine serviced. Like you said $150 flat fee. Mine works fine but is slow coming up. Don't know what to do with it. If I upgraded to the 660 will it dfo the same in a few years?
  3. I am going to buy a windshield from clearview and was wondering if the sealant around the vent they put in for you yellows after a while. Thanks for the response.
  4. He is one lucky guy!! God must not be through with him yet. :0)
  5. For those of you who don't carry concealed see the 1st post. This ? was for those that do carry. So... You are tresspassing!!! :0) I carry all the time on my person. I've seen what those nice "Safe" places can turn into in a matter of minutes/seconds. I'd carry and leave it in the car. Never be without your sidearm unless you just have to. I have a fire ext in my kitchen and hope I never have to use it, but it's there if I need it. You get the picture. check out the web page opencarry.org and see what you think. Oh yeah, I open carry to, and no I'm not a cop. Flame suit on. :0) BTW You would be surprised how many people carry concealed.
  6. I don't think you would need a 50 amp. That's more than the bike alt puts out. I know that's how a lot of folks do it. however I put the "switch" under my seat because I only wanted mine for emergencys. I put a connector on each end that I could connect. No switch but there if I need it.
  7. I have th venturedad hitch. works great and it's made by one of our own. I've pulled a trailer but no cooler (hitch haul yet) I have one buy havn't put the lights on it. I believe when I put a cooler on it the lights will be hidden.
  8. A helicoil is a piece of cake to do. The price you found is way to much. The whole kit should be under $50 anywhere. You get the correct drill bit, an installer tool, and several "coils". What this does is remove the original threads then you thread the hole with the enclosed tap. Then use the special tool to install the new threads that are made of steel. It sounds more complicated than it is. Check out this link for more info. http://www.helicoil.com.sg/HeliCoil-Installation-Instructions.htm
  9. For another opinion it's best to turn off all the water at the main valve in addition to the suggestions that have already been made. Those pesky feed lines under the sinks, toilets, and dishwasher etc can cause problems to.
  10. I used to sell guns and a guy brought in a Charter Arms bulldog. The 44 special. It looked much the same but didin't have and cartridge remains in it. I sent it back to Charter for him as I wouldn't replace the pistol. They said they ran every test they had on it and determined that it wasn't the gusn fault. However in the interest of customer relations they replaced it.
  11. Look here. Some of the guys I work with use these to secure their tools while climbing. http://www.cetaceacorp.com/tool-tethers-c96.html
  12. There he goes again .....I'm outta here........
  13. Just wondering if the vent will leak during the rain.
  14. I would suggest to do nothing but wait a few months. Right now the "skip" is working. Skip is a term that describes how usually short range radios, due to weather, reach long distances. I was on my bike yesterday and it was awful. The Venture "hears" well. This skip cycle will not last long and you should be back in business. This advice is coming from a ham operator with many years of experience. Hope this helps.
  15. I've always static balanced my bike tires and they've worked fine. However I need to know a good way to balance my 8 inch trailer tires. Any ideas?
