  1. I have already lowered the front end on my RSMV and the handling is satisfactory. But now I am coming up on time for new tires. I have been thinking in going with either the original Dunlop replacements or Elites...... What I have doubts about is the front......Should I stick to the 150 or go with a 130?????? Looks wise, I would think it makes little difference ....but I wonder about the handling........
  2. I just ordered a new Commander II along with a new Dunlop E-3 to replace my existing E-3's as Michelin doesn't make a 150 for the front. Anyone done this yet? Ron
  3. Well the high 90 and 100 temps drop so I had to get out and ride. I rode down 37 to Bedford Indiana. Took 450 over to Shoals then U.S. 150 to Paoli . Then took 56 over to Salem. Then 135 back to Indy. https://vimeo.com/48115377
  4. http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn195/xxMPWATERDAWGxx/642463327_2297045414_0.jpg Picked this up yesterday. The guy used it as a tag a long, but it still has all the camper parts with it. I pulled it about 150 miles back home. First time pulling a trailer too, and it was a really good experience.

    Mm #150

Hey, did anyone on here own serial number 150? PM me please if you did.
  6. Hi, I own a 2004 RSV and was wondering if the RSV is good to cruise at say 140KPH or 150 KPH all day long kind of thing. It's a purely subjective question but when I had my 1800 Wing it could cruise all day long at 150 160 KPH no problem. All comments are welcome. Thank you in advance. Chris in Red Deer, AB
  7. With the Zumo 550. This one needs to be sent in for repair . Its 150 to fix it. Anybody wanting to get a deal on a Zumo 550 PM me. I'll sell this one for 150 and that includes shipping. Will send both mounts also. That will get you a Zumo 550 for 300. I'm beginning to see a need for a bigger screen and that's pretty much the decision maker for me.
  8. I have these forsale in the classified section for 150 bucks. It is good price for the pipes, brackets and clamps.
  9. I really don't understand all the comments about the kumho on a Venture. I know that 150 miles isn't much of a test run ( compared to 1000 miles or so) but I can hardly tell there's something different on the rear of the bike. I know I don't ride like some on here, I'm really laid back and the 150 miles we rode today took almost 5 hours including a nearly 1 hour stop for lunch and ice cream. I guess in my part of Ohio we are blessed with miles and miles of state and county roads that have twisties as well as some pretty nice hills and can be biked at 30 to 50 mph without the fear of being run over by traffic. Bottom line, the Kumho will probably develop dry rot before it wears out
  10. Our local CMA chapter had a great day of riding and fellowship, and raised some money for a good cause. We had approximately 20 bikes and couldn't have any better weather for riding. Rode a familiar 150 mile loop that I've used during the Skid-In 2009.....
  11. It is 77F here, and not a cloud in the sky. A tad breezy, but riding without heavy gear and feeling warm is so nice. Sat on the cafe's patio, had a great burger and something hoppy. You could tell everyone was enjoying Global Warming... so many smiles, and so many short skirts. But, I had an appointment to see the doctor on my day off. 1:45PM. Just the right time to prevent a nice "there and back" ride today. I called at 12:30, because I wasn't sure if it was 1:30 or 1:45, and learned they'd set me up with the doctor I disliked. We rescheduled for Monday. So I missed a good long ride for nothing. Coulda put on 500 miles today instead of 150. Still, it's hard to complain about 150 miles in the most perfect weather you are likely to see, in January. Thanks for listening. Hope it's just as nice where you are. Dave
  12. Hi everyone, I am so excited to have found this site. I just picked up my new 2007 RSTD (left over model) from the dealer about 2 weeks ago. I think I have about 150 miles on it. I have the pipes removed, and tomorrow am going to try to make them louder. Any suggestions? My goal is to make them almost as loud as I can. THANKS!!!!
  13. It is going to be a great riding day today. Around 9 or so I am going to be heading out and about and if anyone within say 150 miles of Fayetteville (NC) wants to meet up for coffee I'd be all for it!
  14. Disclaimer: This is just my opinion. Yours may vary...... After running the 150 front for years last summer I finally went and tried the 130 front tire when I needed replacement. After a year of use all I can say is that I am not too happy with my decision. Sure, the steering is easier at low speeds but I also feel like im going to drop the bike in turns. Also I have no confidence at speeds over 85 with the 130. Bike just dont seem as stable at high speeds then it did with the 150. On the interstate I like to run up to 90 on occasion or higher. Im scared poopless now anywhere near that figure. Even my wife noticed my concerns. And shes usually asleep back there..LOL. Next replacement im going back to the 150.
  15. We are heading to Snowshoe again this year next weekend. Looking for places of interest. We have been to Cass Railroad, Greenbank, New River Bridge and several other places. We always ride Rt 150 as well. What's north of Snowshoe heading up Rt 219? What else is in the area to check out? Thanks. Spotsy
  16. There is a new vehicle that is about to hit the U.S. market next year called the Loremo, which stands for Low Resistance Mobile. It is a German design that was built on seeking the following criteria, engine efficiency, low weight (might be tough is the Northern climates or windy parts of the country), and minimal drag efficiency. The car gets between 130 to 150 miles per gallon and is expected to hit the U.S. market for sale sometime next year. Base price of the first model is pegged at $22,000 which makes it very affordable. Below is a site where you can check out the car and multi paged article about it. Site also has several pictures as well. So...read the article and tell us what do you think? http://editorial.autos.msn.com/article.aspx?cp-documentid=457882
  17. It's January 6th, 75 degrees and the wife & I just got back from a 150 mile ride. Life is Good...
  18. After 2 months without riding I finally got the bike out on a nice ride tonight. The bike ran perfectly, until I went to make my first turn with the 130 front tire. After running the 150 for years I kinda got used to wrestling the bike into low speed turns. Well, at the first intersection I came to I strong armed the bike into position and almost flopped it. I just cant believe how different and effortless, compared to the 150, the steering has become. I even spooked my wife. She kept asking if I could handle it. I guess it'll take a few days of riding to get used to the new feel. I sure felt like a rank beginner......
  19. After owning my '85 for about two years, I finally have it on the road (put on about 3000k) and it seems to run fine, but I don't have anything to compare the performance to as this is my first bike. Power wize I don't seem to have a problem overtaking a friend's '04 V star 1100. I do seem to have a weak #1 cyclinder because if I take off the spark plug wire at idle, there is no RPM change. I know it fires because if that is the only plug wire attached the cyclinder does fire. I did a compression test and it came in at just 130 (after 10 cranks) and up to 150 with some oil. The others seem to be at 150 -160 after only a few cranks. I checked valve clearance and they are right on. I'm thinking the rings are the problem. I read somewhere on this forum about using Sea Foam in the oil for sticky rings. Does this work? I think the bike sat for a number of years so it could be the problem. Is there any suggestions to trying this before I pull it apart?
