1. It is windy and feels like 17°F. Snow tomorrow. It will be in the mid 20's for a high for the next 2 or 3 days. This afternoon, I plugged my RSV battery on trickle charge. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/01/05/72ff461ad8047aba8010ff8e039022f7.jpg
2. Boy, am I lucky!!! No surgery, not buried by snow, AND tomorrow I'm going to pick up my new used 2007 RSV. Boy, am I lucky!!! Rode a 1984 VR until 2004, have been on a VSTAR 650 since then. I can hardly wait to get those 4 cylinders going under me again. Boy, am I lucky!!! Lots of things different on the RSV, but also lots of the same with the power, smoothness and the feeling of wanting to ride from sunup to sunset. Boy am I lucky!!! Temp. here in Indy is supposed to be around 50 degrees F tomorrow PM. Boy, am I lucky!!!
3. Hello All, Quick question and background. Son rides a valkyrie. We just went thru all 6 carbs and reinstalled... REAL pita to reinstall airbox runners onto top of carbs. We reinstalled and cranked up and have a low idle issues that we believe to be an air leak, further investigation tomorrow. Now for the question, one of his forum buddies we visited had a fuel "bag/cell" hanging from the ceiling with a hose and pinch clamp to run bike without the tank on... Great idea huh. Have any of you made one and if so, out of what with what??? Wanting to make one tomorrow that I will use also on RSV when finished. (torn apart now) Give me ideas... hose, check, clamp, check, bottle.... woops. I need a fuel resistant IV bag! Ideas anyone? thanks for the help, James:biker:
4. In two days I've clocked 888 miles for the new year, I'm going riding tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday. the bike rides like a New Bike. I'm loving it.....
5. BIG TOM

s****

During this holiday season I have to work 2 days.........tomorrow and Friday...... Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow..........12 to 15 inches of snow tonight with an additional 1 to 3 tomorrow.................. I HATE S***......
6. Three weeks ago, I only rode 3 times. Two weeks ago, I rode twice. Last week, I only rode once. This week, no chance. This weather on our area is driving me nuts. Snow is in the forecast for tomorrow. Highway crews salted the roads yesterday. Tomorrow, I may have to plug in the battery on the trickle charger.
7. Hello again. I have chosen tomorrow, of all days, to take my newly purchased 2003 RSV, on a field trip. Headed to hilton head, SC. Just an overnight trip. Riding solo but packing stuff to get used to the handling with weight in the bags and trunk and top. Approx. 725 miles round trip. For some of you that's miles you put on in one day. For me it's a real luxury lately to have days off. That's said, I will report once there and the return trip how it went. ( that is of course if we are not doomed courtesy of the Mayan calendar prophecy ) Still a bit nervous due to me being very new to bike and how she handles. On a separate note, the custom dynamics tail light came in and I chose the 100 LED. Boy oh boy, is it BRIGHT. If you can not see those babies, you shouldn't be anywhere inside a vehicle... Have a great day:Venture:
8. I'll be off to the hospital early tomorrow for a total knee replacement. After dealing with knee pain for the past 8 to 10 years I'm looking forward to getting this done. Not looking forward to the rehab but at least it will be done in the winter and shouldn't impact my riding much. Glad they've got wifi in the hospital. Dennis
9. I have read some old posts about center stands but nothing lately. I found this site that sells a stand but they claim it only works on models 99-06. Of course I have a 07. I’m going to give them a call tomorrow and see if that may a misprint as I would think they would all be the same. Does anyone have some feedback on the subject? http://www.buckeyeperformance.com/products.htm
10. http://www.extremesportsyamaha.com/default.asp Exttreme Sports Yamaha-Sumter December sale today & tomorrow I got an email from Extreme Sports Yamaha in Sumter. Their semi-annual sale is today and tomorrow (Nov 30 & Dec 1). They are open till 6 tonight and 9-3 Saturday. Nice time to pick up some bling before Christmas. Oh, and this is a great dealer,,, not a stealer. I try to give them recognition when I can. Mike G.
11. Ok... Leaving for home tomorrow, but have a "noise" coming from where the gear oil is housed in... I heard the noise on Saturday... Took it to a dealer in Wichita, KS. by the time he test drove the bike the noise went away. The noise came back the next day and has been getting worse. Today I am in Custer, SD And we are heading home tomorrow... And now the noise is worse. A buddy felt the housing where the spline is at and could feel the sound. It is a clicking sound... Almost like a baseball card on spokes (just not as loud). I need to know what are the possibilities? If it needs gear oil, how to add more... And what weight oil do I need and anything else I might could use... I do NOT want to be stranded here and there is no BIKE shops here. Thanks for the QUICK help! Wally
12. We are heading out tomorrow afternoon from the ATL to PCB for the Fall Thunder Beach rally. The weather forecast is stellar with mid-80's and sun predicted every day. Got a steal of a deal at a very nice beach front condo for $80/night. Sharing with 2 other couples, so it's easier on the wallet this year. Should be a great week and weekend. Hope to see some RSV's there
13. Not that we went anywhere ....but were back home. Didn't talk about the trip openly as I know folks would be wanting to see us. Went north to marry my Dad off, and it was a great wedding. Thank you to all the folks that we were able to see for their hospitality. It was one hell of a trip, 3700 miles in total. Now back to work tomorrow so I can pay for it all
14. I added a 12v plug aka iPhone charger and 3 more memorial dog tags. The gf and I are riding out tomorrow afternoon/evening to mississippi to see family. The NC mountains should be fun.
15. It's time to find out if the ice-cream is as good this year as it was last year, so I did a test run tonight and so far I'm not sure,,, sooo I'm going to do another run tomorrow, 6:30pm. Anybody want to join me?
16. And hope it lasts all day. 108 degs predicted in NorCal today. Cooling off tomorrow.... down to 104.....
17. Looks like ( Larry, Joe & I) we're going South of the border into Canada tomorrow. We'll make our way up to Sarnia for the return trip, who knows where we'll go in between both bridge crossings. Maybe Grand Bend. Any of our Canadian friends wanna meet for lunch or suggest some good roads to ride? Any more riders coming speak up now.
18. Moped (Ron) and I will be leaving when the rain stops in Cincinnati. So I am not sure when we will arrive in Oberlin, but we will be there before dark tomorrow. It is 9:25 PM and it is raining now, so hopefully it will stop tomorrow morning. I am really excited about the trip. See you all soon! Yama Mama:happy65:
19. Well I finally got her back together, certified and registered (new plate) and got her out for the shakedown ride this evening. I was like a little kid...so exited, I was about three click from home when I realized I didn't have the mirrors installed. Back home I went..got em on and back out again. Only two concerns; 1) a slight miss but I know I'll have to sync the carbs (new diaphragms installed). 2) she was wandering very slightly at highway speeds and I'm wondering if I need to tweak the air pressure in my new Kenda Kruz's. When I got home I was checking her over and found that the fork brace was only finger tight (DOH!!!) so that's likely the problem there? I'll find out tomorrow on the way to work. Will try to post pics tomorrow. Heroes Highway ride Saturday...woohoo!
20. In your Venture. Would you ride it cross country tomorrow....???
21. wife & daughter went to Mobile, Al on Sunday, she called today and said " what are you doing tomorrow" which right then I knew SOMETHING was up. I replied I'm working u know that... then she said "well I was HOPING you could come get me tomorrow" which I replied.... well I guess I can IF i need to, she said u need to... so I'm going to work early then as quick as I can get done I'm off to MOBILE, 287 miles 1 way...
22. I recently sold my '89 Radian as I was looking to get into something a little more suited for longer hauls and the Venture caught my eye. I found a '86 Venture Royale with 74K miles that I plan to check out tomorrow. I called the owner and he had this info to pass: Runs great although lately haven't ridden much and therefore at low engine speeds need to apply a little choke. Has the air shocks, cruise, clock, factory am/fm/cb, intercom, headphone for both riders, driver back rest, wind wings, highway floorboards, aux driving lights, extended chrome fender w/ fender trim, trunk rack, chrome light bar on trunk, waterproof cover and dust cover, taller windshield, venture bags, excellent condition paint, tires are good, garage kept. Currently owned by an elderly gentleman that has owned it since '92. He has done the service himself or with a mechanic friend. He seems mechanically inclined as also restores old cars. He said he had the clutch plates replaced not too long ago. It was laid down once by the owner before him but only the slightest little scrape on the mirror was the only damage and he said he has had no issues with it since. I am planning on riding out tomorrow to go check it out and was wondering if you guys had any advice. He's asking $3500. Does this seem like a fair price? I have spent the past few days scouring this site learning as much as possible. I plan on asking if he has had any issues with 2nd gear and if the starter has had any high heat issues. Beyond that any other advice would be appreciated. I am familiar with Yamaha carbs as I was constantly cleaning and syncing the carbs on my Radians. If I do end up tearing into these ones I know to check the diaphrams and hope there are no issues there. If I were to negotiate what would be the areas of concern? Thanks in advance and I look forward to hearing what y'all have to say. Matt
23. Thanks much to M61A1MECH ( Steve) and playboy ( Vincent) for there help in my project pictures will be posted tomorrow after its maiden voyage. Thanks again guys for all your support and guidance.
24. Hello Everyone, I'm a newbie here, and to biking for that matter, but I'm about to get my feet wet in a big way. Tomorrow I pick up my first bike. I'm getting into this kinda late in life (55), but looking forward to having some fun, and making some friends. I figure motorcycles would ultimately be a cheaper mid-life crisis than a girlfriend (lol). So tomorrow I p/up a 2006 Yamaha Royal Star Midnight Tour Deluxe, it's beautiful. Heck I'll be happy just sittin on it in the garage, if it runs....all the better. Looking forward to becoming a member here, and getting to know everyone, some of you have already been a help to me in making this selection. You know, I have to say one thing, I was truly impressed at the feedback I heard on this board about the Yamaha brand, and especially the RSTD, it really solidified my choice in bikes. Thanks Everyone & stay vertical !
25. Left shoulder surgery tomorrow. Just wanted to warn everybody that I will be aggravating you all for quite some time again. No work or ride for the last 8 weeks and now after surgery, 3 - 6 months recovery. So no work and ride either and I am sick already. I have my new bars and SS lines on that I can not try and a trip planned and going to miss Don's Maintenance day. Well shoot, oh well. I am blessed and I realize that, but dog gone it, it really really really sucks getting old. I need to learn that when I am working that I am not able to do as I always have. Well I have time to get some computer work done. Adding to Don's Member Vendor list and going to try to sell a few Stinger Flagpole Mounts that I have been working on and to help me and the PGR riders out a little. I have a guy in or next to Kenova,WV building me up a few. Then also a friend nearby to help when needed. Then I am painting and taking care of the rest. The steel and is going to be the biggest factor I believe,so expensive. Well so consider yourselves warned that I am going to be lurking about for a long while. Please come visit me here. Thanks all for your cares and prayers. Fuzzy :thumbsup2:
