  1. :rotf: Hey Dan, Remember that garage you were building ??
  2. I'm in the same boat. Next one is the last one along with the next truck being the last one I figure.
  3. Hmm, My odo was right on in stock configuration. Verified it with GPS and state and federal mileage markers tests. But the speedo was fast of by 9%. After adding the speedohealer now the speed is right and the odo is off.
  4. EVERYBODY NEEDs at least 3 Portable Hard drives... Its not if they go down but WHEN..And Like Mike, You won't know for a couple of weeks using it to see what all you didn't reinstall or where those files are..
  5. Had Dish, Went to Direct. Going back to Dish. better service I think and like Don The Menu's are easier to use on Dish for us.
  6. The biggest problem with people learning counter steering is the direction to push. They think they have to push down. That's not correct. You push forward on the bar in the direction you want to turn. Totally incorrect in most people's minds at the time as it would be like steering the wrong way with a car.
  7. This is the same as the RSTD. I hit the rev limit around 6600 on my tach. Taking Second to 65 is about the time the rev limit kicks in. Your oil light will flash and it will start missing. At 60 you could drop all the way down to third and still kick it in the pants and get around them even faster.
  8. Pull the fairing, in there you will find a bundle of round connectors with color bands. Pull each one apart and put some electrically conductive grease (nooxid) on it. Then put them together and pull them a part a few times to clean off any oxidation. Also check to see if the CB is on. When ever the CB picks up it will turn the radio or whatever down. What he said below is true. You want to seal the lips of the rubber matiing surface with Dielectric grease
  9. I had a Mustang on my Nomad years ago. Best seat I ever had. I just saw they have one for the Venture now. Gonna have to save my pennies. I wish they had it in other than black. Black seats and the South Texas sun don't mix real well...
  10. Use the selector till it reads IC. Then turn the volume up to about 10.
  11. You would need a Slim or micro ballast. The other route is to splice some high voltage wire (same wire on DVM leads) into the system and put the ballast somewhere else.
  12. I agree with the denatured alcohol. Have you tried your fingernail to see how well its sticking?
  13. Don't mount it to your windshield. The fairing and windshield will bounce it off. Get a Ram mount or similar handle bar mount.
  14. They keep coming back I have discovered.. Usually wanting money..
  15. Fast flash usually means a burnt out turn signal on the side that is fast
  16. Glad your OK, You know ? When you got a shotgun in your hand you'll never see one.....Maybe I should get a bright yellow first gen to go turkey huntin with?
  17. Have you synced the carbs lately? That will cause backfiring. Mufflers usually rot from the inside out. Condensation, something your pretty familiar with by now...lol.. Seems I remember something about after market mufflers somewhere on this site.
  18. Your clutch is hydraulic so check your fluid. It probably needs changing
  19. The ones that are left.
  20. Try putting the OEM filters back on. It really sounds like an air flow problem not that you have said that.
  21. I never saw a response but did you happen to remove the air filters and check? Also be sure to check the plumbing while you have it apart if you don't find anything in the air boxes.
  22. Thanks Everyone. Brad, I owe you one....
  23. Kawasaki makes a good bike. You'll like it. Now if we could get Yamaha to wake up. I won't be buying another Yamaha. C'mon, NOBODY makes the same bike for 13 years !!! and NO UPDATES. I have come to the conclusion that Yamaha is run by a bunch of morons. The most expensive bike they make and they haven't even tried to update it with ABS or anything. And a major flaw in the design of the rear shock. They wonder why they sit on the floor of some dealers for a couple of years.
  24. Check the air cleaners and the plumbing. If you have any flow restrictions she will not run right in the higher gears. You'll notice it in second at mid to high rpm. It seems to bog down and you can't seem to find it. Even if one side has a small blockage it will affect the way it runs a lot.
