I have been using a Bi-xenon for the last seven years. Same complete unit. I don't remember the make but it was a pair for a car. Figured that way I would have a spare. On mine the bulb actually moves not the shield. I would not go back to an incandescent if you paid me. I have recently seen some projector lens retrofit. Looking at doing that in the near future..

Laying it down and landing on the throttle. Key is harder to deal with in an emergency such as an accident. Looking for and flipping the red switch becomes a trained reflex. Especially if you have ever raced motorcycles in the old days. Really useful since most racing bikes don't have rev limiters and there's a real possibility of blowing the engine..

Tell them to replace the whole rear end. There's no way they can justify that many clutches in such a short period of time. Something is very wrong with the rearend. Can you imagine how busy they would be if Every 09 and up F150 with posi had to have its clutches replaced that often. And then what are you gonna do when its outta warranty. I would scream replace the whole rear end or lemon law if your state has one. Your being fed a line of bull a mile long period! I had 2 Dodges, and 4 gmc's over the last 18 years and my current 08 F150 has beat them all hands down. Total cost of parts (warranty and non warranty)so far after 120k is 39 dollars. I am losing the battery now though and will replace it tomorrow. Then it'll be time for plugs and pads . But I do have a standard rear end. Never really needed posi yet.

Pressure switches were phased out in the 60 and seventies. I was hanging traffic signal in the late seventies and we were ripping them out of the ground. They went to induction coil type systems(Detection Loops) which is basically a bunch of wire in a loop in the ground. As a large metal object moves over it, it induces a voltage because it changes the magnetic field effects. These small magnets they sell are really not powerful enough to do that, but added to the bike it seems sometime they work sometimes they don't. Most cities and states are moving to camera systems now for traffic detection..

I would take all the connections apart and spray them with contact cleaner. Put them together and pull them apart a few times to help clean the contacts. Then put some DI-electric grease on all.

You can verify that by taking it to a muffler shop and have them put test tubes in thier place. If all the power is back then that is correct. Had that happen to me on a 75 caprice classic. I just replaced the exhaust system with duals and left them off.

swingarm adjustment, 2nd gen

I don't remember removing the header but may have. It was about 2 to 3 hours to do it all and wasn't that bad. Its just been about 3 years since I did it. I do remember removing the rear shock. An experienced (good) Yamaha mechanic would probably have it done in about an hour and a half. -
Groundclear may still kill it.

Similar thing happened to my wife. We were in a parking lot stopping for a soda and I hear the dreaded (racing engine) which always means a rider loosing it. Looked over and she was zigzagging thru the parking lot avoiding parked cars. Finally got it stopped. Went and checked on her and she was fine. She said the throttle stuck. I had just put it on for her a few days before and she had used it often. I tossed it in the trash. She never had that problem again. They work but can be dangerous especially to new or inexperienced riders. On several occasions on mine I had to remember it was there from unwanted acceleration. As an experienced rider I knew what to do in the first half a second it happened though. I tossed it away since I have Cruise Control.

help with problem on 2006
BuddyRich replied to bikerjohn's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
If it starts and runs fine for a few minutes then you may have a fuel pump problem. Do you hear the pump clicking when you first turn the key on ? -
which would you choose,I need a new seat
BuddyRich replied to crowrod's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I tried the Corbin also. Too hard. I found a Mustang just right for my Nomad. Now if they just made them for the RSV I would be happy. Had to take my seat apart in 06 and redo it. Basically removed the top pieces of fluffy foam and replaced it with high quality carpet pad . Worked real good . -
Now, I know they got fish in KY. Did you catch anything? :whistling:Don't even bother telling us bout the one that got away..

Clearview vs. F4 Customs windshield
BuddyRich replied to DarkLeftArm's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have had my Clearview for about 5 years now. Few nicks and rock dings in it but its still clear and the wife gets no buffeting. -
Ah, Cmon Jack, You'll just have frozen gonads like that. You wanna spend a couple of months here in San Antonio where its cooler?

I have two fords and they are the best vehicles I have ever had. Now, saying that. I have been in electronics for over 35 years . Coils cannot work harder or be lazy and work easier. The things work or they don't. If the gap becomes so great that the spark cannot arc then it simply does not fire and the coils has all that voltage sitting there. More than likely its a hi voltage feedback problem and it fries the computer like that..

I always try to find the best fit/feel. Cost is a consideration but Its gotta fit the shape of ones head. Try them on till you find the one you can wear and be comfortable for a couple of hours at a time. That's the one you want. I have had helmet that push on the front, ears don't quite fit. Whatever. Couple of years ago I found a Scorpion helmet that fit great. Still have it but its gonna need replacement. As they age the straps get shorter. These are almost to short to put on.
