Anybody have troubles with their 2010 and earlier Ford F-150 rearend clutches. I just took my truck in today for the 2nd time to replace the rearend clutch plates. I'm on the 3rd set in just over 28000 miles. The dealer has been good about it, and I'm told it is a fairly common problem. I was told that the rearend clutches have been the same for years and that the tooling used to make them is getting worn which explains the problems. Just wondering if im the only one having this problem or any of you have had it too. In 2011 they came ou with the 6 speed trans, so it may be possible that the rearend tooling has been updated.

I did a few upgrades to my 87 standard, and one of them was to replace the clutches, and double up the clutch spring. It sure is annoying when you have a very respectable amount of horsepower, but can't use it because of slipping clutches. The new clutches and double springs certainly cured that, but now I'm a bit worried that I'll break something else. I tend to like to "play" with the horsepower from time to time, ( when you put the juice to it it'll either smoke the tire or pull the front end ) The initial thrill is over, so I've settled down a bit, but I wonder how strong the driveline is. Just curious. Everything seems fine, but I'd hate to screw up the rear diff, or tranny. I'm needing new clutches in my 87 standard...getting some slippage when I goose it a bit. I ordered a clutch kit and replacement spring from Buckeye Performance (nice people, fair prices). I spoke with Rick and asked him what I should do to get a little bit tougher clutch, and his suggestion was OEM clutches, and a new wave spring, suggesting that I double up the spring, new one on top of the old one to stiffen up the clutch. He warned that it'd make the lever stiffer, but didn't think it'd be a problem. He seemed to know what he was talkin' about, and I trust him, but I was just curious if anyone has tried this, and what the result was. I'm planning on setting it up to ride two up, sometimes with a trailer, and want a pretty solid clutch. Hopin' to get some input from someone who's been there, done that.

My 1985 Venture Royale has slipping clutch in 4th and 5th gears. Was going to repalce with Barnett SR 2 Pressure plate and clutches. Was told this does not fit 1985 .. So what have others done to correct slipping clutch on 1985... How good are EBC clutches and springs.. Thank You Joe in NJ

WEll i need some help i have a 87 venture 3 clutches in 6 months work well in the beginning just cant figure it out--barnett clutches barnett spring-- im just lost?????? TIPS ANYONE??
