  1. Normal like Don said. Some cars and truck actual have cooling fins on the rear ends. Remember, it pushing and pulling 1000 lbs at high speeds, so its gonna warm up.
  2. Brother in law died of the same thing in 02. Last few months were the hardest as it robbed him of ALL mobility. I took a lot of things for granted till that. Sorry to hear it.
  3. Tried to do it the hard way with 3 tiretools. Tire almost won. Bought the harbor freight changer and it works great. Static balance by letting it spin on its axle between 2 sawhorses. if it stops with the same side down several times that's the heavy side so you put a weight on the top and try again till it stops in a different place each time
  4. Leonard, with the antenna on the tank your body may block it when ever you go nw. If you notice it cutting out move it up on the base of one of the mirrors. Where the mirror meets the stem. Its steel so the magnet will hold
  5. I really like this thread.. Beware of Garage Sale Helmets, BY LUMPY :rotf: You do that on purpose or did ot just turn out that way?
  6. When you say cassette deck.Are you useing the actual cassette adapter. Cause there's a 1/8 inch mini jack right next to the Cassette. its the hole on the right. That's the AUX input. connect it to the XM headphone out
  7. Just order the spraycan from colorrite.com One spraycan should be more than enough to do the spoiler. the clear it and your ready to bolt it on.
  8. Watch her during a ride and see if she consisently looks over your left shoulder. Maybe she is leaning that way so much that all her weight is on her left side. Do you fell and more vibration in the left floorboard then the right?
  9. Get the primer one. http://www.colorrite.com/CRPLfactoryColors.php?appID%5B%5D=2663&typeID=2&appYear=2006&appManuf=Yamaha&IsStreet=1&IsDirt=&imageField.x=40&imageField.y=4
  10. :moon::moon::moon::moon: :stirthepot:
  11. It may have been mentioned but. Both sides, mounting bolts for the grab bars and the trunks mount bolts vibrate loose and go bye bye. USE loctite even on a new one.
  12. Last year I think it was in 4th. 5th is to high for the stock engine. Out by Travis AFB theres a couple of good flat-straight strecthes.Speedo was burried if I remember right, But was not really looking at the speedo. Kept looking for coyotes and watching the broken white lines that were now a singleline:eek:
  13. Mine had low milage for the first couple of grand also. The popping may be from the AIS. I plugged mine and the popping is gone. After I go onto reserve I usually don't push it past 30 mile before getting gas. at which point it usually take around 5 gallons.
  14. Skid, I custom made mine. They are very bright. But I used the same LED that the ones below are made from. These are not cheap but at 50,000 hours they will probably outlast the bike. I also like the faster flash so I did not add a load balancer. A load balancer is a false load and sends the power to ground so you loose the amp savings by going to LED. The LED also has a must quicker "lightup" time. One reason for the slow flash on normal automobile flashers is the long delay from the time the bulb gets power to the time it goes to full light output. It is best if the LED is pointing out. If I rememeber right the 1st gen taillight bulb is pointin back so it will work good, I have not seen the front turnsignal orientition. I would use the Luxeon, They are BRIGHT. http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/commerce.cgi?product=CAR 1157-LX3 Luxeon LED bulb http://www.superbrightleds.com/store/html/images/115x-xLX3.jpg
  15. Most 5mm leds fall in the 25 ma range. so 10 of them draws .250ma or 1/4 amp
  16. The 337 is by Hadfield Lake I think. Haven't found the other 2 yet. It wnw of San Antonio.
  17. I am about to face the same thing. Got 2 Boxers been with us for over 10 years now. Hate to see them go. Dogs become a big part of the family.
  18. I saw the dreaded SLIME word used here. DON'T USE SLIME. It corrodes the rim, and I had to use a wire brush to get it off the rim.
  19. Hardwired is better as mentioned. Moving from city to city the freqs your xmitter is using may be occupied, so then you have to change channels on BOTH devices. interference will be a minor problem except as stated above(occupied by a radio station) since the xmitter and receiver are so close.
