  1. I don't know George. in order to get a 1 volt drop you would need at least 1 ohm of resistance. Which I really doubt is happening between a crimped joint as compared to a solder joint. If that was the case, then you would get a 1 volt drop across any of the "push together" connectors also as they are just a touch type connection too.
  2. What Don said, If you'll take a close look at your new bike you'll see 4 exhaust pipes exiting the engine, 2 on the left and 2 on the right. And they are a LOT smoother and faster than any v-twin.
  3. I think that would just blow the warranty away. BIG bucks too.
  4. Vibration in the floorboards is usually a sign that you need a carb sync. We see them come from the dealer brandnew in need of a carb sync.
  5. Hey Gene, did you find an adapter yet? I just bought a Zumo and was wondering how this turned out. Any thing here you can use? http://www.usbgear.com/USB-Adapters.html http://www.dcables.net/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=135&gclid=CI3Ki4Xw04kCFQYgYQodKDzu3g
  6. Lone Eagle (Vic) Has a HD tour pak installed. You might ask him how he likes it also. I don't know what he used to mount it.

  8. The baffles on the stock rsv pipes are not removable. They can be drilled out but the sound has too much of a wisp to it. Like Brad said the RKs sound good and drilled out they are deep. I went to RSTD pipes with 4 1/4 inch holes drilled and they are OK. I'm really not into LOUD any more.
  9. I think I read somewhere that the specs they go by are US and the limit is + or - 12% . I bought the same device and love it. No more guessing at 80 mph if I'm gonna get a ticket or not. You know the sticker you got with it. I know I'm speeding My Speedometer is Calibrated
  10. Hey Gene, That somekinda service. I mean you ordered them an hour ago and already got them installed. :rotf: I had to think about that one for a minute
  11. I think another 100 watts would be good. But at some point were gonna start burnin up rectifiers. I don't know what the current rectifiers limits are, but that is something that needs to be considered when pumping more amps thru it.
  12. Goose, Just checked and the thermal switch is set to kick on at 68 or lower and to kick off at 79 according to the manual. Could be because the carbs may want to ice up when being run hard as gas has a cooling effect during evaporation. I run a Gerbings heated vest and 3 headlights. Can't run the vest and the high beams for a long time even at highway speeds. But I have never run down the battery either during normal operation.
  13. 1" clamps
  14. I like them. But I got mine off ebay for 105 I think. If they are worth the extra money? I guess that would be a personal thing. I just went that way so I did not wind up buying 2 or 3 pairs trying to find what I wanted. The wind vents swing out so its important to clear them. I attached a couple of pics. You can see the vents come down the side of the crash bars a few inches. When opened they pivot around them
  15. Just depends on what you want I guess. I put the longhorns because the are real adjustable. Worked out good with the lower wind vents installed. http://www.kuryakyn.com/products.asp?bn=metric&ci=3260 http://www.kuryakyn.com/graphics/products/popup/7980-metric.jpg http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star/accessories/acscitemdetail/5/4/83/408/all/1/4607/0/detail.aspx http://www.starmotorcycles.com/assets/accessories/250/STR-1D608-80-00-250.jpg
  16. Rick I use Rotella syn and mobile1 filters. I go between 5k and 7k on oil and filter changes.
  17. I got one of Larry's with the legs. Great piece of equipment. I would recommend it over anything else out there.
  18. Yea, losing all the lights can be a lot of fun at 70 in the dark
  19. Just replacing the headlight bulb should not blow the fuse or cause it to blow later. I would be looking for chafing wires or something shorted. Try turning it on and turn the handlebars lock to lock. See if it blows the fuse then. Do you have the passing lamps also, do they run off the headlamp circuit. If they do and you went to a 130 watt aftermarket headlight that may overload the circuit.
  20. From Here. http://www.dgy.com/eshopprod_cat_2085-6666-4199_product_206198.BILLET_ENGINE_COVERS.htm
  21. Changed the rear floorboard. Think I like this 1/8 inch pattern better.
  22. Grabbed some 320 grit Wet/dry sand paper and took it to the cylinder head covers. Came out pretty good and didn't cost anything since I already had the sandpaper. Just sanded the edges till they shined.
  23. Just add a 2 gb SD card. It looks to have an expansion slot.
  24. :rotf: There's and idea. Using a leaf blower to blow leaves....:rotf:
  25. Must be a Kawasaki leaf blower :rotf:
