  1. I have had a Kuryakyn Triple Whammy on my Road Star for a couple of years now and have been looking for one for the RSV. Problem is they don’t make a plug and play Triple Whammy and I’m really not in the mood to cut on any more wires on the RSV. It is not available for the RSV as a plug and play. So anyway I bought a wire harness from a member here Steve Kawalcky aka M61A1MECH on the forum and in the course of the conversation I asked if he could build an adapter to plug the Road Star Triple Whammy into the RSV. After some discussion and pictures going back and forth an expertly build adapter arrived at my house. I plugged it into the RSV and wa-la I had triple whammy taillights on the RSV. Everything works the same as on the R* and I couldn’t be happier. No cut wires and things worked perfectly. I ordered another Triple Whammy for the R* so I will have that added safety feature on both motorcycles. If you are interested you will need to buy a Kuryakyn part number 4602. This will come with lenses red bulbs for the turn/running lights. If you have already converted to clear lenses and red bulbs you will need a Kuryakyn part number 4612 this not come with the lenses or bulbs. If you shop on line you can find better prices than on Kury’s site. Thanks to M61A1MECH for all your help. Kent P.S. If you don't know what a Triple Whammy is go to Kuryakyn web site and you can see what I'm typing about.
  2. Ordered the Kuryakyn grips #6240 for my 2009 Venture along with the Throttle Boss gadget that goes with them. Dealer just called and they have arrived. My mechanical expertise is not that great and I ain't just being modest Is this removal of the old and installation of the new grips something that I might attempt or should I have the service department do it? Back in the '60's it was so easy to change cables, grips, exhaust systems etc. :backinmyday:Heck back then I could, and did, even de-carbon my H2 triple. But this Venture ain't nothing like my old Matchless, R.E., Triumph, Kawasaki or even the Honda GL-500 I had. I sure don't want to get started on something I can't finish I searched for pictorials here on the job and did not find anything.
  3. Well, I did it. I traded my Venture. I never toured, so it was just too big and heavy for jumping on and cruising. What did I replace it with? A 2010 Honda 1300 Custom Interstate... http://i43.tinypic.com/2eeaa1c.jpg It's a lot lower, lighter and easier to handle. I coudn't give up the shield, floorboards and bags and I have an engine guard on order to take the Kuryakyn highway pegs. I'm also ordering a sound system, so I won't miss too many of the extras the Venture offered (never used the CB or cruise anyway).
  4. Curious if anyone has found an aftermarket lense for the RS's turn signals, like the kuryakyn deep dish bezles.
  5. When I bought my bike, it had a set of Kuryakyn Dually ISO pegs (with offset) on it, along with a chrome/brushed looking cupholder, both which I removed when I got it home. The bike only had 8k miles on it, so the pegs are in great shape. On the bottom of one of the offsets near the clamp, there is a small scuff. It can be seen in the second 2 pics, of the bottoms of the pegs. It wasn't noticeable on the bike because it faces down. I'm really comfortable with my feet on the floorboards, and wear a full face helmet, so I don't ever plan to reinstall them. There are a few items I would like to add to the bike, so I was hoping someone here might like to do a trade for items of similar value. I'm definitely interested in handlebar risers, and also looking at lamp visors, the chrome trim for the front fender, and a good set of vacuum guages. I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but I couldn't put a price and don't know if the pegs fit 1st gens, so I'm trying my post here.
  6. kuryakyn airmaster fairing. any one here put one of these on there bike. i want to. but i want to know if it installs ok. thanks matt
  7. Has anyone used this Kuryakyn trunk rack on a RSV? Model 7139 What about the mounting patern. DO you think it will get in the way of the hinges? http://www.kuryakyn.com/index.cfm/go/Home.ProductDetail/IMID/1750 Also, if anyone has an Yamaha OEM rack for sale (STR-4XY62-50-00) let me know.
  8. I keep seeing the Kuryakyn Master Cylinder Switch panels. This would solve all my switch problem at one stroke. I have two switches installed in my right hand dash cover as of now but they are a bit awkward in that position. I want to mount my digital volt meter in the dash where the switches are now and find a way to mount a switch panel on the left side handbar. I would like to have 3 switches or even a 4th one. They don't seem to have anything that's bolt on for a 1st Gen, Doh!, no surprise there but I was hoping that someone here has made a mod for something like this. Any suggestions? Mike
  9. I have an 07 RSTD, we measured the crash bar diameter is it appears to just a tad under 3/4". the smallest diameter that i see for Kuryakyn Iso Pegs are 1". anyone here with a rstd have these pegs and if so what is the part # and will i need to make a shim ? Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions. Another thing, i'm buying the Hoppe Quadzilla fairing for my bike and i would like to add passing lamps (or light bar which ever you prefer) and need ideas/suggestions also.
  10. I just got my Kuryakyn Switchblade highway pegs. I like how adjustable they are, but there is one adjustment that I can't figure out: how do you stop them from spinning? The actual foot platform spins like on bearings. When I extend the heel rest, it swings down to point towards the ground. I don't see how the heel rest could be of any use. The pegs themselves are less supportive, since the turn so readily. Is there anyway to lock them in place at a particular angle? What am I missing?
  11. what kind of glue do some of you use to hold the new kuryakyn grip on , the one side I can't seem to get it to tighten completly.
  12. I purchased a Kuryakyn battery/volt meter and hope to install it this week on top of the triple tree emblem. Has anyone else put one of these on. Where do you tie in electrically so as to get as accurate a reading as possible? Thanks Jim
  13. Anyone make your own flag pole holder for the trunk rack? This would be for the small flags like around 6" x 10". Share your ideas. I am looking at them, but I am a cheapskate and don't like to spend the $$ for the ones out on the market. Also there is at least one that I know of (maybe Kuryakyn) that a friend of mine has. Everytime he rides it doesn't stay in place
  14. Kuryakyn adjustable cruise peg mount 4549, Foot board mounted. Listed for all road star and v-star 1100 models. Drill to mount. Kuryakyn Stiletto Footpegs 4476. Engine guards are flimsy, I'm 5'8'', so the foot board mount works best for me. The assembly is infinitely adjustable. Moves your feet away from the motor heat. No problems with clearance to the vents or brake/shift leavers. I like them. http://gallery.me.com/k1oj/100048/IMG_0300/web.jpg?ver=12319880000001 http://gallery.me.com/k1oj/100048/IMG_0295/web.jpg?ver=12319880220001 http://gallery.me.com/k1oj/100048/IMG_0296/web.jpg?ver=12319880270001 http://gallery.me.com/k1oj/100048/IMG_0298/web.jpg?ver=12319880370001 http://gallery.me.com/k1oj/100048/IMG_0299/web.jpg?ver=12319880120001
  15. I put a set of Longhorn Duallies on my RSV on Sunday, rode to work on Tuesday and noticed a crack on the clevis. Upon further investigation, both left and right pegs were cracked in the same place. The shop I purchased them from said they will swap them out. Has anybody had issues with Kuryakyn pegs?
  16. I have just purchased #6180 Kuryakyn grips for my '88 VR.......any recommendations/suggestions for installation, orientation and positioning of these grips?? Thanks.
  17. Has anyone tried a Kuryakyn trunk rack for a Goldwing on a Venture? I have been trying to find a Yamaha one with no luck as they are on national backorder.
  18. Has anyone installed a curved license plate holder on a RSTD? I saw a 2006 with one installed on it but I'm not sure of the correct Kuryakyn number. KY-9198?? Sorry if there's already a thread on this... I couldn't find one using the search engine....

    Broken Grip

Well this weekend I did a very stupid thing, I pushed up on the handle bars on the end to move the bike. In doing this is snapped the Kuryakyn grip on the left side. I tried to super glue it with no success. Kurayakyn doesn't sell just the one grip I found out. Dose anyone have a set they would like to sell? Or, can think of a way to fix the broken one. The Kuryakyn part number is 6235. Thanks for any help. BigD

  21. Anyone familiar with Kuryakyn know what the heck these cotton pickin' things are called. I've been all over the site and I guess I'm not looking in the right place. 'Cause I can't find them??? Figured a member that's into chrome might know. Or maybe it's not Kuryakyn??? The first pic is the footpeg assembly, and the last couple are a top and bottom shot of the spacer that I'm trying to find a listing and price for??
  22. Kuryakyn LED Trunk Handle ,think it will fit the RSV ? http://www.wingstuff.com/pgroup_detail/4034/
  23. Hey Guys & Gals, I need to remove and reinstall my left Kuryakyn grip. What is the best way to do this? I have got it to twist some, but it looks like it is pulling the rubber away from the grip. Thanks for any help.
  24. Hi all... With my '01 on its way I am already researching my first add-on. I have always ridden with highway pegs and I assume the RSV will be no different for long trips. I see alot of references to the kuryakyn pegs but are there any specific model numbers or other brands that I should be looking at? Thanks for the help guys. Merry Christmas...
