  1. I need help guys and gals. I want to put new caliper seals front and back, are they the same? sorry I am not as mechanical as most of you and want to make sure I order the right items. Any website deals that you know of? SS brake lines as well. Thanks for any help. Ben
  2. I bought a set of arm rests from Larry for my '09 RSV. Larry shipped them same day he received payment and I received them about 6 days later (in Canada). Had a minor issue with alignment and went to Larry's to work it out together. He has his triked so it fit a little different but Larry resolved it same day and even took me out for dinner ! On the ride home (about 350km), my girlfriend commented on how comfortable it was. She's happy... so I'm happy ! I've gotten several items from Larry (Stebel horn bracket and wiring, lift adapter with legs) and as usual, the items are top quality with great support. While at Larry's I also picked up the engine guard braces. Here's the mandatory pics :
  3. I have a few items from my fathers estate that I'm having trouble identifying. None of these items have any type of identifying markings on them. I remember seeing these in my grandmothers home when I was a young child. The 2 smaller figurines appear to be some type of resin cast. The double headed one is hand carved wood with a lever that raises and turns the heads as if they are kissing. I would classify it as Black folk art or Black Slavery Americana. Any help with info or points of reference would be great.
  4. ALL items 30% off http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/render?llr=zzloveeab&v=001iv6lNzjdvpNZHjapw79QL7dZY3ZTE-ExfsWJzYvjg2xfiEQpZq-OBosZm5Pc5FjpmPsArgk0J7QHKlCPE-JGMelztF9nyl779y_uid0IdxV0dTIfaWYejpIrEq4MHVL1UeB-OEvx3kTk-V-k1PBeMUQrtHdLarY0ufpofnWEhhUEvVtiCnYQJR1_vfUcrvKr3DtEOEwZCdYitLIa9jDeJPSkBgfAmjC3
  5. Will be making a update on the Items I still have left for sale I will remove Items sold and add a couple more. PLEASE SEND A PRIVATE MESSAGE OR A TEXT ONLY FIRST TO RESPOND WILL HAVE FIRST CHOICE. Thanks Joe
  6. I know that I will be cooking dinner, as I do every year. I do not have brothers or sisters, so it is me. I am roasting the turkey, making the pumpkin pie, homemade dressing, mashed potatoes, rolls, and possibly green beans. Probably other items that I have not thought of yet. What are you all doing! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving day. Let's all be thankful for this past year of riding. Yama Mama:smile5:
  7. Hello to all, I am a new member on Venture Rider but already have a tough question. I am riding a 2009 RSV and want to get hold of some engine chrome does anyone have any ideas were to find these very items. Thank Ghostrider7:bobby:
  8. Bought some items from Ebay seller "dewsweeper64" . Just wondering if it was someone here. Items came from Bloomington, Indiana.
  9. Thanks to a 3 day weekend I only have 2 items left to go before I can take her for a spin. I spent the last 3 days working on putting her all back together. Had to take some parts off a couple of times because I missed putting a couple of things on..........very frustrating. Waiting on the rear master brake cyl, and the throttle cables to arrive, hopefully I will be riding it next weekend, short little spins at first, but everything works like it should, ran it through the gears while up on the center stand and she shifts as good if not better than when I got her 8 years ago. I have never owned a bike this long, and have never taken the engine apart and changed a tranny, not really hard, but I dont want to do it again. Got lots of help from the tech section here, and help from some very helpful members.
  10. Those that have won auctions for St. Jude items, I will be shipping them next week, we are leaving for B2Dad & B2Mom M&E as soon as I get off work, if you are attending I will have items with me and you can collect them there, if not they will go out next week. I will have a limited number available to those who want them at the M&E, I will let Don and Patti determine how to distribute them.
  11. Does anyone know of a touch up paint or spray that matches the gold color in the 1 inch square emblem that is on many accessories items like on the chrome calipar covers or on the rear trunk rack. It will also have 1200 or 1300 on it also.
  12. This is not motorcycle related but for those of us who use the internet to order stuff such as household items, furniture, etc you need to check this place out. I have been dealing with them now for several years and their customer service, delivery, quality cant be beat. I have ordered futon mattresses, dishes, a whole living room set, office chairs and many other items from them usually at a pretty good price and free shipping to boot. Any time that I had an issue it was immediately resolved. I cannot say anything bad about them. Im sure your wife will like this site as well. Mine surely does....And they take PayPal. Were always looking for good places to deal with and I have found this place to be one of the best out there. http://www.wayfair.com
  13. I'm going to hold all of my current prices for my items I make for another full season here. Current prices have been in effect for two years now but I know that by years end I'm going to have to raise them due to higher shipping and material costs. Anyhow everyone can expect my items holding at the current level till then when I'll reevaluate after the new year starts. Larry
  14. WHY MEN ARE NEVER DEPRESSED: Men Are Just Happier People -- What do you expect from such simple creatures? Your last name stays put. The garage is all yours. Wedding plans take care of themselves. Chocolate is just another snack... You can be President. You can never be pregnant. You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park. You can wear NO shirt to a water park. Car mechanics tell you the truth. The world is your urinal. You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky. You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt. Same work, more pay. Wrinkles add character. Wedding dress $5000. Tux rental-$100. People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them. New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet. One mood all the time. Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat. You know stuff about tanks. A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase. You can open all your own jars. You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness. If someone forgets to invite you, He or she can still be your friend. Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack. Three pairs of shoes are more than enough.. You almost never have strap problems in public. You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes.. Everything on your face stays its original color. The same hairstyle lasts for years, even decades. You only have to shave your face and neck. You can play with toys all your life. One wallet and one pair of shoes -- one color for all seasons. You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look. You can 'do' your nails with a pocket knife. You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache. You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives On December 24 in 25 minutes. ___________________________________ Men Are Just Happier People NICKNAMES If Laura, Kate and Sarah go out for lunch, they will call each other Laura, Kate and Sarah. If Mike, Dave and John go out, they will affectionately refer to each other as Fat Boy, Bubba and Wildman. EATING OUT When the bill arrives, Mike, Dave and John will each throw in $20, even though it's only for $32.50. None of them will have anything smaller and none will actually admit they want change back. When the girls get their bill, out come the pocket calculators. MONEY A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs. A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn't need but it's on sale. BATHROOMS A man has six items in his bathroom: toothbrush and toothpaste, shaving cream, razor, a bar of soap, and a towel. The average number of items in the typical woman's bathroom is 337. A man would not be able to identify more than 20 of these items. ARGUMENTS A woman has the last word in any argument. Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument. FUTURE A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband. A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife. MARRIAGE A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn't. A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change, but she does. DRESSING UP A woman will dress up to go shopping, water the plants, empty the trash, answer the phone, read a book, and get the mail. A man will dress up for weddings and funerals. NATURAL Men wake up as good-looking as they went to bed. Women somehow deteriorate during the night. OFFSPRING Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and romances, best friends, favorite foods, secret fears and hopes and dreams. A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY A married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing!
  15. ... those things you always heard about but never knew exactly what they were or if they actually existed .... plus a few other items of "special interest" http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=7&zenid=bvh4343hbvggs4oall8vdu9i04
  16. Sometimes you find them. Once in a while you can even get yours hands on them. This week was pretty good. Found a few things I've been looking for over the last few years and didn't go broke getting them. Only one slipped though my fingers. Drat. But how often do you find these items? In good or NOS condtion?
  17. I have an immediate need for my 90 model XVZ13DAC Venture. It has OEM CB and Intercom, but I need to obtain a headset and mike to use them. I was hoping someone who has a similar bike or who is familiar with this setup, can give me some information on where I could best find these items. I have just bought this bike, and it is cherry! Everything works, but it does not have a headset / mike. Any help would be most appreciated.
  18. Hi Guys, I have had my Venture Royale since 1989. Done all the maint myself...everything. I have been an electronics tech for 30+ years. Last year I replaced spark plugs, spark plug caps with all NGK, along with new 7mm hypolon copper wires. I had always used NGK spark plugs since the begining. In fact I only changed spark plugs every 20k miles or so. They were that good, and my bike tuned that well. This year I have been having "misfire" issues at idle. I finally checked the spark plug caps , wires and spark plugs. 3 spark plug caps measured OPEN(should be 5k ohms) on my digital meter and cleaned all spark plugs...3 spark plugs also open. I use non-resistor type which should read almost zero ohms. I suspect These items are NOT made in Japan or they have changed their construction of these items. These above items only had 3k miles on them. Now I have the OEM parts back in. NGK...Junk I say. Don't get stuck like me.
  19. For almost a year my battery goes down after a couple of days of not riding. I have added running lights, led tail lights, air horn, auxilary plug in and maybe a couple more items over time. I don't know whats drawing the battery down and an electrician I ain't. How can I test to see what is causing this problem?
  20. Seeing as I'm caging & trailering to Cody I can bring along some of my products besides what I intend for the raffle. Items would be horn brackets & wiring harnesses, lift adapters- standard & freestanding, crash bar braces, & 1 arm rest set. Prices will be discounted to reflect both savings in shipping and a cash discount for all items. I'll be limited to 4 each of the harnesses and brackets, crash bar braces, adapters, & 1 arm rest set due to what I have available and have room to haul with me. Anyone interested let me know either here of in a pm. We're leaving Tuesday so I have to know by tomorrow evening of any requests. Thanks, Larry
  21. Hi all this is Chad from Pioneer Motorsport. We are a Yamaha/Suzuki/Kawasaki/Can-Am dealer in western new york as well as VR sponsor. We will be attending our first maintenance day this summer, and wanted to get a thread started for special request items. We have a good sized enclosed trailer that we will have filled with Star apparel and goodies. I already am planning on bringing the standard maintenance items (Oil and filters from Yamaha, brakes from EBC, brake fluid from Bel Ray, tires - Dunlop Elite 3 and D404, an assortment of STAR accessories, etc.) If you are looking for a particular item please either post it in the official thread in the watering hole or PM me. I don't get to check venturerider every day but will at least get on a few times a week to respond to posts and messages. Thanks and looking forward to meeting everyone in a few months!
  22. In order to keep the auction thread where everyone can see it and not have to hunt for it, you can now find it in the sticky section at the top of the page. You can access the auctions from there. Thanks to everyone who has bidded and will bid. As soon as these auctions end I will be putting more up, there are plenty of items left, and I will shorten the time span as I think 15 days is a little long, so they will be 7 days long in the future. Thanks again, and dont forget to check out Squidley's "Weighing In For St. Jude"................ The time has come to start the auction for the St. Jude, hats, t-shirts, pins, and license plate holders. These listings will last for 15 days. High bidder at the end of the auction will win their item. I have many more of these items to post up for auction, so dont dispair if you dont win this one, there will be other put up as soon as these are over. I have attached pics here of all the items.....the pin is identical to the logo on the t-shirt (I could not get a good closeup of the pin, that is the reason it looks like the tshirt.) You can follow this link right to the auction items.....Happy Bidding......... St. Jude Auctions
  23. Hello Everyone: The next add ons that I want to install on my 05 RSTD are Saddle bag gaurds that protect saddle bags themselves and also top rails for the lids. Does anyone have such items, or can provide the Yamaha OEM part numbers for such? Thanks in advance.
  24. Ordered my new headsets on the 11th. They were here today Place an order late friday via internet after hours and get the items on a Tuesday morning is very impressive. Nice looking headsets as well. Cannot wait to use them.
  25. This is simply the beginning of a new set of Frequently Asked Questions I am going to create for us, focused specifically on the bikes, not the use of this board. Many of us get tired of seeing the same old things asked repeatedly, especially when they have been coved in great detail so often in the past. Hopefully, this will allow those new owners to find the basic ansers and links much faster! I am starting with the 2nd Gen models since that is the bike I own and know intimately, and I am starting it here simply to solicit ideas on what should be included. I am going to build this in stages, as I feel like typing and looking things up. I will begin with the next post by listing the FAQs alone without the answers, just to bet the list going, but I will keep editing that post and adding the answers to the questions until it is ready for movement to a more appropriate place. Please feel free to post any and all thoughts to this thread that will help in refining the ultimate document. I am sure that some of the items will be controversial, such as defeating the rudimentary pollution controls on these bikes, but I will endeavor to handle all items in a balanced and fair way (even the evil car tire debate!). But I also implore any of you to keep me on the straight and narrow if you feel I have not done a subject justice. Goose
