  1. Yep, I bought the Fram and Bosh, I topped the engine off with oil and everything is fine. That's the good thing about this site Freebird, if you have a problem, someone, somewhere will give you advice or suggestions and yes, "let the buyer beware" but I have had nothing but great feedback over the years. Maybe someday I can get to your meeting in Ohio and meet some of the fine people that ride and contribute to this site. God bless.
  2. Fellows, I have tried the PL 14612 & 14610 and the threading does not work on my bike. Im leaving for the store now to buy a Bosh 3323 and hope it works. I have oil on my garage floor from leaks, trying to get a filter that works. If the Bosh does not work Im putting it on the trailer to carry it to the Yamaha dealer to find out if it stripped out (I doubt it), I have changed my own oil since I bought it many years ago.
  3. I have not been on the site for awhile, need help. What oil filter are you using and what oil do you use? I was using a 80/20 blend, Walmart has just about changed or dropped everything here in Zebulon, NC
  4. Never met you and haven't been on this site for quite some time. You must be getting crusty in your old age. Keep up the good work.
  5. Nearly ran over a full retread from a tractor trailer yesterday evening; I was on 264 East near Zebulon, NC. My left foot rest brushed it at 70 mph. Didn't ride it to work today. I'm 68 and want to be 69. I know we all have those close calls but the older I get the more I enjoy my ride but the more I realize I'm one accident away.
  6. Yesterday I changed my oil and tried to install a new L14610 Purolator oil filter. Could not make it screw on unless I forced it. Went to Walmart and bought another one; the same thing happened. I put my old Purolator oil filter (L14610) back on. Any ideas or is it I'm just unlucky? Also, what do you recommend as a backup for oil filter.
  7. Switch is on when I try to crank.
  8. I hopped on my 2005 Venture R/S today, put it in neutral, turned the key, flipped the switch and then hit the button to crank my bike. Nothing, nothing at all. The Sirius XM came on; the speedometer lights, etc came on but it didn't click or make any noise. I kept pushing the starter button and it finally kicked in. This happened to me about 5/6 weeks ago and now its done it again. Any ideas???????????????
  9. Cranked up my 2005 VR R/S in the garage and saw the low beam is not working; the high beam is okay. I guess if any of you knew me better it would be some joke about not knowing how to change a light bulb. Well, is there a trick to it; what do I have to do to get to the bulbs?:lightbulb:
  10. Didn't see me in Zebulon, NC. Maybe its too small to show.
  11. I have paypal but like some; how do I send a few dollars via paypal? If you can post his address I can send a check. Just want to help........................
  12. As most of us know, Walmart does not carry Super Tech oil filters anymore.........What is everyone using now? It looks like Purolator won out on the bid.
  13. Great group of Patriots........Been a member for years....................You get more out of it than you put in.
  14. Since Wally World cancelled the contract with Champion Lab, I have only one Super Tech st7317 left (2004 Yamaha Royal Star Venture). I went with this filter because you guys out there in Venture Rider world recommended it and you haven't steared me wrong yet. What do you recommend as a replacement for the Super Tech st7317?
  15. Anyone out there have a five pin headset they want to part with. I have a 2004 Venture R/S and too many helmets and not enough headsets. My newest helmet is a full face. Give me a price. Thanks.
