  1. Anybody know the clutch bolt torque setting for an '87 VR ?
  2. cant find info on this. Its a barn find so to speak. Owner says it ran 10 yrs ago and has been setting since so I know it needs minimum new plug, wire , and fuel plus carb work. What my question is is how much is this thing worth. Theres not a scratch on it and everythings original. Onlly has 2796 miles on the odometer and since its setting beside a 57 bel air with 27 grand on I dont doubt the milage. Any help will be apreciated David
  3. Linda has lost the ability to get on the internet with her laptop. It was working fine using her wireless and she moved from one room to another and now it will not work. Her wireless still works fine for mine and it even shows a connection on hers, but it will not come up. Even setting beside the wireless router, it will not do anything. I have even reset it to work in the wired configuration, but it still will not come up. I have gone into the internet connection and set the homepage on yahoo and other pages and it still will not do anything. Any suggestions? RandyA
  4. Best shot I got of bikes parked in Front of Pioneer Motor Sports. Skipped a little on the panoramic setting, but not bad. I warned you it was large size for those that have a dial up connection. Gary http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af193/gdingy101/DSC00401.jpg
  5. DRS Fabrication has designed a durable metal, powder coated FRONT LED light mount, utilizing existing Royal Star Venture bolt holes. This is mounted low, away from the headlight and creates an enourmous amount of road illumination, as well as attractability. Combined with the Whelen LED Flash module, this allows many different, unique attention getting flashes or always-on setting. I have used a 27 watt LED light on each side of the front fender. It makes a magnificant light. The nice thing about using the Whelen LED Flash module it has the ability to a reduced light setting as well as a high light setting. The lights range from $25 on up depending what wattage, brand, size, shape, etc., each. I've seen the module as inexpensive as $33. The mount is priceless. If you're interested in getting a price on the mount, contact Dennis @ 814-360-9233 (Pennsylvania); a 2006 Royal Star Venture owner.
  6. Since Moped usually says all he wants for Father's Day is peace and quiet, I thought I would ask all you Dad's here what you would want? I offered to cook him the standing rib roast that has been setting in our freezer, but so far no reply. I know MiCarl wants my whipgirl photo! Yama Mama
  7. Hi all..new to the forum.I have a 09 Venture trike that I bought last fall.I have just got around to getting a set of Chatterbox headsets.I have the radio and cb working thru them . Now the newbie question. In order to use the intercom feature do I talk on a CB channel or is there a seperate setting for intercom? The book is useless in this regard. When I push the talk switch nothing happens unless I am in the CB setting. Thanks Dean:)
  8. If I remember right the setting is .003 to .007 Correct? I have cleaned mine up and noticed that the gap was getting larger. thinking I will try .004 I have lost my info in this. Thanks for any help. Jeff
  9. When I took a ride the other evening, I accidentally left my running lights on and they are not wired thru the ignition switch on purpose. I have plugged up my battery charger that charges at 6 amps on the high setting and 2 amps on the low. I am currently on the high setting. Is it ok to charge a dead DEKA battery like this? RandyA
  10. ok guys, a little help here please! I turn my radio on with the remote on left handlebar, start listening to favorite tunes, everything going ok, and then about in 10 mins or so the remote starts jumping from setting to setting by itself. It will go to the bass, treble, fade settings back to aux then sp/headphones etc. Cant figure it out.Is it the remote or the radio? Anyone else have this problem? HELP!!!!!! OH 2002 ROYAL STAR VENTURE.
  11. For those who have MKII what idel RPM setting do you like and why or is there just one recommended RPM idel setting. Also where is the idel setting screw?
  12. I enjoy on occasion running my CB and chatting with some truckers, or even just listening in. Makes time go by. Problem is I get so much static. If I run the squelch setting up to stop static then the CB has to be within sight to talk or listen in. What is the range for these? I work with handheld radios that will talk 5 miles or more to each other. Just curious if possibly I have an antenna issue, or are they just like this?
  13. Trying different things but whats the best air pressure for the front and rear and dial setting, 1,2,or 3. I ride most of the time weighing about 225. When my wife ride with me thats about 150 more. Now i have the dial on 2 and air about 35 in each. Seems soft and comfy for me but front has bottomed out on some bumps.
  14. Anyone going to Biketoberfest? I am going up from Brevard County starting Wednesday. I plan on going up each day till Sunday. Even though it does not start until Thursday, I have found it to be fun to go up on Wednesday and do some riding around before it gets crowded. I also like to scope out who is where because the vendors start setting up on Wednesday.
  15. it isn't even getting "cool" here, yet, and the "snowbirds" are already beginning to arrive! heck the CANADA GEESE aren't even here yet!!! then on this very forum, "the biscuit thread" pops up.PMS must be setting in. i give up on trying to figure folks out. just jt:snow:
  16. I need some advice from all you folks who have had some seat time with 1985 Venture Royale. (Not sure if year really matters). Let me fill you in on some details. I have about 400 miles in the seat of this machine. I have not ridden in the last 16 years. I am 6’2” tall and weigh in at 300lbs (I know not a small guy). Using the repair manual as the only reference, I am running fairly new Dunlop Elite series tires 32 PSI in front tire and 40 PSI in rear. Class system set to auto and running on medium setting which is around 16 PSI in front forks and 41 PSI in rear. I have the rear shock dial setting, set to 3 (don’t remember the name of this setting buts it’s the dial on the left of bike just behind foot peg). Now with all the facts here is what I am experiencing. -At speeds of 50+ going down highway or freeway I get the sensation that the front is floating, almost feels as if the front wheel has a mind of its own (kind of like on a bicycle with loose handle bars but not that extreme). At first I thought I was just feeling the wind on the front fairing, and then I thought it was side wind hitting the large chrome covers on the front brake rotors. I have completely checked the front wheel and steering head and all is tight and smooth. This is a very uneasy feeling for me and it is keeping from fully enjoying this fine machine. I friend of mine tells me I am just feeling the ruts in the road and not to worry about it, but he rides a Triumph sport bike that weighs in at more the half the weight of my bike and me. -Second issue is at about 45+ MPH the wind buffering behind the windshield starts to bounce my head around and gets worse at speed. A friend told me to try to stand up a little to see if I can get above buffer or slink down a bit to see if I can find buffer zone but I am not having much luck with either of those while riding. I realize this may have to do with my lack of experience not only in riding this machine but in riding in general, so any suggestions or re-assurances would be very helpful in my riding enjoyment. We are getting ready to take a 200+ mile ride tomorrow on a lot of highway and freeway and I am not looking forward to it.
  17. When I first got my 2009 Venture home...I noticed that when playing the music through the SPEAKERS...that the volume was speed controlled. In other words...at various speeds the volume would "auto" increase on it's own. I specifically remember that at 50mph the volume would go up quite a bit. That no longer happens. And I know about a month ago that the control center (black box on the left handlebar)...kinda FROZE UP and it took awhile for it unfreeze. So I don't know when it happened OR if there is a SETTING for that...has anyone experienced this or know about if it is a setting related thing in the audio controller. Thanks, Wally
  18. Quick question: My buddy is putting the clutch back together, he wanted to know " if the clutch springs are torqued to a certain setting or just good and snug"?? thanks
  19. OK, You guys back east kept talking about snow and wished it on us on the west coast. Now I can not go for a ride. Cabin fever setting in fast and it has only been snowing for two hours, just enough on ground to make it slick. About an half an inch.
  20. Is there a setting somewhere so I do not have to click on the MORE icon at the bottom of the HOME page to continue to older posts. Clicking on MORE icon gives me 5 more posts then it enables previous page selections. The home page is also formatted different than subsequent pages in center section as far as posted by column. Is there a setting to change number of threads shown on 1 page ? Gary
  21. HAPPY THANKSGIVING from the Bosely's and Minimuffin. Had a wonderful day here on the Outer Banks. Partly Cloudy beautiful sunset on the sound. Setting outside enjoying the evening. Plenty of Food, Dessert, and Wine:whistling:.
  22. I assume that you put the "restricters" in the rubber tubes per the instructions in the manual, but which adapters (if any) do you use for the 2nd gen RSTD? All of the directions given on the forum for using the carbtune are great, but none mention setting up the carbtune. Thanks for any help!
  23. I am disabled and have 29 inch inseam. I would like to hear from those who have lowered both fr and rr. How is handling and any problems setting the kickstand ? Cb
  24. Has anyone ever straightened out the toe side of the shifter? Move it in towards the engine. It seems like it would clear up some room on the floorboard for setting the foot. Doing this might make it hard to get your toe on it. By the way, I always use both the heel and the toe.
  25. All the tests are done (I hope) and should find out tomorrow if I need more surgery. Spine shaped like an S, hips not inline, and where back was fused is at a angle to the left, gained 80 lbs. Hope they have a plan because quite frankly just cannot take this pain anymore. And tired of setting on my butt all the time. Just glad I can still ride, it's about the only thing I can do anymore. Venting done, wish me luck.
