  2. What spark plugs are the best to use in an 83. If it matters the YICS has been disabled.
  3. Quickstep and I joined the Patriots M/C and a large group of riders for their annual Memorial ride. We had permission to ride over the causeway onto Fleet base West, which is the Navy base not far from us that is home to the Collins class submarine fleet. Magic! Then back to the Disabled Veterans clubhouse for BBQ lunch, raffles etc. In total we raised $5,000 for Legacy
  4. Had an experience today, that just fries my butt. I have been disabled for 18 years. I have a handicap plate on both my Durango and my Venture Royale. Earlier today I had to stop by Home Depot and parked my bike in a disabled slot. I have mostly gotten used to people looking at me funny when I use these parking places. Today as I was getting ready to leave when an elderly guy stops and starts grilling me about using the spot. I started out being polite and pointed out my tag and he wants to know "how I can ride a bike IF I am disabled". I just replied that I am disabled not dead. Then he starts questioning me about the POW/MIA jacket I proudly wear and the flag I fly on my bike! He finally realized he had me pissed off. Some times I wish I had lost an leg or had some visible signs to "justify" my status. I guess to be fair he could not see the brace on my ankle, or the 12 screws and plates in my neck from a 3 level discectomy and fusion. I have to wear the brace because of a failed fusion in that ankle. I was in the hospital for 3 days for that little operation,,,, then 3 months back in the hospital due to blood clotts. Since I have chronic DVTs ( deep vien thrombosis ) no one will even try to fix my fracked up ankle. I can't even get the dental work I badly need because no one will touch me. I have been on coumadin for 15 years now, they tried to take me off and I had a pulmonary embolism plus kept thowing clotts. I apoligize for this rant, it is just that it helps to get this stuff off my chest. Thanks for listening; Don
  5. Looking to find a trailer to put my dog in for trips. Seen the WAGS trailers ( do not like enclosed trailer idea) and am trying to locate one I have seen in use. It looked to be like a small sidecar and it may have been converted that way. I'm a disabled vet so my ability to fabricate or have one built isn't possible. So, if anyone know of one please let me know. Thanks, JW
  6. I am disabled and have 29 inch inseam. I would like to hear from those who have lowered both fr and rr. How is handling and any problems setting the kickstand ? Cb
  7. Here's my problem & I know some of you guys here really know your stuff. Hopefully you can steer me in the right direction. My wifes computer has a virus. I thought I had it all gone, but apparently not. I ran avg and it flagged a trojan. I guess it could not get rid of it. I have tried to run malwarebytes, but the virus has disabled that program. Same thing for Norton. As far as I can tell at this point (been working on it all morning) I can open any web site including foxnews, google, etc. The problem is that when I try to use the search function from google or any for that matter, the virus will not allow me to place a cursor in the search box. I can place a cursor in the address bar no problem, just not in the search box. Malicious little buggers they are! I'd like to get my hands on one of these guys just once. Oh by the way, I tried to uninstall/reinstall malwarebytes, but it still disabled it at reinstall. Any help anyone may be able to give me would really be appreciated. It's an old computer, but we just can't afford to replace it right now. Thanks,
  8. .....but didn't you used to be able to view which members have viewed a particular thread? I'm sure that used to be a function. Did it go away, or has it somehow been disabled?
  9. Some good news for disabled riders in Ontario. http://ogov.newswire.ca/ontario/GPOE/2008/05/22/c3016.html?lmatch=&lang=_e.html
  10. I had ask others about this possible problem a while back in here before. Yesterday after class here at the CVTC, (Chippewa Valley Technical Institute), in Eau Claire, WI., there was a parking ticket on my bike both for it not being a MC parking space and that I was parked in a disabled parking space. I do Have a disabled parking permit. And I do have a legitimate and very well documented disability. For some reason though, even after 2.5 years of having these problems, my doctor will only give me a temporary disabled parking permit. After my last post on this subject, I did find out that WI. does have disabled plates for motorcycles, but only for permanent disabilities. So that mean that until my doctor gives me permanent disabled status, I have nothing I can legally display on my bike to show I have a problem. Anyhow the jerks down at the parking enforcement, even though they have seen the proof that I have documented disability, refuse to void out this ticket. Depending on how a person interprets the paperwork I got with the parking permit, it can be a little confusing. They way I read it is that the permit is not valid on a mc so therefore I needn't display it on my mc. The guy behind the counter at the DMV agreed and told me to carry my paperwork if there was ever any question. The jackass here at the CVTC parking enforcement interprets it that motorcycles are not permitted to park in the disabled parking spaces period! She called someone at the DOT, and the woman on the other end agreed with her. She also stated that only a mc with disabled plates are permitted to park there. Therefore this would mean that if I have a temporary disability and a motorcycle, I don't have the right to park there. But on the other hand if it's a permanent disability and I have a bike with disabled plates only, then I have a right the right to park there. But still even with all that, I still can't park in one of there car parking spaces with my bike. Does this sound like some discrimination going on or what? Should I start looking for a lawyer? Any input on this matter will be greatly appreciated. P.S. I rode my bike to school again today, so I expect to find more tickets on my bike again. If this is the way it is gonna have to be, I will not be able to get to my classes anymore.
  11. Anybody else besides myself have problems with people when parking their bikes in disabled parking spaces? In this neck of the woods we can get plates and cards for our cars but not our bikes. The guy behind the counter at the DMV told me that I didn't need to display anything on my bike but I needed to carry the paperwork in case an officer asks for it. That's good enough for me. But I sure do get some dirty looks and I don't enjoy having to track down the guy who writes me ticket when I'm not around to defend myself. So far I've been lucky and haven't had to go to court to prove I have the right to park there. It would save me some headaches if there were disabled plates for a cycle.
  12. I tried to answer your PM but your mail box is full and won't accept anymore messages. You need to delete a few old ones. I also tried to send by E-mail but you have that disabled too. Let me know when you clean house and I'll reply again.
