1. From our house to yours, we wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS.
2. Salads and fruits
3. OK, so yesterday I plan to head out for a ride after church with a couple of buddies on my 98 RSTD. When I get to church I smell some gas but am unable to find any leaks. When I leave and we are heading over to fuel up I smell it again and now look down to see fuel pouring down the right side of the cases (also some on the left side but not as much). When I stop to check it out it quits when I shut the engine down. Never having seen this before I start it up and try and see what is up but can only see gas coming from what appears to be the crank case breather assembly. Of course this makes no sense so I head for the house. We stop to get something to eat and watch a little football, when I get back on the bike and head for the house I have no leak? Now I am beginning to think this must be a sticking float on one or more of the carbs, right? Need some advice first if there might be some other cause then also if I need to do a complete teardown on the carbs or will seafoam help this out? As always, thanks for the input.
4. Ron and I took those extra precautions for our health this winter. We both got our Flu shots! Then our Granddaughter, daughter and our son in law came to visit for Christmas. We have both been sick since the 26th of December. Just when we thought we were getting better we both had a relapse. I am afraid to go out of the house. Every one around here is sick. How about you? Hopefully, it is just us. Yama Mama
5. Two couples were playing cards. Jeff accidentally dropped some cards on the floor. When he bent down under the table to pick them up, he noticed that Dave's wife, Sandy, was not wearing any underwear! Shocked by this, Jeff hit his head on the table and emerged red-faced. Later when Jeff went to the kitchen to get some refreshments Sandy followed him and asked, "Did you see anything under the table that you liked?" Jeff admitted, "Well, yes I did." She said "you can have it, but it will cost you $100." After a minute or two, Jeff indicates that he is interested. She tells him that since Dave works Friday afternoons and Jeff doesn't, that Jeff should come to their house around 2:00 PM on Friday. Friday came and Jeff went to her house at 2:00 PM. After paying her the $100, they went to the bedroom, had sex for a few hours and then Jeff left. Dave came home about 6:00 PM and asked his wife, "Did Jeff come by this afternoon?" Totally shocked, Sandy replied, "Yes, he did stop by for a few minutes." Next Dave asked, "Did Jeff give you $100?" Sandy thought, 'Oh hell, he knows!' Reluctantly she said, "Yes, he did give me $100." "Good," Dave says. "Jeff came by the office this morning and borrowed the $100 from me and said that he'd stop by our house on his way home and pay me back. It's so good to have a friend you can trust."
6. A touching story on how men think…… As she sat by him, he whispered, eyes full of tears, "You know what? You have been with me all through the bad times. When I got fired, you were there to support me. When my business failed, you were there. When I got shot, you were by my side. When we lost the house, you stayed right here. When my health started failing, you were still by my side... You know what Martha?" "What dear?" she gently asked, smiling as her heart began to fill with warmth. "I'm beginning to think you're bad luck."
7. I received this from good buddy Ken Derrett aka 1-Up. Hope my family appreciates me now. LOL Dear Family, I’m not dead yet. Thanksgiving is still important to me. If being in my Last Will and Testament is important to you, then you might consider being with me for my favorite holiday. Dinner is at 2:00. Not 2:15. Not 2:05. Two. Arrive late and you get what’s leftover. Last year, that moron Marshall fried a turkey in one of those contraptions and practically burned the deck off the house. This year, the only peanut oil used to make the meal will be from the secret scoop of peanut butter I add to the carrot soup. Jonathan, your last new wife was an idiot. You don’t arrive at someone’s house on Thanksgiving needing to use the oven and the stove. Honest to God I thought you might have learned after two wives – date them longer and save us all the agony of another divorce. Now, the house rules are slightly different this year because I have decided that 47% of you don’t know how to take care of nice things. Paper plates and red Solo cups might be bad for the environment, but I’ll be gone soon and that will be your problem to deal with. House Rules: The University of Texas no longer plays Texas A&M. The television stays off during the meal. The” no cans for kids” rule still exists. We are using 2 liter bottles because your children still open a third can before finishing the first two. Parents can fill a child’s cup when it is empty. All of the cups have names on them and I’ll be paying close attention to refills. Cloe, last year we were at Trudy’s house and I looked the other way when your Jell-O salad showed up. This year, if Jell-O salad comes in the front door it will go right back out the back door with the garbage. Save yourself some time honey. You’ve never been a good cook and you shouldn’t bring something that wiggles more than you. Buy something from the HEB bakery. Grandmothers give grandchildren cookies and candy. That is a fact of life. Your children can eat healthy at your home. At my home, they can eat whatever they like as long as they finish it. I cook with bacon and bacon grease. That’s nothing new. Your being a vegetarian doesn’t change the fact that stuffing without bacon is like egg salad without eggs. Even the green bean casserole has a little bacon grease in it. That’s why it tastes so good. Not eating bacon is just not natural. And as far as being healthy… look at me. I’ve outlived almost everyone I know. Salad at Thanksgiving is a waste of space. I do not like cell phones. Leave them in the car. I do not like video cameras. There will be 32 people here. I am sure you can capture lots of memories without the camera pointed at me. Being a mother means you have to actually pay attention to the kids. I have nice things and I don’t put them away just because company is coming over. Mary, watch your kids and I’ll watch my things. Rhonda, a cat that requires a shot twice a day is a cat that has lived too many lives. I think staying home to care for the cat is your way of letting me know that I have lived too many lives too. I can live with that. Can you? Words mean things. I say what I mean. Let me repeat: You don’t need to bring anything means you don’t need to bring anything. And if I did tell you to bring something, bring it in the quantity I said. Really. This doesn’t have to be difficult. Dominos and cards are better than anything that requires a battery or an on/off switch. That was true when you were kids and it’s true now that you have kids. Showing up for Thanksgiving guarantees presents at Christmas. Not showing up guarantees a card that may or may not be signed. The election is over so I’ll watch what I say and you will do the same. If we all stick to that, we’ll have a good time. If not, I’ll still have a good time but it will be at your expense. In memory of your Grandfather, the back fridge will be filled with beer. Drink until it is gone. I prefer wine anyway. But one from each family needs to be the designated driver. I mean it
8. After 23 years we say goodbye to our old house. Its going to be different, considering we are only moving 1/2 mile away. Its going to be nice out here at the family farm again, but I am going to miss our old home. Lots of memories and 3 kids there. But we will make memories here as well.
9. After 7 closing attempts, My Bank Rep quitting, and the previous owner stealing everything that wasn't bolted down in the garage the day before we moved in, we finally got to sleep in our "new to us" house the first weekend in Sept! My 55 year old brother, my 75 year old uncle, my 16 year old nephew, and Jean and myself, gutted the house, hung 58 sheets of dry wall, all new carpet, vinyl flooring, oak laminate flooring, and a kitchen make over in 24 days. While I worked a 12 hour shift 6-7 days a week during the month of August. I have attached a few pics. I humbly apologize to anyone who has tried to contact me, or has purchased any items during the renovation of the new house, or the move in. Our computer service was just connected on Monday, and my "old" computer crashed a week before the move. I know that I owe a few people items from the Classifieds. Please bear with me, as we unpack the MANY boxes that have made the trek from the old to the new house. My email has changed, my address has changed, my computer has changed, but in short order, I hope to have everything up and running again. If you have recently purchased an item, please feel free to contact me thru a PM and as soon as the Psychic we hired arrives, I am sure we will find that box that has your parts in it, and get them right out to you!:crackup:Mark, (Mag1101) stopped by over the weekend to see if I was still kickin', and it was great to see a fellow VR.ORG member. There are still many things to do, but at least we are making progress. My new email address and address will be in my profile shortly, if you have an interest in the items in the Classifieds, please contact me directly thru a PM, the Paypal email address has NOT been changed in the ads yet. Thanks to all for their concern, and I hope to have my "New Shop" up and running in the coming months. Earl and Jean.
10. Just picked up a slightly used (maybe had 30 shots taken) Canon EOS Rebel T2i DSLR camera c/w 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 IS lens and a 55-250 f/4-5.6 IS lens. The 55-250 lens was new in the box. Came with a real nice Lowepro "backpack" case ... all for $640! Now I can really make my scoot look great! Shot of our Honeysuckle vine at full zoom which is appx 30 ft away Shot of the house next door after dark. The "fire" is the street light. You can barely see the house with your eye due to the darkness, except for their outside lighting.
11. Just a few pictures of out visit to Dad's house. Its been a great day.

Made it to San Antonio

OK, going on our 3rd week here. Getting things fixed up, resolving a couple of problems and trying to get shelter for the bike squared away. We've been able to get out a bit, but most of the time has been spent working on the property and house. Buddy's been a big help and I try not to hurt him too much. Anyone wanna come visit, the coffee is on.
13. I got a new dog to guard my house. It was a little more than I thought I should pay but I think when word gets out I'll be a relatively crime free neighborhood. The nice part is he is a year old and already fully trained. For your safety you might want to call the house from the driveway and in the safety of your car!
14. Okay, I cannot help myself. I am sitting here waiting for Brian (Golf&Venture) to get back to me, but since he went down 2 months ago, he moves slower than...well...you know. So, I am going to put it out there asking for responses. Brian would like to host a Meet & Greet at his house in Buckley, WA. next Sunday, August 12th. Yes, we know this is a short notice, but...it is the best timing we could come up with. Brian needs several hands on board to assist in unloading his totally crashed '91 Venture from the trailer. It is all at his house now, and he needs to get it unloaded. I offered, but he thinks we will need about 4 people. The idea is to have a barbeque at his house, next Sunday, August 12th, from noon to 4 pm. There will be burgers, chips, and drinks provided. If you would like to make a small donation to defer costs, that is appreciated, but not required. It is also a chance to have many of the Washington State riders, and anyone else from the Great Pacific Northwest...meet & greet. I will be bringing my new Carbtune Pro, and am willing to adjust/balance the carbs on anyones bike, or assist them if they want to learn...all for FREE. So, we are asking anyone that would like to attend a Meet & Greet at Brians' home in Buckley, WA. to please respond, so we can get an idea as to numbers. The address is: 23318 123rd St. Ct. E. Buckley, WA. 98321 If this works out well and we get several members to attend, we would like to make this an annual thing, and I would host the alternate year event at my own home. We will NOT be barbequeing any of my Llamas, Alpacas, or miniature Goats. Thanks, Miles
15. Yesterday was a real nice day. When I got home from work I was asked why I was so late, My answer was that the bike needed gas, even though I bought gas the day before. So then there were some letters that had to be postmarked that day so I jumped on the bike for the 1 mile trip to the post office. 3 hours later I got home.......... The house was dark, the boss had gone to bed already. For some reason I needed gas again on the way in to work today......... I don't know how that happens....... I was still getting dirty looks this morning as I was getting ready for work. But I feel so much better. I might just need more gas to get home today........
16. I just noticed on the calender that Dacheedah (Kevin) Has invited us to the boat races on the river and we can go to his house and watch the festivities. I think it sounds like a great time. Shirley and I signed up. Here is the link http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=322&day=2012-9-1&c=1
17. I heard it was loaded and on it's way to Big Tom's house... so sad..
18. I got a water leak under the house. It's on the back side which is low to the ground.I use to get under there fine but now I don't fit. So my options are 1. Dig a ditch to crawl in. 2.Jack up the house. 3.Loose some weight and try it in a couple months. 4. Hire a skinny plumber. I wonder why the electric bill increased. The submersible pump is running more often. This honey dooo list never gets finished.
19. Well,it seems that Shari decided to have a Venture M&E at the house while I'm on the west coast..:bang head: Scooter Bob and Lady Firefighter showed up and then A1Bummer came over.... The neighborhood will never be the same.... I should have locked up all my 1st Gen parts...... Their probobly having a rummage sale..... Sorry I missed you guys...... See ya in a couple of weeks at Wisconsin MD....
20. Short notice but tonight is Jimmy Buffett night at the Kankakee Boat Club. We share a fence with them and so when they have Jimmy Buffett night, we have Jimmy Buffett night. If you are in the area please stop by. Sorry for the short notice, bad week at work. For Labor Day Weekend, Boat Races behind the house or as we call it Nascar on the water. One turn is right behind the house and they start right next door so we have our own little private VIP section. They usually have bands at night also. Room for tents if you want to camp. http://www.kankakeeregatta.com/
21. The great folks at St. Jude called me yesterday and we set up a date for our annual ride to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The date is Oct. 6, 2012. We will meet at our usual place which is the Flying J Truck Stop in W. Memphis, Ark. We will meet there for 11:00 am that Sat. morning. We will have lunch there, then proceed over to St. Jude where they will be waiting for us to take a tour of the hospital and/or The Ronald McDonald House. If we have enough participation we will split the groups and tour the facility of your choice. I need to know how many members attending want to tour the hospital or the RM house. Here is the link to the poll to make your selection. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=688718#post688718 FLying J Truck Stop/Pilot 3400 Service Loop RD. 1-40 Exit 280/I-55 Exit 4 W. 23. Some of you know that the reason I haven't been on the site is that we haven't had internet at the new house. I ended up getting an AT&T Hotspot wifi transmitter that uses cell towers and 4G to get hooked up. It works but I'm not crazy about having to spend $60+ a month for internet. I have this thing for 30 days to try it, and if I want I can return it and get out of the contract (which I wont go into that rant) I need other options from y'all, I wont waste my money on Huges Net and besides what we have right now, that is the only other option. I'm too far from a distribution center to be able to get DSL, and dialup will just irritate me and I have enough irritants in my life right now. I am open for any ideas or suggestions you have
24. Found just what we were looking for,,, still some work to be done,,,,,OH crap!!! it's sold!!!
25. Yamaha Extreme Sports in Sumter, SC is having their 11th annual open house May 5. This year event is "Cinco de Mayo", a toco flavored fest. Door prizes and demos and free dyno tests. Any proceeds will benefit the Lupus Foundation (sponsered by the Sumter STAR Touring chapter). (Also their parts dept is pretty competitive on legit internet prices, tires, OEM accessories,,,. I usually bring in a "print page".) You have probably seen several on this forum with very good things to say about this "Yamaha only" dealer. So, head on in on 5/5, 9AM to 3PM. http://www.extremesportsyamaha.com/ Mike G in SC
