Today somehow while getting out of my SUV I got a shooting pain starting at my ankle and up my leg that almost put me on the ground. Just got back from Urgent care and I have a severely sprained ankle, I have never had so much pain, I thought I had broken something. So no work, no riding, no much of anything for a few days, it could be better by Monday or it may take a while have to use crutches, which I am not very good with........and to top it off, this was supposed to be a good day for me, but it was a rotten day, things didnt go well at work, my car didnt pass emissions test, had it tested to the tune of $94.00 to find out it was my gas cap, thats when I sprained my ankle, at the testing center. What a way to spend my birthday.

well the first of the year i was feeling good. then 2 days ago the gremlin got me. a slip and fall broke my right ankle. and twisted the knee. 6 weeks on crutches. for the ankle to heel. then something called gout settled in the big toe of the same foot. if any one has ever had this. i truly feel for you.. so here i sit. with a cast on the foot pain like the devil himself is useing a red hot poker on my foot. drugged out of my mind. all i can say is it has to get better.

Had an experience today, that just fries my butt. I have been disabled for 18 years. I have a handicap plate on both my Durango and my Venture Royale. Earlier today I had to stop by Home Depot and parked my bike in a disabled slot. I have mostly gotten used to people looking at me funny when I use these parking places. Today as I was getting ready to leave when an elderly guy stops and starts grilling me about using the spot. I started out being polite and pointed out my tag and he wants to know "how I can ride a bike IF I am disabled". I just replied that I am disabled not dead. Then he starts questioning me about the POW/MIA jacket I proudly wear and the flag I fly on my bike! He finally realized he had me pissed off. Some times I wish I had lost an leg or had some visible signs to "justify" my status. I guess to be fair he could not see the brace on my ankle, or the 12 screws and plates in my neck from a 3 level discectomy and fusion. I have to wear the brace because of a failed fusion in that ankle. I was in the hospital for 3 days for that little operation,,,, then 3 months back in the hospital due to blood clotts. Since I have chronic DVTs ( deep vien thrombosis ) no one will even try to fix my fracked up ankle. I can't even get the dental work I badly need because no one will touch me. I have been on coumadin for 15 years now, they tried to take me off and I had a pulmonary embolism plus kept thowing clotts. I apoligize for this rant, it is just that it helps to get this stuff off my chest. Thanks for listening; Don

Well i guess i will start with some good news some of you may have read a few weeks ago my better half had fallen on some ice and broke her ankle. after i posted this story on here about the accident and her not having insureance you guys gave me some great advice and after alot of red tape and paper work we found the right program for us to resolve this problem.. 2 weeks ago during some intence training for the national guard getting ready for my up-coming deployment i tore my rotator cuff so now we are both kinda leaning on each other just to make diner (not that i mind) i love being close to her. but the bad news is im 3 years from retireing from the army... this may make it sooner if i cant get this fixed to "army standard" and im getting those feelings of letting my soldiers down i dont think im going to be able to deploy with them due to this injury. My doc says the recovery time and theropy is about a 9 month progress but as of now im non-deployable... so thats how my year has started off hope everyone else's is going better. Ron P.S. Yammer Dan I told Kelli what you said about doing what the doctor said or YOU would be coming after her.. she said ok and sat on the couch and propped up her ankle lol she dont listen to me like that?????

rear end lowering kit installed... could I still add a trike kit? If needed in the future? My concern would be ground clearance? My ankle is slowly deteriorating after a couple of surgeries. -
As most of you may already know I had a little accident with my bike on Oct 12, 2007 after surgery on my ankle. The ortho doc gave me a photo of my ankle with the plate and screws. I hope this won't be too distasteful to see. i have added a couple pics of the bikes damage
