  1. David was in his 5th grade class when the teacher asked the children what their fathers did for a living. All the typical answers came up - fireman, policeman, salesman, office worker, etc.. David was being uncharacteristically quiet and so the teacher asked him about his father. “My father's an exotic dancer in a gay bar and he takes off all his clothes in front of other men. Sometimes, if the offer's really good, he'll make a date with some guy and go out with him for money.” The teacher, obviously shaken by this statement, hurriedly set the other children to work on some coloring, and took little David aside to ask him, "David? Is that really true about your father?" "No," said David, “ Actually, he's a performance engineer at Harley Davidson, but I was too embarrassed to say that in front of the other kids.
  2. Since Moped usually says all he wants for Father's Day is peace and quiet, I thought I would ask all you Dad's here what you would want? I offered to cook him the standing rib roast that has been setting in our freezer, but so far no reply. I know MiCarl wants my whipgirl photo! Yama Mama
  3. Fathers day present from my beautiful wife!
  4. Has anyone got one of these or seen one on a bike? I'm thinking about one for Fathers Day. Thanks for all the great help. http://www.ebay.com/itm/24-7-Color-Front-Grill-LED-Light-Bar-Knight-Rider-Style-Strip-Kit-and-Remote?item=190685030926&cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D3%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D9142756872837628597
  5. Some of you knew our oldest daughter, Dorothea, 41, one husband and 5 kids, was diagnosed with kidney cancer a short while ago. I forgot to ask for prayer at that time, but today she went through a successful operation to have one kidney removed and our prayers have been answered. So far all is well and she seems to be well, our requests have been answered once again. Sure good to know we are in the Fathers hands!!
  6. The Weather Channel says yesterday's east coast earthquake was caused by an unknown fault line running under D.C. and through Virginia. It is now being called Obama's Fault, though Obama will say it's really Bush's Fault. Other theories are that it was the founding fathers rolling over in their graves, or that what we all believed to be an earthquake was actually the effects of a 14.6 trillion dollar check bouncing in Washington. (I loved this one and just had to share it - thanks!!)
  7. What are your Father's Day plans? We are taking it easy at home. I bought some nice strip steaks, baked potatoes, and etc. If I have the time I will make Moped a nice lemon meringue pie. HAVE A HAPPY DAY! Yama Mama

  13. My wonderful and immensely talented wife, makes greeting cards. I have been after her to make cards that you folks here at VentureRider would appreciate and she did! Since it is getting on towards Father's Day, that is what we started with, but with Don's permission, we'd like to offer these for sale here. Just $3.00 each (free shipping) and you choose the card and then the sentiment you'd like on the inside. We have B-day, Fathers Day, Thank you, and well... look 'em over, you'll get the idea. It isn't that we are trying to be the next Hallmark, but selling a few helps support her mission of sending these to the troops in Iraq & Afghanistan. To date, she has sent nearly 40,000 to the troops, so they have cards to send home.
  14. Steve took these pictures. This is his ride report. I would have written one, but I was so tired after the long ride I slept (a lot). It was a great day though.
