  1. FYI Anyone going to Mexico. Just got our tickets to Mexico. Included was an advisory that hotels and businesses may refuse to accept American cash. They will accept credit cards. We are advised to carry Canadian dollars, Pesos or credit cards.
  2. Well, I have my BikeMP3 player installed and I have tunes, but what a struggle! Check out my posting on another forum. http://www.goldwingowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7169 When I ordered the MP3 player, I thought I would get the "music populating" software on a CD, didn't read the whole thing, did not understand it was a download. When I could not get the download to work, I gave up on it. I loaded CD's into windows media player and worked with SD cards from there. Player is mounted on left side of travel trunk, 2nd card is in small case . Both attached with velcro.
  3. There's good news for those of us who need an mp3 player for our Venture cassette deck. The company has updated the old player to now accept SCHC cards, and it is available for $24.00 now. The web site to order this player is: http://usb.brando.com/usb-cassette-mp3-player-ii_p01481c035d15.html
  4. Happy Thanksgiving to my VR family from the Ruffy family!!!! Were celebrating Thanksgiving today since Jean has to work Thanksgiving day. At least were thankful we both still have jobs. Spent the whole morning cooking. Hmmmm, maybe a nice Thanksgiving day ride is in the cards for me tomorrow. Temps should be in the high 70's with an abundance of sunshine!!!!
  5. This may be politically incorrect, but here it goes: Get your stamped card ready and hold it until two weeks before Christmas and the mail it. THIS ONE IS FOR A GOOD CAUSE..PLEASE PASS IT ON Pass this on to your church, co-workers, family, and friends. What do you have to lose but 44 cents, what do you have to gain ----------- more than you will ever know. What a clever idea! Yes, Christmas cards. This is coming early so that you can get ready to include an important address to your list. Want to have some fun this CHRISTMAS? Send the ACLU a CHRISTMAS CARD this year. As they are working so very hard to get rid of the CHRISTMAS part of this holiday, we should all send them a nice, card to brighten up their dark, sad, little world. Make sure it says "Merry Christmas" on it. Here's the address, just don't be rude or crude: ACLU 125 Broad Street , 18th Floor New York , NY 10004 Two tons of Christmas cards would freeze their operations because they wouldn't know if any were regular mail containing contributions. So spend 44 cents and tell the ACLU to leave Christmas alone. Also tell them that there is no such thing as a " Holiday Tree". It's always been called a CHRISTMAS TREE! And pass this on to your email lists. We really want to communicate with the ACLU! They really DESERVE us!! For those of you who aren't aware of them, the ACLU, (the American Civil Liberties Union) is the one suing the U.S. Government to take God, Christmas or anything religious away from us. They represent the atheists and others in this war. Help put Christ back in Christmas!

  7. Looking for a Windshield cover with area for pamphlets, business cards.
  8. My wonderful and immensely talented wife, makes greeting cards. I have been after her to make cards that you folks here at VentureRider would appreciate and she did! Since it is getting on towards Father's Day, that is what we started with, but with Don's permission, we'd like to offer these for sale here. Just $3.00 each (free shipping) and you choose the card and then the sentiment you'd like on the inside. We have B-day, Fathers Day, Thank you, and well... look 'em over, you'll get the idea. It isn't that we are trying to be the next Hallmark, but selling a few helps support her mission of sending these to the troops in Iraq & Afghanistan. To date, she has sent nearly 40,000 to the troops, so they have cards to send home.
  9. Watching the Mets and Cards...game has been on over five hours...an outfielder just pitched the top of the inning for the Cards. Amazing!

    TWIC

Another Failed Goverment Program TWIC=Transportation Worker Identification Credential. A passport would not do...driver license would not do...So they developed the TWIC card. This is happening all over the place. We have to have them before entering some ports, before boarding vessels, and offshore production platforms. Requires (more than passport) multiple forms of ID ...finger printing...back ground check and a big long process to get, along with $132. Got a recent DWI, or past Drug charge or other spec of dirt on your record...prettty good chance you will be DENIED. These contain RFID like the new passports to transmitt all your personal data. See this from the news. Two men face charges after allegedly using fake TWIC ID cards to work at the Port of Fourchon, LA. The men, Ernesto Cordova, 25, and Roosevelt Amores, 32, were reportedly charged with illegal entry into critical infrastructure, in addition to invalid driver’s license charges after a security employee noticed several misspelled words on the fake TWIC cards. “It was a pretty good duplication,” Callais told the Houma Courier. “Only with the trained eye would you see there were some differences between that and a regular TWIC.” The men also are under suspicion for being the in U.S. illegally, the Courier newspaper also reported. According to the article, Harbor Police Chief Jon Callais said that the guard’s port training helped him zero in on the suspected workers. The Courier article didn’t say how many days the pair had used the fake TWIC cards to illegally enter the port, but the Port of Fourchon had been requiring TWIC cards for access for nearly a month at the time of arrest. Police said the men worked for the Danos and Curole offshore-service company. Callais told the New Orleans City Business publication in 2007 that Port Fourchon was vulnerable to terrorism at that time because it had “no cargo tracking system, no incoming vessel identification, no gates and no way to track workers.”
  11. I was having a problem with keeping the bike running so I took it to the shop. They said they took the carbs off and that they were gummed up. Bike is an 07 with 37K. I did a 6000 mile ride out to Sturgis and back and didn't have any problems until the last day coming home. That morning it didn't want to stay running. I got it running and rode it back home with no more problems. The bike sat for maybe 4 days and I went to go ride and could not get the darn bike to stay running. I pulled the choke out and it would run full choke for a min or two and then cut off. I let it sit for a few hours and then went back out and pulled the choke and got the bike to run high ideal then pushed the choke in and it was running fine. Now the bike has sat for maybe 2 or 3 days and it is doing the same things. I can not keep the bike running with full choke or without choke. Does anyone have any ideas of what might be causeing this. The bike does have K&N filters been on for over a year now, road king pipes been on since 700 miles, AIS has been plugged then unplugged. I have replaced the fuel filter right before the cards got cleaned. I checked the fuel pump it is still pulling a sucktion. All fuel lines are conected and in good condition. I replaced the spark pulgs right before the cards got cleaned. I personal don't know what else could be the issue other than the cards wont tuned correct and the jets are back and not shemmed correct. I am by no means a mechanice but I do know how to do many things by reading our tech forums and the manuals. If anyone can help please speak up. Thanks so much in Advance. Robert 'TheKid'
  12. I have an older Dell laptop with an SD slot. Like many others, it will not take the new high capacity SD cards. The hardware has a 2GB limit. I also can't read other cards. I have a big multi-card reader on my docking port at home. So, I went hunting. I came up with a Targus brand adapter. It reads the HC cards without any drivers. It is a 32 in 1 reader with a USB cord. Very small - about the size of a large matchbook. Uses a standard mini usb plug like a lot of other items. Targus TGR-CRD25 Wal Mart for $12.95 It also reads the MMC and XD cards (Like in your camera PONCH) JB
  13. I have to purchase a software program for our office that has greeting cards, etc. You all know I am not a computer wiz...so I need some advice. What program is easy for someone like me to install/use. My computer is a Vista. We send a lot of corporate birthday cards, Christmas wishes but also personal cards. I would also like to be able to use photographs that we have taken and use them in the cards. Anyone have any advice? I really need an easy program to use.
  14. Yeah yeah, I know its not motorcycle related. I figured I would give any puckheads here a shot a some of this stuff before I EBAY it or whatever I decide to do with it. I am going to move to Florida and am gonna sell of a bunch of stuff I dont wanna drag along with me. If anyone is interested I have tons of autographed hockey pics and cards that I have collected over the years. Some of the stuff I have is: Gordie Howe, Wayne Gretzky (this is framed 8x10 with a die cut icon card included and a stat sheet), Rocket Richard, Terrible Ted Lindsey, Grant Fuhr, Bobby Hull, Brett Hull, Forsberg, Sakic, John Leclair. A Roy Sakic and Lemieux holding the Conn Smythe, Gump Worsley, Boom Boom Geoffrion, Bernie Parent, Mark Mesier, Tony Twist, Dominik Hasek...blah blah blah. 17. Hey Folks, We pretty much all know that my '99 is done for. I do not expect to get another G2 this year as I am going to pay debt down this year and my insurance money will pay off Credit cards. What I have is some custom items and aftermarket chrome from the '99. I'll post up some pics of what I have when I get back from the Chiropractor and we'll see if I can get some items to those of you that want them.
  18. Just a quick note to let everyone know that I finally got released from the hospital today. I still have to go for therapy but at least I get to sleep at home every night now. Thanks again for all the prayers and good thoughts. Also for all the cards, phone calls and hospital visits. You folks are the best. Gary
  19. any blank note cards they would be willing to donate. I asked Grey Ghost for a list of items which he thought would be appreciated by the members serving in the Middle East. One of the items he recommended was blank general usage cards that they can write a short message in to send out to friends and family. I have contacted Hallmark to see if we can make a bulk purchase at cost. I am also going to contact Leaning Tree with a similar request. In the meanwhile, if you are like me (perish the thought) you are probably being bombarded with requests from every imaginable charitable group in the country. Well, in a lot of the solicitations I get, they include a stack of cards and note pads. So, I was thinking (and that is where I start getting into trouble) that if any of the members here had some of those cards that they would like to donate to a good cause, maybe you could just send them to me and I can include them in the packages we are putting together. If you can help, it would be greatly appreciated........
