  1. Decals are ordered, paid for and on the way. I should have them in 10 days and will get them right out to you. Please get your orders placed to help me defray the initial outlay of cash. See this thread for ordering information. I had to order quite a few to keep the price down to where it was so any of you who can order and pay now will be appreciated. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/venturerider-merchandise/39088-venturerider-domed-decals.html
  2. Hi all, I just got sticker shock from Allstate in CA. I was ok paying in the 3's but $437 WITH over $200 in "discounts"? time to shop. This is with perfect driving record and having my motorcycle license for 46 years. Who is your carrier and how much do you pay annually for full coverage as below: Coverage detail for 2007 Yamaha Xvz13tf Liability Insurance Bodily Injury $250,000 each person $500,000 each accident Property Damage $100,000 each accident Collision Insurance Actual cash value $250 Comprehensive Insurance Actual cash value $250 Uninsured Motorists Insurance for Bodily Injury $250,000 each person $500,000 each accident Total premium for 2007 Yamaha Xvz13tf $437.39 VentureFar...
  3. number. Yep, the one ticket that I bought had the number 6 as the powerball number, which matched. Therefore, I doubled my investment!!!! :cool10: So, when I cash in my ticket I will get $4 back on my $2 investment. I just have to be careful that I don't make a special trip and spend $2 on gas to cash it in. RandyA

    Mexico

Just got back from Mexico. Before I left I posted info about a flyer I got with my airline ticket about not taking U.S. cash to Mexico. I now have more information. Please do not shoot the messenger. I am just passing on the info I was given. When we arrived at the hotel they informed us that the Mexican government is very concerned about the amount of U.S. cash in Mexico. Between tourism and drugs it has affected the value of the Peso. The Mexican government is PROPOSING to order banks not to accept American cash. This will not affect credit or debit cards but businesses will no longer take U.S. cash. This will do two things...1. strengthen the Peso and 2. All those drug lords with untold millions in American cash will be stuck with worthless paper. Another thing they PROPOSE to do is tighten up their border to cut down on all the guns being smuggled into Mexico from the U.S. I do not know if they will actually do these things. While we were there the business owners told us that tourism has changed a lot there. Only 3% of the tourists are now from the U.S. while 46% are from Canada with the rest being from Europe. They will still accept Canadian cash.
  5. Had to run by the local Yammy shop to pick up oil and filter for the scoot. Saw a new 2012 Victory Cross Country Tour. Randy said take it around the block while I get your stuff. BIG mistake. My RSV has power, but this thing could scare the bejeebers out of me. Wish Yamaha would get it together and update. If I had the extra cash I might be riding something different today, but mines paid for. Anyone else ride it and like it? Or am I just slobbering over something that won't last.
  6. I have a 1942 belt drive, Atlas Lathe that I completely rebuilt, and is my pride and joy. The 70 year old, 1/2 HP AC motor that came with the lathe, has finally "gone to heaven", just this past weekend. I would like to put a DC motor, and variable speed controller on this lathe, and bring it into the 21st century. I DO NOT have a very good understanding of DC motors, or the controllers. Could someone PLEASE help me with the selection of a motor and controller? Or, if you have a motor and controller, and would like to trade for some upgraded parts, or S.S. Brake Lines, or good old American cash. I really could use some help with this project. I know I can purchase a new AC motor, but the thought of changing the speed on this lathe, by twisting a knob, is very high on my "Must Have" list right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Earl
  7. FYI Anyone going to Mexico. Just got our tickets to Mexico. Included was an advisory that hotels and businesses may refuse to accept American cash. They will accept credit cards. We are advised to carry Canadian dollars, Pesos or credit cards.
  8. Tried to turn down my rear rotor at work. To take the edge off , but thought what the heck I will just do it all. Well that wasn't the thing to do. Didn't look bad when done, but it pulses bad. It will wear down again, but real hard to do slow turns. Didn't know if someone triked theirs lately that would still have one. Don't have cash for a new one and on ebay there is only three on there. Which none of them are very cheap. Any help I would be thankful for.
  9. For the folks staying at the Ponderosa Campground for the Cody Rally. Just checked with the campground to confirm my reservation and they still DO NOT accept credit cards. Cash or personal checks only.
  10. Is there a reason why MONEY isn't offered? You could split the winnings to operating expenses in any percentage you wanted... if you need $400 for the event, then anything over that would be paid out. If it's not illegal, that would be my preference, as that way, you could spend it on whatever you needed, wether it was on a particular "list" or not... Just food for thought... ___________ Far as I can tell searching the internet, giving cash is not against the law for a raffel, as long as you report the winnings "regardless of wether it's a trailer or cash" to our dear IRS. LOL... ____________ Dragonrider, any word yet on the money as a prize? Also noticed It wasn't in the international rally either? When I approached the organizers for that, they said they considered it and rejected it. I'm not trying to stirr something up, besides your ability to generate more funds for this rally. I quit buying gifts for the family long ago and they each get money so that they can buy what they want. Not what I think they want, as I'm not a good guesser... I don't usually participate in raffels as I don't want or need a trailer, laptop etc... On the other hand, money is the Universal Language

I have a 96 4x4 Suzuki x90 5 speed and some cash if someone has a 99 or 2000 plus they don't ride any more. I am not interested in anything but a 2nd Gen RSV, just spoiled now. 16. This was in today's paper about a local guy doing custom laser etched and illuminated motorcycle windshields. http://www.jsonline.com/business/94886274.html http://www.illumatek.com/ I don't know if he can or will do a Venture windshield and I would not pay that kind of cash right now but it is still really cool.

i might have spelled it wrong? tonight my nephew called me to ask me about a combat wombat motorcycle? has a chrome gas tank. and is in fair condition. hes been shoveling snow and doing chores for a neighbor who broke his hip. the man offerd him this motorcycle and about 200.00 cash for all the help he has been doing so far. so i might be spelling it wrong and cant find any info on it. so my questions are 1=can he still get and find parts for this bike 2= who built these bikes are they a honda knock off? 3 = how do i find the cc on this bike he said the owner states it a 250? 4 bike turns over but its like kicking a mule? 5= a lever on the left handlebar could it be a compression release? i dont want him getting ripped off. he works about 4 hrs a day for this man. since november. bringing food running erands. all for a little gas money. with the knowledge that he wanted this bike. and 200.00 to maybe throw into it. last year someone stole a kawasaki kdx from him. hes been devestated since then. corn detassling in high heat. only to have that bike for less then a month. i cant help him no more since i cant work. to give him any money for a better dirt bike. he realy wants a duel purpose bike for around $400.00 to $500. he should have saved up by spring?. being a teenager it might not happen he will have that cash LOL. just asking if anyone heard of these bikes and where they good ones can you get pistons and stuff just it case this thing goes south?

    30% Discount!

Fellow riders: Microsoft wants to get people to use their "Live" search (competition for Google). So they are offering what is called "Cash Back". Here's the deal 1. You must have a Ebay account 2. You must have a Paypal account 3. You must go to http://search.live.com/cashback and get a chashback account. Then: (These are important) 1. Go to http://www.live.com/ and search for whatever product you want. If it is a qualified product you will see the "Cash Back" logo. 2. Click on the product and it will take you to the Ebay listing (DO NOT go to the Ebay listing without using LIVE or it won't work. 3. Buy your product the normal way paying through Paypal. You will notice the "Cash Back". 4. You will be charged the full amount - and in 30-60 days you will get your "Cash Back" deposited into your Paypal account. This is so that people do not return the product and they get ripped off. So far I have $251.99 - that I have saved..... Please keep in mind - I have no stake in this - I just use it. Make sure you read the terms and conditions and they are something you can live with... Have fun! Shep
  23. Folks, some of you may know about this and some may not. It is totally up to you if you want to try it or not, but I use it and have received checks from it. The website is www.mrrebates.com . This site has numerous stores, vacations, credit cards you can choose from. All of which gives you a percentage back based on how much you spend. So if you do a lot of shopping online like I, you could receive a nice check back. Not only do you get cash back, you also get the same specials that store is offering as well. They have all the major stores (Best Buy, Wal Mart, etc.). Just look for the percentage you get back on the right hand side to see how much money you could earn. It takes about 90 days for your cash to clear and once you get $20 in your account, you just request your check and it's in the mail to you. All you need is your email account to start. They don't spam you to death either. Only emails you will receive is when you have cash pending and weekly specials if you choose to get them. Worth a try. Hope to help save some folks cash during this time of the year. Chris
