  1. I have a few extra coils up for grabs, ask and they are yours!!
  2. Not sure if I am asking in the right place but does anyone have any extra headsets that they want to sell that will plug into my "06" Thanks, Kenny
  3. Without going into details....... The handlebar mounted radio/CB control box got broken off. Does anyone have an extra they would consider parting with?
  4. Got this in my Inbox... Now through Nov. 15th receive an extra 10% off any order placed online at www.stadiumyamaha.com Just type in GIVEME10 in the coupon code at time of check out and you will get the extra 10% off.
  5. Nice to know that I am at least going to get an hour of extra snooze. Don't forget to move back your clocks tonight for 1 hour.
  6. Always cracks me up. Well, as long as it's not costing me a bunch of money to make right. I just bought a dang near new HF Tag-A-Long right. I got it cheap enough. I knew when I looked at it I had a few things to deal with. The coupler was crushed into the tongue as the PO had not used washers to shim the couple and it has pulled in so tight the latch for the ball would not move without being pried down with a pry bar. I had to remove the hitch and the latch assembly to get it over the ball when I hooked up. Got that corrected today. One handed hookup now. When saw the trailer the first time I knew something was not right with the wiring. I'm no whiz kid when it comes to electrical but I was pretty sure there were too many wires coming into, through the frame and into the tailight housings. I was right. More than needed. There was an extra wire with a female crimp on connector that ran forward with the 4 wire trailer plug. My best guess at first glance was maybe an extra ground wire. I chased it today and it ran through the frame and was spliced and split into both taillight housings. Holes had been drilled and the wires ran inside. I pulled the lens off both sides and it all made sense. And extra 1156 bulb had been installed in both housings. Not to mention one of the 1156 bulbs had come apart and was laying in the bottom. I hooked up a fused jumper wire and powered the extra wire from the front. Blew da fuse. Pulled the wire and it was cut into where the wire ran thought the holes in the frame with zero protection. Nice. So I can kind of understand the thinking here...... maybe the PO just wanted a couple running lights at the rear. Went the hard way about it in my mind. Now when he hits his lights he had (2) 1157's, (2) 1156's and (4) 194 wedge bulbs lit up. Then add the brake lights and the voltmeter has to be taking a nose dive into the red. I'm seeing why the PO may have been happy to trade off the damn near new Tag-A-Long and be done with it. Can't hook it up, throwing sparks and some lights had quit working and the battery was probably taking a beating. I got to admit, I'm enjoying the old "His loss, my gain" moment. Oh, and I checked the zerks and one was not only missing but a plug had been installed in the hole. Nice touch. Mike
  7. At our club bike night last night, a guy and his wife showed up on a 2001 RSV with pillow top seats. My wife noticed that the pillow top passenger seat is a good 4 to 6 inches wider than our stock 2000 seat. So... is it a wider seat base or is that just extra padding adding to the width? A wider seat base would give more support but extra padding at the sides doesn't look to me like it would make much of a difference in comfort as there would be little, if any, extra support. Anyone? Andy
  8. Anyone ever run a Dunlop 404 on the rear. I have a wheel and tire that I got from Pinwall that has a brand new 404 on it. I just wanted the extra rim for $100 bucks and was thinking about going to the darkside.
  9. I'm in need of a new windshield and was wondering if those of you with the Baggershield could tell me ... is there any kind of breeze or ventilation coming through the joint where the two parts meet? I was thinking of going with a wider Clearview with the vent to get that extra bit of a breeze when the temps hit around 32 C. (90 F) - like today for instance. From what I've read here, my wife may get a break from some of the buffeting with the wider shield, but that extra breeze would be nice in the heat. Yeah, I know, I'm getting old and wimpy but hey - we've paid our dues - now we deserve a little comfort. Anyway, with the sale on at Baggershield, that shield looks a bit more interesting to me now. Andy
  10. My cheapo HF bandsaw finally bit the dust over the weekend so now its time to replace it. Anyone here have a Grizzly brand saw care to comment on quaility, model, etc. After looking thru their web site I'm considering the G96742 model - http://www.grizzly.com/products/4-x-6-Metal-Cutting-Bandsaw-w-Swivel-Head/G9742 I've also looked at this one online - http://www.boltonhardware.com/category/bolton-tools/saws/band-saws/horizontal-vertical-combination-bandsaws/5-inch-x-6-inch-metal-cutting-bandsaw-with-swivel-head.php Jet model saws were nice too but averaging an extra $250-300. It seems once you get past the basic 4x6 HF types costs go up rapidly. As much metal as I cut I'm wanting something with decent quality without breaking the bank. Larry

  12. a 1500 radio antenna that screws to the base. I don't need the base just the part that screws into it the whip part. If anyone has an extra they want to get rid of let me know and will make a deal. Joe
  13. Since my beloved Motorvation Trailer got legs and walked off I've been dilegently shopping for a replacement. I ran across this one and am having a hard time figuring out just exactly what the make and model is. The seller says it's an Escapade Elite, but when I check the website I find nothing that matches it. The current models all have a rear end that looks the same but the front end with the extra hatch isn't there. So now I wondering if this is really an Escapade?? I like the looks, and the seller states it's never been used. He also added he was the second owner??? I might also add, the title on the thing looks a little iffy.... I've been down the title road before, and do know when to walk away. Any input would be appreciated...
  14. when we've got a long, fun ride coming up. Two years ago, when our local riding group was heading to Boise for a rally, she took the opportunity to demand a little extra attention. She started spitting fuel from the overflow. After a few attempts to fix the issue on the bike, I came time to install the spare set. I enjoyed the ride the put the original (rebuilt) set back on. All good! Time for another rally, this time in St. George where we can ride Zions Natl Park, North Rim of the Grand Canyon, etc. She's starting to insist on some extra attention..... new tires, front and rear, brake pads all around. Got the new tires on yesterday....nice ride improvement. Today I put in the new rear pads and then moved to the front (right) brakes. All was going well until one of the four pistons wouldn't press back in. I tried everything I could, clamps, water pump pliers.... lucky to have a spare caliper, so, I switched them out. Installed the new pads and bled the line. All is good. Time to go spend a week riding in just a couple of weeks.
  15. Now... I've got the parts I should replace (courtesy of Venturers tech page... hehe..) but I noticed a step I cannot do. On my YVR 90 I cannot seem to--with the CLASS control panel) reduce PSI to 0--of course on manual. It will at best decrease to 6, and even then the system pumps a extra psi in. Their another manual way? Or is it because I'm not really off the ground on the center stand?
  16. Looks like I have to put the old girl up for sale soon. As of today, I just cannot see me riding it again. It has tons of extra accessories and its been a real blast. Ill make a decision by the end of the day after I talk it over with my family.
  17. Had to run by the local Yammy shop to pick up oil and filter for the scoot. Saw a new 2012 Victory Cross Country Tour. Randy said take it around the block while I get your stuff. BIG mistake. My RSV has power, but this thing could scare the bejeebers out of me. Wish Yamaha would get it together and update. If I had the extra cash I might be riding something different today, but mines paid for. Anyone else ride it and like it? Or am I just slobbering over something that won't last.
  18. Can anyone use these, I have 2 extra sets of keys now that I don't need how after rekeying the locks on the saddlebags. Key #A7766 A7933
  19. I have been agonizing over what to get for new tires. Avons have served me well for the last 9000 miles but it's time for new rubber. I have not had a cracking issue with the Avons like lots of others but it is a concern. Dunlop E 3's seem to be the number two choice. Last week I took the RSV to a friends place and we weighed the front and rear wheels separately. Here are the results. The bike weighed a total of 911#. This is with the typical accessories, trunk rack, bag guards, Passing lamps etc. Also basic tools, rain gear etc. that we all carry and 3/4 tank of gas. Out of that 911# the front was 382# and the rear 529#. Then I parked my 220# butt on the bike and did the tippy-toe thing for the next weights. 1,130# total, 446# front and 684# rear. Here is the interesting part, (and you have to assume that about 85-90% of the passenger weight and 100% of the bag and trunk weight goes on the rear tire) with a stock rear tire Dunlop 404-74H you have 143# left for passenger, luggage and stuff. Pretty close to the 419# GVWR. With a Dunlop E-3-77H you get an extra 81# or a total of 224# left over. Probably a safe number for most of us. Assuming that Manufactures leave a little fudge factor in the ratings, I still will be going with the Avon 80H to get that extra 84# over the E-3 for a total of 308# for passenger and extra stuff.
  20. Was wondering what do people carry the extra gas for a long trip in....
  21. With Annie and Al being here Friday afternoon and night, maybe we can grill some burgers and visit. So, if anyone would like to stop by, you are welcome. And, I will have an extra bedroom that can be available also if anyone else wants to stop by on the way to Asheville. This is kind of short notice, so we will just see what we can throw together. RandyA
  22. So I borrowed my Vmax back and let my buddy take the Venture for a week. It's been a few months now since I sold it. I climbed on the Vmax and it felt like a toy! Light, easy to change direction and the POWER! Haha First time I wound it thru first and hard into second it stood right up. I giggled my butt off till about 30 miles into my ride.... then the pain set in. The rearsets never seemed so extreme and the seat was like concrete. It was nice to have the wind in my face again but it was an odd experience to say the least. I guess that explains why the Venture is already gaining miles. Also explains how I managed 600 miles back home last week without being crippled. So now I need an extra 50 HP on my Venture. My Vmax dynoed at 135 HP or so I think the Venture needs to have more cause of the extra weight the Venture is wearing. Maybe after the warranty is up? Frank
  23. Does anybody have the I-Pilot on their trolling motor ? I just bought a CoPilot but am seriously considering an I-Pilot for the extra features. Anybody have any experience with one ?
  24. I was at a long on ramp entering the freeway. A friend was directly behind me and the road ahead was clear. So I just couldn't resist and I got on it. I heard his pipes open up so I new he was on it to. When we talked later He said he was going to blow by me but it turned out he was loosing ground instead. Thing is I didn't have the throttle cranked all the way. One or two of my horses were still in the stable in reserve. His bike is an 09 Ultra Classic. He spent a considerable amount of money for a 103 stage 2 kit plus a new ignition computer, Screamin' Eagle mufflers and extra dyno time. In his defense though I have put a lot of extra chrome on my RSV. And everybody knows chrome makes them faster I just didn't realize how much until now. Mike
  25. Is there anyone that possibly has an 86-89 serviceable TCI they are willing to sell or ???? I have an extra but am not too confident it is good. I suppose I could swap them out to find out if the extra TCI I have is operational, but......that involves extra time, something I don't have a lot of these days. The TCI on my 86 works 100% but since I plan on keeping this bike forever, I would like to have another on-hand. This is my sweetheart, is absolutely flawless and beautiful so I really don't mind spending on her.
