  3. Anyone ever run a Dunlop 404 on the rear. I have a wheel and tire that I got from Pinwall that has a brand new 404 on it. I just wanted the extra rim for $100 bucks and was thinking about going to the darkside.
  4. Looking for a new set of tires. Seen the Shinko Tourmaster 230. Didnt know about them. Been using The Dunlop 404 but go though a rear every summer. I do get about 10,000 to 12,000 out of the rear. Most of the time 2up.
  5. I'm looking at some new tires for my RSV. I've found a Dunlop 404 for the rear and the size says 150/90B15 H74. I'm not sure what the "B" stand for? I also found a 404 for the front and the size does not have the "B" in it.
  6. Four questions. Where's the best place to get one? What size do I need? 2007 second gen. Whats the best MC front tire to use with the Kumho? (I like the dunlop 404) or will the dunlop elite II or III going to get me that much better milage? I have 3/16 tread left on the Dunlop 404 rear and 5/32 on a Dunlop 404 front. Am heading to Florida in April to watch the launch... about a 3000 mi ride down and back... So don't think they are gonna make it the whole way...
  7. I plan on going to the darkside next summer. I ordered an extra wheel so that if I didn't like it I could just change back with no problem. I like having a spare rear wheel anyway. I ordered it from http://www.pinwallcycle.com/ and received it yesterday. The wheel was is great shape for a used wheel and it only took four days for delivery. I paid $89 plus 33 shipping and the tire on the wheel looks brand new. It's a dunlop 404 so I'm not sure if I will run it or sell it. I heard the 404 is not that good of a tire for our bike. Anyway if your looking for used parts they are a very good source.
  8. I just had the rear tire replaced on our 2000 RSV that we bought last spring. The guy that did the work said that the Dunlop 404 that was on there was too light of tire. Now have E3 on back. Amazing, what a difference in handling and ride. The front tire is a 404 with about half tred left. Will replacing the front with a E3 improve the ride as much as what the rear did? The guy at the shop said to run it out and replace it when it needs to be.
  9. I have a set of D 404 WW and I've got 8000 miles on them. The back still has 40%. I've always set them at 40 lbs
  10. I'll try to make this short, but allot happened in 6 hours at Columbia Power Sports Honda. My Dunlop 404 went bald two weeks ago after a long ride on the BRP. I was behind the eight ball and needed a tire installed yesterday. The Honda shop has free tire installation on Weds in Aug. Settled on the Elite III, they had one in stock. Showed up and waited a while before getting RSV on lift. New tire installed. The shop manager looks at the tire and tells me they accidently installed a 404. WHAT? My 404 didnt last long enough, I wanta Elite III. No problem. Bike goes back on lift. 404 comes off and I notice the guy struggling with the E III. Manager tells me the E III was shipped with packaging holding the side walls pinched together. They normally need to set them in the sun to soften them up before mounting. Another thing, it is a 80, not a 90, which hurts mounting also. They tried every trick in the book. Two hours later and a 2 mad Mechs, they gave up. OK, put a Vemon on. We only have that 404. OH Brother !!! No other options so they put the 404 back on rim. Set me back &132.00 OTD. I will say this. The Honda dealer has a very friendly staff and I even drove a simulator (cool). As last thread stated, talked to a SC HP biker and other salesmen. They only had good things to say about the RSV. So that was my day at the Honda shop. Next time Sleeperhawk and dave will have the honor. The good news, I'm headin for Vogel this morning. YEEEE- HAAAA

  12. Well, I finally bought new tires. I lost a chunk out of my rear tire last fall in a tire eating pothole. It was almost time to replace them anyways. I've been so busy that I didn't get around to taking the wheels off until this past week. I stopped into The Hitching Post in South Saint Paul to see what it would cost to mount tires. It turned out they actually had the Dunlop 404 WWW in stock. So I hurried home pick up my wheels and rushed back to drop them off before they closed at 7pm. I figured I'd pick them up Saturday. I got back there 5 minutes before they closed and they offered to mount them while I waited. I was surprised. So what the heck I waited. Twenty minutes later I had new tires. Oh, and they had killer prices on the tires. The rear was about $91 and the $89 for the front and $35 per tire to mount and balance. Not bad. Yeah, the mounting are big city prices, but that's where I live. Still a much better deal than the last time I bought tires. So Saturday will most likely be reassemble day, unless it's nice outside then I will be working on building my fence. So I'm actually hoping for rain. I have leveling links, tires, back-off light flasher, trailer wiring and new exhaust to install. I'm replacing my Bub's with stock pipes for the year.
  13. I put a new Dunlop 404 on last year, I put about 3500 miles on it and it needs to be replaced. Is that a little low miles for a new tire.
