  1. A HUGE THANK YOU! To everyone who purchased this spacer. I assume all are satisfied with it, your feedback/comments in the classified ad would be greatly appreciated. As much as I hated to do it, I had to increase the price by $5. I lost my connection for aluminum and cheap shipping rates. Bill W.
  2. Is this a good upgrade for the 05 RSTD? I know so little about the bike,I don't even know if this is possible. I want it to handle as good as possible. any input would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Seems a lot of people seem to like the EBC FA179HH front and FA123 rear but 2 sites said HH did not go with our bike and recommended the FA179V semi sintered for our bike has anybody went with these still would probably go organic rear to help soften the lock up. Any input would be appreciated quite confused right now. Also spark plug $3 standard or $10 iridium have to pull the tank to install passing lamps so want all the parts to be ready for spring.
  4. Hey guys finally got all my speakers installed abd they sound great! I did however manage to lose two of those bolts that hold the speaker in place. They're kind of a special bolt and I'm wondering if anyone knows where to find these? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance
  5. Want to take a moment and thank all of you for being there throughout this past year...my first year with my 1st Gen VR! Your help has been very much appreciated! Wishing you Happy Holidays... and... Health, Wealth and Happiness for the coming New Year! david
  6. Once again I find the manual lacking enough info for a lowly so-so mechanic such as myself to get a job done without help. Is there anywhere on this forum that has a good description and hopefully pictures that can take me through the dismantaling process of the front cowling so I can get to the steering head bearings which I need to change. The quick fix of tightening the steering nut was not good enough to remove looseness. Bought roller bearings from Skydoc for the job. Any help would be appreciated.
  7. Hi new to your site and am looking for some information from the experts here. I am going to look at a 1987 Venture Royal on Sunday and hoped that someone would be kind enough to tell me what some of the known issues or problems are related to that model, things to look for etc. Any help is appreciated........
  8. So I finally got my class fixed(thank you to everyone for your help), and my front forks still dive and bottom out when I hit the brakes. I can see the forks raise and lower when I use the compressor. I rode it at 21 lbs and over little bumps and when I brake it dives down and clunks, what I assume is bottoming out. Anyone know what I should check? I just bought the bike and don't know any history of it, so I can only assume that everything is original. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Almost forgot. Here is the E-mail address for John Pagels. John is the Electrical Engineer that has hosted the breakfast at the Pork in the Pines for the past three years. jpagels@pagelsengineering.com So, if you would like to shoot him a quick thank you note it would be greatly appreciated.
  10. I just read about some forest fires in the area, just wondering how bad it is for smoke and stuff. I am heading for Calgary, Alta on Sunday, and then supposed to be heading into your area on Tuesday. I'm just wondering if we should change our plans and head somewhere else if it's really unpleasant. Any info would be appreciated. Ron
  11. I wish to thank Playboy for sending me the Ride like a Pro 3 but also for the popcorn and Koolaid. It is much appreciated. As soon as I am finished I will gladly check the list and send it on also.
  12. Bought a 1987 Venture Royale less than 48 hrs ago. I paid $1750 knowing that there would be a few issues to fix. She seemed to run great during my test drive. However, I have found a few thing that need fixing since I have put a few miles on her yesterday. I also discovered the service manual for the bike and have just about read it from cover to cover. Major Thanks to whoever uploaded that gem. Just a bit of history.... The bike used to be ridden daily, until the po before the po decided not to ride anymore for what reason. So, it sat for a while and was no longer running. The pl

  15. I have a 2006 RSV with 42,000 miles. Bike is in great shape and only problem I am having is my choke lever no longer stays on its own. I have to hold the lever out until engine is warmed up. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated!
  16. Will be picking up my new to me Venture Royale tomorrow and can't wait. I will be bringing it home on a trailer as the weather around here isn't too great yet. What I'm wondering is where is the best place to hook the tie down straps. My other bikes don't have all this bodywork to worry about so they are pretty easy. Any help is appreciated. By the way, it's a 1990.
  17. Have any of you ever had the fairing off? What about swapped wiring harnesses. I want to swap the harness from my 83 with a CB to my 83 without. I believe this is going to be a job, so what are some of your opinions? Would it be easier to splice in the CB? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks- CJ
  18. I have an 83 1200 and i need the complete carb rebuild kit. I'm looking for a cheap one, and hopefully someone can help. Any info would be much appreciated Thanks -CJ
  19. I'm in the middle of trying to remove my carburetors. Its kind of tough getting the carbs off of the bike. I've got the owners manual and it really isnt much help. i figure one your threads can help, maybe with picture. anyone with any insight would be much appreciated!
  20. I have a 1984 Venture with the 1200cc engine on it (locked up), will a 1985 1300cc mount up to my 1984 frame and swing drive arm? Also will the electrical plug in as well or will I have to do mods to make it work. Thanks any help and or pictures would be appreciated.

  22. I have been searching online trying to find driver floorboards for my 87 venture royale 1300 and I have come up empty. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  23. I appreciated the "no rear brake, but do have left front brake" thread but couldn't find one that dealt with no front left brake. I replaced the pistons on the front right brake caliper as it was leaking and decided to check out the front left to see if they were wet and have found they don't move. I disconnected the hose from the front left caliper and no fluid came out even when I pumped the front brake lever. Any suggestions in what I should do next would be appreciated. I have a 1987 Venture.
  24. My headset cord is bad, the cord that is on the gas tank. How do you and how hard is it to change or maybe have a new end put on by soldering?? I see that I can get a used one at Pinwall. Any help will be appreciated. thanks , maddog:fingers-crossed-emo
  25. 87 Venture. top right of fairing there is a relay. Have a jumper I put in the socket to allow turn signals to work. If I leave it in the battery will go dead. Local dealer absolutely no help. Would like part number or even name of whatever relay plugs in there. Also, ignition switch sticking and headlamp sometimes will not work after starting. Would like to replace that as well. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
