  1. I have a 2006 RSV - 60k miles. I a looking for a "how to" on swingarm removal/repacking. Does anyone know if there is such a document on this forum??
  2. I just finished a 12 day trip to Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. The main attraction was to ride the Cabot trail and it was worth every mile! If you have never been there it is highly recommended! My only issues the entire trip was the gas in Canada. I have a 2006 RSV and turned 60k on the return trip home. I ride two up and had the bike loaded down. The entire way out I was getting 220-240 miles per tank. My first stop for gas in Canada was about 130 north of Maine somewhere in New Brunswick and stopped at an Irving gas station. After the fill up my gas gauge dropped one bar after 9 miles. Normal first bar drop for my bike is around 72 miles. Needless to say I was a bit alarmed! I was able to get 180 miles out of the tank. Each fill up got a little bit less. By the time we hit the Cabot trail my gauge would not even show full after fill up. I found a NAPA in Cheticamp and purchased some seafoam. I let my tank get down pretty low, load up the seafoam, and let it sit for the night. Got up the next morning and, with the help of my brother in law sloshed the tank side to side. This helped a little but still not even close to what I am use to. End result as soon as I hit Calais, ME I filled up with 93 octane and like magic my gas gauge returned to normal!
  3. I have been using F4 the last 5 years. Great product.....great customer service!
  4. Steamer - you were 100% correct - I removed the housing and the pin had slipped from the hole in the handle bar. Slipped the pin back in, replaced the two screws....good as new! Thanks for the help!!!!
  5. I have a 2006 RSV 56k miles. Bike is running great no issues at all. Noticed the switch housing on the bike will move back and fourth about 1/4 - 1/2 inch. There are a few screws that hold the switch housing together and they are plenty tight. Is this normal to have this type of movement? I have not noticed until today. Again no issues with throttle or cruise control. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
  6. A little embarrassing but problem solved. My passing lamp bolts had come lose. Tightened back up with a little loctite and there is no more rattle/play in my fairing....dang!
  7. The bolts are behind the handle bar mounts. Good is fairing is not cracked. I ordered a set of baron's handle bar risers and when those come in I will try to snug those two bolts down and see what happens!
  8. I have a 2006 RSV 56K miles. I have noticed a little bit of rattling in my fairing (only when going over bumps etc...) lately. Decided to take a closer look today. If I take my hands, just outside of the windshield, I can wiggle the entire cowling assembly back and fourth just a little bit. I have been riding this bike for 5 years and seems to be more play in there then I remember. My anti vibration rubber blocks are still attached and no risers (yet) on my handle bars. I looked in the service manual and the only thing I see that could be snugged down are two nuts connecting to bolts coming out of the front forks....is this correct?? Any other place I might look to "snug" down the cowling assembly or is this play normal and I am just now noticing?? I get nervous any time I need to snug anything with the fairing. Seems like the tabs and all are a bit frail and thin! Any thoughts or suggestions will be greatly appreciated as always!
  9. Any concerns with the gears being used? I have 56K on my 2006 and have a trip coming up from Ohio to Cabot Trail in NS, Canada. Considering doing this before I go but have concerns i might take a great running bike and mess it up before my trip or have issues while on the trip. Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.
  10. Where did you get the v-max rear from? Was it new or used. I am taking a trip to the Cabot Trail in NS in 1 month. Considering the upgrade but my bike is running great and a little worried I might take a great running bike and mess it up!
  11. Thanks for the info - much appreciated!!
  12. Has anyone done the rms gear exchange? If so does it include pumpkin only or pumpkin and shaft? I have taken my rear wheel off a few times and wondered the level of difficulty? Anyone have instructions on this? Their website states one step beyond a tire
  13. I have a 2006 RSV 56k - installed an F4 a few years ago and have loved everything about it. I recently developed a crack and sent an email with pics to Dan and Don at F4 customs. They have the best customer service and went out to their way to take care of me. It's one thing to have a great product but to back it up and to be so customer oriented is awesome!!!! Thanks F4 for all your great help!!!
  14. I had to get a new radio for my 06 last year. Purchased from pinwall and have had no problems since!
