Ken,one more thing the tires that come on the Aluma MCT trailer say max pressure 65lbs..Thats not necessary at all..I run 40 in mine and never a bounce and pulled up to 400 lbs with no problem..Ive tried to make it start swaying and have been unable to do sobut always do as said, put most of the weight towards the front and you will never know its there..But as said earlier keep it in mind as braking could be an issue. These are great trailers and alot of Gold Wing riders pull them,in fact at the Gold Wing rallies Aluma is usually there set up.
  3. Oil Change is simple..I use Amsoil but Mobil 1 is great to as far as synthetics, just make sure whichever you use is motorcycle specific,( yes I know some of you do not) My theory is better safe than sorry. Changing the windshield is very easy unscrew the 2 inner screws on the fairing, inside by the speakers,VERY CAREFULLY ease off the chrome front piece..Can break the tabs if you get rough with it, then you will be looking at the screws that hold it on. http://www.venturers.org/NextGenTech/2ndGen/images/fairing1.gif

Think WAY ahead...I have an Aluma trailer and I cannot tell its back there,Make turns a little wider, and some will disagree but I started by pulling it empty then slowly started adding more weight.Going downhills,IE Mountains,go slowly! Common sense
  5. I dont know about the other places in the South but Houston,Port Arthur Galveston, basically coastal cities are still without 100%power and at gas stations, some have no electricity or spuratic electricity, major refineries are having electrical problems also...No excuse for the fighting though!
  6. I just ask Lowell how you are doing...He is my source for info! Tom
  7. I have it and I really like it.It takes about 30 minutes to install and very easy to remove the ball hitch part..when that is removed you do not know there is a hitch on it..I like that alot! The safety chains are a little trouble but if you route them correctly, which is obvious,it will not in any way get close to the tire..If you get one and need help figuring it out on the chains or whatever my # is in profile. Tom
  8. That sounds fun but I dont know if I could do that! By the way are you going to be at the Texas Stampede get together being you are so close? Debby and I are going but probably will do limited riding, just socializing. Tom
  9. Get the H rated, will last longer..The V is a higher speed rating and I think harder..I dont think they call them Venom X anymore, and Yes the Dunlops are biased as are the Avons for OUR bikes. Tom
  10. http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/ Get 25% off and no tax if outside of Washington State but pay shipping..I got mine there. Tom
  11. I have them, they are thr kuraykn offset,i think called longhorns..although close they work great.
  12. Ditto on what goose said. MY opinion is stay with the ORIGINAL sizes Front and Back, and The Avons are front AM41,Rear AM42. I have no problems with the Dunlops other than on grooved highways they make my rearend,(Mine),pinch the seat as they follow EVERY groove. The Avons you can literally let go of the bars and it will track straight thru the grooves. I had a set of Metz..DONT DO IT! Mine started chunking rubber at 1700 miles,DANGEROUS! Tom
  13. Lowell Glad She is Ok..I started to try and call you yesterday but was mowing and..well I can only think of one thing at a time. Glad everyone is OK. Tom
  14. You will see on the pipes screws that hold the baffles in but I had no succcess at adding more packing.I was experimenting with it and there just was not enough room.
  15. I forgot,In my profile pics if you click on the pics link I have a few pics of my bike and trailer..one of them s where you can see the back of bike with trailer attached. Tom (Diamond Rs)
  16. i am on my laptop and the pictures are on the home PC but if you saw the back of the bike you will not see the hitch at all as it is totally hidden until you put the ball adapter on it,or stinger, whatever you want to call it..I like it alot and only takes about 30 minutes to install it.
  17. All I can say is have plenty of Gas and FOOD as everything basically in the Houston area is without electricity and no gas...Ive been running water around here and Port Arthur all day, finally back in New Braunfels ready for bed! traffic is really picking up coming into Houston. Tom
  18. I havnt had any trouble with my 04..BUT my friend bought an 07 and had radio issues, his was the wiring harness pinched under the seat area..fixed now. Tom

  21. I got up at 0130 yesterday AM and drove over to Lufkin,Texas to get my 83 year old Dad..after much kicking and hollering he decided to come back to my home here in Blanco,Tx..Hes glad he did now as it is 35 miles SW of Lufkin as I type! Safe in Blanco.
  22. I doubt it is the shock, the key thing you said is you just had the dealer service it. My experience is is that dealers dont know squat about these bikes. If the oil sight glass has oil at the half way point or over it is too much oil in the crankcase, make sure it is a little under half way on the site glass or it will leak out the overflow hoses close to the rear shock. Tom
  23. If it is a Stock windshield...DO NOT USE RAIN X...It Will cloud the windshield and ruin it. If you have a Clearview Windshield as I do you CAN use RainX..I know from experience. The Clearview is a different material.
  24. I can relate..Trust me. Anything I can do ,whatever,I am here..Prayers to You and your Family! Tom
