  1. Just wanted to let you all know that I still have plenty of VentureRider Guardian Bells available. They make GREAT Christmas presents. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=17406
  2. What to buy Where to Buy Whats a fair price Whats the mininum on the rotor. I'm pretty sure mine has plenty of meat to turn. Just like to know the mininum limit.
  3. Well, Erv and I are adjusting to the place sans Rocket and Grump. Having those guys here was an absolute delight! Good company, late nights and a "home-brew beer tasting event" which occured the night after a tequila and whiskey tasting event. We had plenty of food, plenty of chatting, and good company. So glad to have these guys hang out and just commune. Even with all the libations, things stayed low-key, friendly, and created warm memories. Paul even found one of Black Owl's roosts! (note the arrows in the eyes) Thank you both, Paul and Rod, for enriching our lives. Teri (the redhead of Pakidaho) and Erv. http://venturerider.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=70560&d=1344637895
  4. I have not seen a post like this so I would like to start it. Lets share our tips and tricks for staying warm and give our advice on hat gear nd combination work. I am tiredof riding winters where 3 hours are fine but getting back home is mysery. My hands are exposed. Will I need wind guards to go with heated gloves or will heated gloves work plenty. I have no lowers, will chaps be plenty to keep my long john and fleeced legs warm. I have always felt cold legs but Im sure it because of the wind. I hope this thread gets some action.
  5. Adding an ignition bypass switch in my open air shop. no pictures 'cause it is in a secret location Had plenty of help and she seems excited to be going to meet her namesake!!! :dancefool:
  6. So, who's been to the Ford Museum? Greenfield Village? WIfe and I are going to ride up on Friday and come home on Monday, should be plenty of time to see most of each of them, right? What's a absolute don't miss part of this trip?

    help with posting

I like to see the US maps people have on their posts to show where they have been. I would like to do that also but, haven't figured it out yet. Can someone please explain how I can do this. I have plenty of time now cause I had rotator cuff surgery and I'm not supposed to ride till the end. Of July. Thanks Reno.
  8. Most of you already know this stuff but for those who have never been to my maintenance day before, here is a bit of info. The official day is actually Saturday June 4th. This started out as a one day even but has grown a bit over the past few years. Some people start rolling in as early as Thursday afternoon now. Many don't leave until sometime on Sunday. Most of you have hotel rooms already but for those who plan to camp, there is plenty of room in the front around the pond or in the back if you prefer. There is a small fire pit in the front by the pond and there is a larger one behind the house. There is plenty of fire wood that you are welcome to use. One thing new this year. I have rented a porta potty that will be delivered on Friday. There is also one bathroom downstairs just inside the house from the garage. There will be no hard fast rules but I am going to encourage the guys to use the porta potty and keep the inside bathroom open for the ladies. The food is ordered and will be delivered sometime between noon and one o'clock on Saturday. This is the only meal that will be catered. There is not set price for this meal. There will be a donation can to help with the expenses. Other meals are up to you. I know that many of us will be going to Quaker Steak on Friday evening and hopefully many of you will join us. For anybody wishing to do so, there is a gas and charcoal grill on the rear deck and you are welcome to use it. There is a Walmart just about 3 or 4 miles away if you need to buy groceries or any other items. There is an Autozone parts store in that same area if you need any oil, filters, etc. We sometimes try to do a ride on Saturday evening or possibly even on Sunday. Nothing specific planned at this time but we can discuss it and do what you all wish to do. We usually have nothing really planned for Saturday night and most just sit around and visit. It is always a good time. I know that we have some guitar players attending and it would be fun if some of you want to do a little picking and grinning. I have two acoustics and an electric here that you are welcome to use. JUST BE CAREFUL with them. Last year, we tried to wrap up all the actually "maintenance" on the bikes by around 4:00. I think that worked out pretty well. We try to get to everybody's lists of items but there is only so much that we can do in a day. Please bring any supplies and/or parts that you might need or might not be available from AutoZone or Walmart. Also, Pioneer Motorsports will be here. They are a Yamaha dealer coming down from near Buffalo, NY and will have a variety of parts and supplies including tires, brake pads, etc. If you need them to bring anything specific, please see the "sticky thread" at the top of the watering hole and post there are PM Chad. Now I THINK that most are aware of this but just to be sure. If you have things that you need done to your bike, remember, there will be plenty of folks who are willing to pitch in and help you but NOT do everything for you. The purpose of maintenance day is to help each other and learn from each other. So please be prepared to roll up your sleeves and get involved. That's what it is all about. I'm sure I'm missing some details so feel free to ask any questions that you might have. It's getting close and I'm getting excited about it now. It's going to be a great time as always.
  9. Oh and in case ya didn't know what it was here's a link. I have plenty of wood in the yard, took down 5 trees this past month. http://www.bonfirenight.net/ Margaret
  10. I have a very nice seldom worn brown Yamaha Star leather coat in the classifieds. It is a 4XL and I wear a 2XL or 3XL and fits me with plenty of room. No vents. I'm asking $125 plus shipping.
  11. Ok here is the question of the year as far as Maintenance day goes. Why did George leave Bobbie in Maryland on the way to Riderdukes house? Yes he did and there are plenty of members to testify at the divorce procedings. Watch this thread for updates. Jeff
  12. Hello everyone. Got home from hospital late Saturday afternoon. Very strange not to have this heavy weight on the end of my leg! Have some stitches in my knee, where they did some corrective surgery on a bone spur, and plenty of holes where the wires went through my leg. All going well so far. I'm off to see orthotics on Tuesday about a brace for my leg. Good to be home.
  13. The trailer is a Fibro Concept XL3 Trailer made in Canada and all you know its a 2001 It has 115,000 kms for the price of $8500.00 CDN its a Bargoon Plenty of Yamaha Chrome accessories , I have tried the FJR1300, Honda Goldwing My knees are shot and the Venture was the most comfortable ride
  14. Howdy to all and thanks in advance for any help you can give me. I bought a 90 Royale with 11k on it last Memorial Day,with the idea I would take a couple trips on it and make a few thousand on it selling it. By the 2nd day riding it I was hooked. What a nice piece of machinery. Since I'm never going to sell it (it's like brand new) I figured I better learn how to work on it. I've spent quite a few hours studying on this sight and found it to be a great resource. My first question is: speed bleeders vs vacuum pump. I've found posts on here in favor of both. My rear brake peddle feels plenty firm but doesn't work as well as my other bikes and there's plenty of pad left. I'm guessing bleeding is the place to start. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
  15. Just wondering if everyone is ready for some more St. Jude items to bid on, I still have plenty of shirts, hats, & pins............

  22. We are going to be at site 20 and will be camping in our little camper. We also have more tents and air mattress if anyone wants us to bring them. Since we are fairly close by, we are going to bring the car, trailer and camper and bike. So if you have not made plans and would like to stay at our campsite, just come on down. They are pretty big and there will be plenty of room spread out between us all. Just let me know what you would like me to bring. It won't cost you anything...well, maybe a cold drink. RandyA
  23. One more day at work and I'm off for a week. Things to do at 5:00 pm. Turn pager off, turn cell phone off, send all calls to voice mail. I got a few days to get the 89 ready and were out of here. MamaMo's 99 is still on the lift. To much going on and no time. Plenty of work to do when we get back but not thinking about that right now.
  24. i just got off the phone, speaking with Don H. folks, he is having a rough time, physically! the "Chemo", that he is taking is very tough to handle. he said , today , has been one of his better days, and it hasn't been all good. no appetite, no energy, "plenty" of pain , especially in the knees and ankles! he asked that i post this update, for him, because he just can't find the energy to come in here.
