  1. So, again we are blessed with a visit from rocket and again he leaves his mechanical mark upon us. When he was here last summer he rebuilt the trailer. This year he decided to put steps on the truck so I (Teri) could get in without all the harnesses, rappelling equipment, and the rest of the hullaballo it takes. Now I can get in the truck all by myself! Anyway, we are sad to see him go, but we are grateful we were on his list of folks to stop in for.
  2. Okay...so we found Rocket! We found him in some interesting places. The trailer seemed to be fairly interesting to Rocket, thus he figured since we almost broke it, he would fix it. He then helped haul hay! We joked about turning our Canadian into an Idaho Cowboy, or Farmer...then our MiniMoo (Dexter cow) named Mommie and Rocket had a chat. Mommie was concerned about our intentions and thought better of hanging out too close. Still, we found him. We promise we didn't break him... Teri and Erv (aka Pakidaho)
  3. Maybe Brian could drop down to Idaho and we could all make the trip together. Teri n I have been wanting to make a west coast trip and that just might fit in to our notions.
  4. Well, Erv and I are adjusting to the place sans Rocket and Grump. Having those guys here was an absolute delight! Good company, late nights and a "home-brew beer tasting event" which occured the night after a tequila and whiskey tasting event. We had plenty of food, plenty of chatting, and good company. So glad to have these guys hang out and just commune. Even with all the libations, things stayed low-key, friendly, and created warm memories. Paul even found one of Black Owl's roosts! (note the arrows in the eyes) Thank you both, Paul and Rod, for enriching our lives. Teri (the redhead of Pakidaho) and Erv. http://venturerider.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=70560&d=1344637895
  5. Look'n forward to a visit from the Canadian ambassador and his side kick Grump.. Looks like there ain't snow but maybe some pavement refreshing, oil bath n gravel, ride berry berry safe my Friend. Teri n erv
  6. Sage advice...from experience, no doubt!
  7. Stop in for a home brew and something to eat just a bit south of Salmon, Idaho. Looks like you plan to head toward Idaho Falls after leaving Salmon on highway 26 which is a nice ride. We are located on 93 along the river which is also a nice ride going toward Challis, Mackey, Arco and then to Idaho Falls...about the same mileage and time. Either way is a great ride. If your up to it give a shout when you hit Salmon and we will watch for you, no cell service after leaving town. 208-894-2440, Teri n erv Either way have a great ride and have fun.
  8. Hey Russ, You know how you like to change people's handle here? Not unlike Wrongway to Cheap Shot??? How about Gas Can, or No Fill? Or Tracks on Pavement? Maybe Roadside Recovery Project? We are in the process of petitioning the fuel stops in Yellowstone to change their names to Russell Stops. Maybe then you will take a moment and top off....New name! Top Off!!!! We love it! Heck, we love you!
  9. Prayers sent! The concerns never cease..
  10. It is amazing how many folks suffer with sleep issues...wow! Teri has used ear plugs for several years but something must have changed over the past month and she has been trying to tolerate the rumbling bed but after trying to wake me up and getting cussed she decided the couch was better suited. I purchased an oral device (mouth guard) sort of thing and last night was my first trial.... It was rough but I stayed determined recognizing it will take time to adjust and kept it in all night. I can not say I got much sleep but I know my wife did and she was still in the bed this morning...guess that is a good sign....that the device is working..lol As little sleep as I got I do notice the absence of a very dry mouth and I do feel a bit better energy this morning, which is surprising.
  11. We are over here in Potato land...(Idaho) We have all sorts of great roads to travel with some of the finest scenery you could imagine. Normally this time of year we have plenty of snow but Teri and I just had to go purchase a new tractor so we could plow snow off our very long driveway, so instead of snow we get rain...lots of rain...and at night when the temps go down we get ice...lots of ice...haven't tried plowing the rain off the drive but we do have kayaks.
  12. All that time we spent chatting on the phone and pizza talk should have been a clue...you never made any mention that you were having a birthday. Well My Friend, Happy Birthday Teri n Erv
  13. I know a couple of folks in Idaho that would more n likely show up, just put out those dates and we will bring potatoes.
