  1. Eileen and I got home around 1:00 today. I wish we could have stayed another day but had to get home to take care of some other business. I just want to say that Big Tom and his FANTASTIC team did a wonderful job with this years rally. They had so many prizes to give away that I thought they would NEVER stop calling numbers. Everything they did was done top notch. The rides, food, prizes, location.....I can't think of a single thing that could have been done better. We are so fortunate that we always have such great people taking charge and handling our rallies. For any of you who have never put one together, you have no idea of the amount of time and energy that goes into these things. Dingy already made an excellent post about Pioneer Motorsports so I'll just quickly mention again that they are GREAT folks. If we all had dealers like that, you would never hear the horrific dealer stories that we often hear. So thank you to all involved for making this years such a great success.
  2. Has anyone used Castrol 20-50 motorcycle oil? It doesn't say anywhere on the bottle that its for wet clutch ,and it doesn't have an energy conservation stamp. Is it safe to use--or should I stay away?
  3. Not trying to stir the pot, just a questions about Mobile 1. I was considering changing over to Mobile 1 in by bike, however I read on a Mobile 1 container that it was "energy conserving". I have read many posts that said energy conserving oil was not good for the wet clutch in the Ventures. Am I missing something here?
  4. I see many from this site use the Rotella T oil, which by the way is a very good oil for the diesel engines. But I also saw where someone said don't use the energy conserving oils. The new jug of Rotella I bought from WalMart shows triple protection. It meets the requirement of SM, SL, and SJ. All of these requirements where mentioned not to use because they are the new energy conserving oils. Before I change oil in my NEW VRS (08) to replace the (04) VRS Midnight I high sided last fall, I wanted to check. It seems that this oil also will go by the wayside for us. Or can someone help, and tell us different??? I hope so, was going to start running the Rotella from now on but!!! Hope someone can shed some light on this. Many thanks rangerider Drive fast, but I quit taking chances!!!

  6. i just got off the phone, speaking with Don H. folks, he is having a rough time, physically! the "Chemo", that he is taking is very tough to handle. he said , today , has been one of his better days, and it hasn't been all good. no appetite, no energy, "plenty" of pain , especially in the knees and ankles! he asked that i post this update, for him, because he just can't find the energy to come in here. I ask, for those of you who can, to please say a prayer for my friend and brother. just jt
