  1. AMEN to That! THANK YOU ALL!!!..
  2. You mount them and they will be as wide although Ive never measured they still look as wide. You will get VERY strong opinions on tire pressure but I run the pressure listed on the side wall and currently have over 9000 miles on mine and really does not show that much wear.I am glad you went with the stock sizes as I really do not think that using the Avons you need a smaller front tire as handling is so much better with the avons in stock size. Also a few says they do not stick good in rain,I find that they are the best tire I have ever ridden on in the rain. As you know BE VERY CAREFUL THE FIRST 100 OR SO MILES. The coating on the tires from the factory takes a bit to work off and THEY ARE SLICK! I know its overboard but I take a brillo pad and strond soap and scrub the wear area very good ASAP as I have experienced that slick feel. Tom
  3. Great News Gary! Give him my best wishes. Tom
  4. Condor,You took the words out of my mouth,I was gonna write a post on the importance of changing these fluids. Trust me folks do it or you will wind up as I away from home thinking How stupid can I be! Its simple if you have the speedbleeders or if I knew the Proper way I like Conders way of Reverse Bleeding. Tom
  5. Mine did that a few weeks ago..All I had to do was flush the fluid and put new in..works better than ever now..Just get someone to bleed it.
  6. OK JT..I am off this week but go out again Sunday AM..This is the 3rd I have been in this year if you count Edourd..Last week was doing Hurricane relief hauls in LA. So I guess this week Texas area again.Oh well time for some more rubber boots! Tom

  8. What a let down..Guess I will look harder at the 09 Harleys,at least they are out of the Flintstone Era..When will Yamaha listen?
  9. You would have to modify it as it uses a different mount system. I have a friend that did it but has since sold his RSTD. I dont know how he did it but I can ask if you get that far and cant figure it out. Tom
  10. Ive heard the Bubs and I have Krome werks with the turn down tips..I think they sound the same..both are a little deeper than some of the others.
  11. I talked to him on the phone and he was in Iowa 2 days ago,I think he said he was heading to Eureka Springs. Tom

  14. I did not have a problem when my shock went out..They just admired my trailer and the way the hitch was hidden. I dont think if anything is mentioned they never even think about it.

  16. 5 year bumper to bumper warranty...call Yamaha and chew a little. Tom
  17. Jim,Shoot Big Shell an Email..he has done it..I THINK he took them off though. I sat on GaryNs bike and he had the Flanders bars and I am telling you they are GREAT. If I keep my bike I am going with the Flanders and new brake lines and throttle cable set (2 inch longer)up that buckeye performance has. ( When I say if I keep bike depemds on what Yamaha does with the future Venture. ). Tom
  18. Do as I do.."I will ride but will meet you at destination..I want to see the scenery and have nothing to prove." If they dont like it enjoy the ride. I know at Ft Collins when I had my wife on I rode EASY and just informed the group I was with and they stayed with us the 4 days we were there. Tom
  19. Ok I ordered a complete set of speedbleeders for my bike, the first project is bleed all the fluid from my clutch and replace with new.Someone that has done this please send a basic "how to do this" from beginning to end with speedbleeders. While I was in Colorado it seemed as if overnight the fluid got very dark colored and I lost alot of my feel in my clutch pull. The clutch was still very strong but after I got back down to camp I had my original feel on the clutch lever but fluid very dark. Last year Condor told me how to reverse bleed but I do not have the tools or know how to do that so my next best hope is I bought the speedbleeders. Thanks,Tom.
  20. Joe,have at LEAST 2 weeks to be here...still not enough time but there is everything to do from white water rafting, glider rides, hiking, mountain climbing, and what we are doing tomorrow, renting a Jeep to go to the top of the Mountains..Ghost towns(Old Mining camps),4 wheel drive required elevations of 13K up. Tom ALSO FANTASTIC MC RIDING!

Practice Practice and another Thumbs up to the New Avon Venoms..Yesterday riding the mountain roads i was U turning on very narrow roads..no problem....Friend of mine blew his Brigestone on his Roadliner but wasnt fault of tire..he cut it on a sharp rock..Hes OK got it from 75 to 0 in a few seconds.
  23. Sorry about middle pic kinda fuzzy.hit wrong picture.(First Post)
  24. Well Ive read MANY threads about peoples concerns taking their RSV to the Mountains. Last year we went as high as 12600 feet iAt Ft Collins,Co, a pop or two was all that I noticed. This week Debby and I are in Ouray,Colorado and have been to 12220 feet and NO pop at all. My friends cant believe a carbureted bike can take these altitudes like mine is doing. Alot of HD riders up here but everyone has been very friendly. We took a day trip to Arches Natl Park yesterday,420 round trip, and it was beautiful but HOT! The big arch that was most recognizable fell 2 weeks ago so no pics of it!.Will post more pics when i get bored. Tom
  25. VERY glad to hear you two are OK..That is my worst fear as many deer as we have here. Get well soon!
