  1. The thing I noticed about the Kuryakyn grips is they are larger in diameter then the stock grips. It took a little while to get use to them. It wasn't a problem though because I have bigger hands. I have the Stiletto end caps on mine and haven't noticed any handling problems either.
  2. I,m thinking of removing my trunk also. What did you do about the antenna's and the black box under the trunk? Do you have pic's you can post? It would be helpful to see the look of it ,maybe to make my mind up.
  3. Just when Barney Fife :bobby:was hot on the trail of said "offender".:rotfl:
  4. :stirthepot:Someone is breaking the the rules about pictures. Anybody know who it can be? IT might be you! Names will be withheld to protect the innocent!
  5. Rode 303 miles today in cool weather, had 36 front and 42 rear. I rode solo and checked the tires after 121 miles of pretty good pace riding in the morning and they didn't feel like they warmed up. Checked them when I got home after around 120 miles of riding and the same thing. Not that warm. The tires only have around 600 miles or so on them. Rode them easy the first 200 miles or so, then it was ride as normal with no problems. You my try some 200 or so grit sand paper and scuff them up a little.I did mine before mounting them. I had Dunlop D404,s on the bike before and hated them. The bike is like a completely new bike with the Avon Venoms. I would go back to Dunlops if you gave me a new set for free.
  6. 303 for me.:Venture:Chris I beat you guys home.Should of bought one of those fast black Venture!
  7. Made it home a little past 6. Seemed a little cooler on the way home then on the way up. Nothing that a bowl of chili and a beer didn't fix. The ride and company was great. If you missed today you really missed a good time. And believe it or not we rode on some good roads! Those who don't know, Pennsylvania is not know for good roads.Good job Craig:thumbsup2: Before someone else asks where's the pics?
  8. No representation from Delaware? Maybe a certian former Venture rider?
  9. I started the process of modifing it today. Looks like about 6 inch's or a little more will get it. The trap door should be o.k for tire removal even with the vise forward.
  10. Ordered a 1200 # lift and after 5 weeks finally got it. Well here is the problem it's roughly 8 inch's shorter then the 1000 # lift. The bike won't fit in the vise and fit the table. I didn't know this until I tried it out for size. A buddy has the 1000 # lift and the bike fit just fine. Called him about the size and he confirmed it is 8 inch's shorter. Has anybody bought the 1200 # lift and made it work? I think I might be able to modify it but I'm concerned that the vise will have to be moved too far foward and create a front heavy tip hazzard. Any ideas or input ? I don't really won't to go thru the hassle of returning it and getting another lift.
  11. I'm planning on coming, but won't know if it will be solo till the last minute. Anyone planning on going from the Baltimore Washington metro area? If so let me know and maybe we can meet up and ride up togehter.
  12. What, blue and black Venture. Where, southbound Md 2/4 going over the Patuxent River bridge. When, around 1:45 p.m. Was this you? If so, you were spotted. For a small fee I won't tell your wife you were riding :Venture:without her. Just kidding I was just hateing the fact that it was nice and I wasn't riding too! There won't be many more nice afternoons before old man winter comes calling!
  13. Maybe a earlier start with the ride first ,then lunch. That way a early return home before the four legged creatures start to go bump in the dark.
  14. According to the parts guy I use at the Yamaha shop ,you can call Color-Rite with your bike info and they will have the correct paint and reducer to match. He say's Color-Rite paint is used at the facotry. The # is 1-800-358-1882. Hope this help's as I need to repair my front fender this winter.
