  5. I have a friend that I brought to the Texas Stampede that is not a member but rides a Far Out looking Roadliner and he now wants me to show him how to sign up and navigate the website...He and His wife were VERY Impressed with the people they met at the meet and BOTH said they have never just met strangers and felt so "At Home".He will be posting I bet as soon as I show him how.For all the newbies,as Wpredock says jump in and participate,a great group of people here. Tom
  6. Lou,Congrats on the New Bike.Ive said it before they are great bikes and handle superbly! You WILL enjoy it...I know where you can go to break it in......BUT I guess you will have to wait till next year, but trust me,we here in the SOUTH will give you guys updates on our beautiful riding weather thru the winter! Tom
  7. I have the LED tailight panel(Yes Red LEDS) with clear lens and people swear its so bright they think I have my brake lights on....till I hit my Brake lights, then the world behind me really lights up,BUT some people do not like clear lenses.
  8. Be sure all the slick stuff is off the surface of the tire if new...Also if not use to the tire and have been running say Dunlaps(nothing bad about those tires),The Avons will fall into the corners effortlessly and people new to them I have found seem to countersteer to much making it feel "slippery"..Now I am no expert on this but that is what I noticed. I just put on 650+ miles this weekend and scraped my highway pegs twice pulling the trailer and they stuck like glue.Tom

For all you that think big guys from Texas dont get a tear in an eye,I really had to hold it in! Seeing Gary again was truly well,(I am not a wordsmith,)but Inspirational. Seeing Bruce,AKA Ramblingman...Well what can you say about him??? Those that know him know what I mean! All kidding aside these are two of the finest people you will ever meet,Thanks for the Surprise Guys..Debby says She loves Ya"ll! Tom

  16. Gary,I was thinking of you two today and had to remember the day You and Leslie went riding with Me.I will never forget She wanted to see"Free Roaming Cattle",well needless to say as we rounded that corner there they stood in the middle of the road..She was so delighted to see that and I sat back and and just grinned as She took those pictures. These are the times I guess we all will remember and nothing can take our memories away. I am glad you are moving on in life and even more so to call you a great friend. Tom and Debby
  17. Thom, welcome to come up to my place just north of San antonio sometime..i am right in some of the best riding in Texas,Blanco,Texas ,every direction you go is great riding from here. Try and make it to Athens Tx if you can,I will be arriving around noon Saturday. Tom
  18. You should not need to. Carb Sync,Yes.
  19. Give them a BIG Thanks! Weve got a Son in the Marines also! Tom And Debby
  20. No rejetting required, carb sync,YES. I run Iridium, they are suppose to last longer,I have 20000 miles on mine and runs perfect. My bike runs better on 87 octane..to me its a waste of money on the higher octane as I get better mileage with 87 octane. I also rum synthetic oil, some do not like it but its a personal preference,I am from the old school and was hard to convert me but I came around to synthetic and will use nothing else. Tom
  21. Its just a basic install,do one at a time as you can use the other for a reference if you get confused..other than that enjoy, they are nice.
  22. For me joining the group was basically wanting to know more about the mechanics of my bike. After joining and keeping up to date on all the latest accessories and known problems and fixes I guess curiousity got the best of me seeing so many people from Canada,USA,Australia,Germany and I think Ive seen someone from Spain on here, I thought "Man it would be interesting to meet some of the different people from other walks of life". So out of the blue one day a fellow member from Ontario,Canada happened to have called me as they were visiting the Hill Country here in Texas and I rode out to visit them and then planned a trip to ride some the next day in the hill country. Needless to say we have become very good friends and thru that friendship I have met numerous other members from Canada,The other parts of the USA and thru the Annual Rallys VentureRider.Org holds. I keep meeting more and more members. My curiousity has come to the conclusion that the more we may think we are different the more we realize we are the same. Yes Politics and Religion may be opposite on some of our views but when its all said and done I have no doubt that ANY member on here could depend on ANY other member to be there for them in a time of need such as someone to talk to or just visit with. Yes I know this is kind of long winded but since She is doing a study maybe my story will help her understand. By the way riding with a bunch of them is pretty cool to.Tom
  23. Lou,Thank God You Two are OK! Tom
  24. Not being there but just reading first thought is adequate ground??
