Check your congressman's or Senators web site and arrange for tours of the Lib. of Congress, Capitol, Whitehouse, etc. You will avoid a lot of lines this way. Be sure to tour the Supreme Court as well. Might want to consider the US Mint as well. There will be a complete list on your congressman's site.

Well, I guess I will put on my parade attire and spend more time riding my inferior bike. Not sure how this got to another post of bashing a bike by people who have not owned one for many years. Just a reminder, dealerships are owned by individuals like you and me, not the big corporate organization, so every time a dealership goes under, many people like us loose jobs. Every one of us can talk about someone who knew someone that read a story about failed engines and bad dealership experiences. Folks, sorry to say its time for me to go. I am a member on several sites, and I never seem to find one that takes as much pleasure in bashing another brand as this one. Don and mods - feel free to modify or delete this post. You have built a good community of Yamaha owners here, but its getting pretty plain to see that my skin is not thick enough for the number of thinly veiled insults to those of us who love to ride a Harley Davidson. So - thanks to those who have made me feel welcome here - maybe we will meet on the rode somewhere - be glad to ride with you.

Duel heat would be my suggestion. Heat pump with propane heaters???? Problem with a heat pump is that at lower temps, there is no heat to remove from the outside air and so, you are defendant on your secondary heat.

GE Earnings down by 47% Toyota considering the first layoff in its history Governors seek concessions from public employees And I seem to remember a story in the news a few days ago that Yamaha is idling its motorcycle production for 10 days because of overstock. Folks, this is not a story about Harley Davidson, its a story about an economy in trouble. People are loosing their jobs, Microsoft just let 5000 people go in their first ever layoff. I admit, I am biased, but I happen to think Harley makes a product that performs very well. The price of an Ultra Classic is not that far from that of a Wing or a BMW. Higher than a Venture, sure, but most touring bikes are. Is Harley greedy? Absolutely, any publicly traded company that isn't greedy and trying to get the most for their share holders is kind of missing the boat so to speak. I suspect not many company presidents or CEO's would last long if they weren't looking to increase shareholder value every day they work.

So do we avoid all of the major banks, GM, Chrysler, GMAC, etc. I am sick of the bailouts, but if we avoid all of the companies asking for them, be hard to spend our money. Hey, thats not such a bad idea.

No not my bike, are you insane? I would never part with that! My wife and I have decided its time to downsize. The house and lot are taking more time that we want them to. Spoke to a real estate agent yesterday. If we can get what we want - and the agent thinks we can, we can downsize and walk away mortgage free. This will let me retire in about 8 years instead of 10-12 from now. The market is still very good in the town we live in and we are in a small subdivision that has a lot of interest so maybe this will happen quickly, but if not, no big deal since we are not under any financial pressure to sell, just time for a lifestyle change. We love the house, it was our dream home and and I do not regret building it at all. If we get what we want, it will have been a fantastic investment with the return we expect.

Went to dinner with some friends - it was 64 outside when we left the house. Just got home and its 39. Guess it is winter.

They actually had prototypes in 2, 4 and 6 cyl versions.

Its the Liquid cooled engine line of bikes Harley offers. About as close to a sport bike as Harley offers. Its actually a pretty nice looking bike in my opinion. If you want to look at it its in the VRSC line (no idea why Harley uses the model designations they use). Can be seen here. If I were to buy (and as a result end up in the dog house), This one would get strong consideration. I really like the Night Rod version.

It was a joint design between HD and Porsche. One of the designs cut when the AMF relationship ended and Harley was trying to stay alive.
