  1. I do have a bypass but it hasn't made a difference.I still thing it may be the switch out still checking grounds.
  2. thanks. ground issue is what I think also. Too much at once to be anything else.
  3. Haven't been around in quite awhile due to family illnesses and actually was more concerned about being home than riding. I won't go into what all has happened because even going through it I can't believe so much happened. However, having said that I now am wanting to ride some and get away. My 99 RSV set up too long and the battery tender somehow got disconnected so I had to get a new battery. Now while installing it and getting excited about having it running again I accidentally connected it backward. with Kregerdoodles help I was able to locate the main fuse replace it and it was up and running. We'll I got it running so I took it and washed it and when I was finished I took it for a ride and all electrical seemed to work Saw my speed, mileage, turn signals flashing etc. Next morning, I rolled the bike out without starting it and polished ALL THE CHROME, dang that takes awhile. then I decided to ride it and suddenly I had issues. the fuel pump doesn't spin up,the dash doesn't show anything but the high beam. the turn signals keep blowing fuse, I don't have brake lights just running lights and the driving lights don't work nor does the horn. funny thing is the bike starts fine. I know that's a lot and I can try to work 1item at a time but.....has anyone heard of this much happening at once. I could understand if nothing worked after the wash at the car wash but everything worked on the ride after the wash and quit the next day. ANY IDEAS OUT THERE....? All ideas and replies appreciated. Jim
  4. Lynn and I wish everyone HAPPY HOLIDAYS and a great 2015. Dont post often anymore since I'm blocked at work but had to shout out to all the great people on this board. Jim n Lynn
  5. I bought keys for .89 ea online and had ace hardware cut one side for ignition and otherside for bags. Worked fine James
  6. I agree. You gotta ride both.I did both about 3 years ago. Dragon is intense.Look out for the crotch rocket riders. There is a good restraunt in the town at the south end named Lynns downtown. Good place to eat if you want home cooking type food. Have a great time. James
  7. I installed a bunch of new LED's during the last Southeast Maintenance day at Kregs house a little over a week ago and I promised to post a pict. I would definately remommed the kit I got as it had everything you could want in a kit and came from fleebay with a listing by xkglow. Take a look if your interested in LED kits for your bike. I got 14 pods of 6 led's each plus everything needed to install including the wiring switch fuse adapters etc plus remote to change functions for $75 delivered. The picture doesnt do the lights justice but you will see there is a good glow for around 6 ft around the bike. Its getting riding weather around here now with 70+ degree days so I'm ready to take a trip soon. Thanks againt to everyone from the Southeast Maintenance Day!!! Looks like I cant add the picture from here. Just 2mb. I'll try again at home tonight as the desktop here at work is locked down and I cant download a resizer James
  8. Thanks, I've ordered the part. Funny I have searched EBay for months under parts and it never showed up. Who Hoo I'm back in business Thanks everyone for the assist. AIN'T THIS SITE GREAT!!!
  9. Hopefully some one can help with this. I recently had a screw break on my bag rail guards and I need to replace the part so that I dont have to order another full bag rail package. I need the screw and the two fittings that attach the bag rail to the side crash guard. I will pay for the part if needed ans will of coursse pay for any shipping cost. If anyone can help just please PM me. Thanks everyone James

  11. Lynn and I would like to send out Warm Wishes and hope that everyone has a Happy Holiday Season and a prosperous New Year.
  12. ditto on the flush. Had the same issue with mine when it got dirty a few years ago. Its not the Amsoil if others run fine on it.
  13. Welcome and Congrats on your new toy. I have a 99 Venture also. Joined 5 yrs ago and have made may friends on this site. Pay the $12 and become a full member. You will get that back many many times over from the info and assistance you get from this site. First look under "meet n greets" to see if there is one coming up in your area or perhaps a "maintenance day" Go to the "meet and greet" and get to know others in your area that share the same love or riding a new toy. Get involved and you will find that there is not a better group of members anywhere. Any member will help answer questions and many will actually assist you when you need it. We will tell you and show you how to do almost anything you need for your ride to remain in good working shape. I was on a trip from Texas to the "Dragon" when someone walked over and told me to take a look at my rear tire. It turns out the last 2k miles I had rode before getting there had taken its toll. This member sold me a tire he had at his house and even installed it so I could continue my ride to Virginia. Locally, we have a maintenance day where members teach each other and assist each other with everyting related to the bike carb tunes, valve adj, clutch chanes/upgrades add ons etc. There is really not a better group anywhere. Ther is also a VR assistance list so if your on along trip and need assistance there is likely someone there to assist. Again, welcome and we hope you enjoy your ride!!!!!! James:hurts:
  14. I just dont know what to say, other that we will miss Don. He was the first Venture Rider member that I met. He was the most gentle friendly person you could want to meet. We all loved him and will miss him. He will always be remembered. Its really hard to believe. Gunboat was always there when you needed him. Several times Its really hard to understand that he is gone see Gunboat and I are Exactly the same age.....to the day. We shared this as well as the friendship of all the Venture riders and he will be missed. James
  15. Don, I noticed that none of the Houston area members are on the Map. Kreg, Squidley, gunboat,Owen and I should be on the map. Please add us as Squidley and Kreg and Don especially help a lot of members. I am always willing to help where I can.
