  1. Welcome aboard! That's a pretty big bike for a first one! You will enjoy it, a very comfortable ride indeed! But, if you can find a little smaller bike to practice on first that will help. If the bike decides to take a nap it is best to gently let it do so, it should only go over as far as the crash bars allow it. We've all done it! Be observant at all times and expect every car (or bike) to do something stupid because many times they do! Always leave yourself an out. ALWAYS wear a helmet, and protective gear if you can. Good boots are also a must. Always make yourself seen by others. When stopped at a light do9n't get so close to the car in front that in an emergency you can't get out of the way. Remember you are a smaller vehicle and can't be seen as well. Once again welcome aboard! you will find this bunch very knowledgeable and very friendly!
  2. Ehhh, most of us are used to the George Jetson sound by now! I would want to hear it running first. As mentioned check for signs of it being dropped. Also warn him that they are top heavy and hard to maneuver at low speeds. They are a little wide but very comfortable...
  3. Makes perfect sense to me...
  4. I once typed in "everything" and it locked up the computer!! It never worked the same since then...
  5. Uhhhhh, a trailer??

  10. No, I'm sorry, I am not going to post in this thread just to perpetuate it...
  11. Hmmmm, yet another strong argument for locking gas caps...
  12. OK maybe our company is a little oversensitive about personal privacy, it is highly valued here! We employ around 10000 internationally. Now personal internet use during working hours is a different story of course...
  13. Not necessarily! If the bore of the cylinder is corroded, as are a lot of them, then some of the hydraulic fluid will blow past the piston seal but not necessarily from the unit in huge amounts. More likely it will just seep out and spread out. Just buy a new one, don't waste your time rebuilding the old one, they're not that expensive. A second issue could be too much flex in your old rubber lines. I noticed a huge difference in the feel when I switched to SS lines. Maybe the real problem lies in your master cylinder as well. If you rebuild that make sure you hone it as the walls of the cylinder can get corroded and pitted as well decreasing it's efficiency...
  14. Sooo, let us know when it gets fixed what the issue was! Ya know, 90% of all Harleys are still on the road, the other 10% made it home, or so I've been told...
  15. Your manager is waaaaasy out of line with his comment in the first place!!! If someone did that where I work he or she would be having to deal with the HR department so fast it would make his or her head swim! Unless you are being disciplined for something that is a gross invasion of privacy and subject to discipline...
  16. Yup! Lots of wind protection on an RSV, but a tall and wide makes it even better!! Question, does she wear a full face(helmut that is)
  17. Also make sure you are using the metric version Phillips screwdriver. You need the JAS type. You can get the bits along with an impact driver from Harbor Freight I believe...
  18. Hey, bad behavior is still "behavior..."
  19. Yah! You done stole 'em! Actually the shipping charges are not that bad, I've seen lots worse. Yes, just a little tad high but...
  20. Hmmmm, what did P.T. Barnum say???
  21. Or, you could keep the trailer as a reminder of your family here at VR...
  22. Heal fast! Although I hate to hear when someone goes down, I'm glad when it's the person that went down tell us rather than someone else because it means you are OK enough to type and not in a coma or something. You're lucky it's just bruised ribs, when I went down I broke 3 of them along with a rotator cuff injury. I rode the bike home in great pain and ended up in the fetal position on the couch for days...
  23. Don't forget to cancel your room reservations for the International, etc or they will still charge you for the rooms. Sorry we won't see you this summer, but the following summer I will be retired so we can travel more. We were in the Outback Steakhouse we took you to Sunday and was thinking of you two. There was this one lady in there who even looked a little like you, same hairstyle and color, but was only using one "stick" instead of two...
  24. Soooo, this is what retired life leads to, eh?!!? Congratulations and good luck!
