  1. I have over 132,000 miles on my 02 and will be riding to Alaska next summer on it. I don't believe you have anything to worry about.
  2. I am envious! My children (37 & 33) have not seen the light and are grabbing for that financial reward "now" nad maybe the family reward "later". What has happenned to our society.
  3. Never heard of them, sorry.
  4. Why the Ultra? It has a proven short term life and can leave you without lighting. The regular Silverstar give very good lighting without the short life span. I have had my Silverstar for three years without a problem.
  5. I did not see this thread early enough, I guess. For rear lighting I use Radiantz LED and they really light up bright. I have a run/turn/brake adapter (Kuryakin) so therefore I have red turn signals an the rear with clearance and brake capability. I also put the Radiantz in my front turn signals. I also have the Diamond R light bar under the trunk.
  6. I went to my local precinct at 6:45 AM this morning. I was #27 to vote. That is a good situation since I live in a rural setting that is very conservative.
  7. :thumbsup2: I did this so long ago that I have replaced the originals due to plastic deterioration. Works as a reflector and light.
  8. Back on page one of this post (January) I said I would be trying the beads when I installed new tires. I have 9,000 miles on the tires now and have NO vibrations or other problems from the use of dyna beads. END OF MY SCIENTIFIC ANALYSIS! PS: I will use them in the future.
  9. Alright all you naysayers, read on. I have an 02 RSMV with 132,xxx miles (not km) on it. I have never replaced the mono shock, I have never had a whine, and I have never had a chirp. I try to keep 40 psi in my shock at all times, and believe that this is why I don't have any problem. I have friends with 06 & 07 RSV's with 30k-40k miles and they have not had any problems. There I said IT!
  10. Google "Hannigan Sidecars" they are very highly thought of.
  11. I have stopped what I was doing to get the prayer off by special delivery. I am truly sorry for his issue and his family's worry.
  12. I am curious if anyone went to Yamaha for warranty on this 07. Would it not be covered under the 5 yr warranty?
  13. Love those speed bleeders.
  14. Barons made "horn delete chrome cover". I have one on my 02. I bought it in 05 at a Star Days event in St. Joseph, MO. It was on the last day and was discounted down to about $75.00. The sales person told me they were discontinuing them.
  15. I have heard worse on 2 and 1/2 men.
  16. The ones you have are most likely Rivco air horns. I have them on my 02 and have had very good service with them. They have to be cleaned annually to keep them at their peak. All you do is remove them, squirt WD 40 down the horn, shake them good, drain them and put the air to them. I am always amazed at how loud they are after cleaning. The Rivco horn was the loudest available until the Stebel and to me they are as loud as the Stebel.
  17. Mike, I have the Kuryakin module on my RSMV and it works great. Been on the bike for five years now. Jim
  18. I see Ventures very frequently. Even on the highway when I am touring I see many Ventures. They are not that scarce since I see that many while cross country riding. When I rode to Omaha and then to Dallas last June, I probably saw a dozen.
  19. The only time Sylverter was on a trailer was a trip to Rogers AR for Star Days. My wife had some leg and back issues so I trailered. When we got back home the next week I swore not to do that again. That trip was 2008 and I have not done it again.
  20. I have test driven the 1800 GW on four different occassions. Love the handling, great center of gravity, fantastic creature comforts and mucho power. Buuuuttttt it hurts my knees to have my feet on the pegs. Tried a friends GW with floreboards but felt like I was getting prepped to have a baby. With all its inherent distractions the RSV still feels great to me. And at almost 65 years old and the RSMV paid for, I think I will stay with my ride. It is up over 134 K miles and has never let me down. It is like riding with a great old friend now.
  21. I bought my Bersa Thunder before the prices went high and carry it all the time. I use an ankle holster and carry it as back up. This is one slick little gun and is very accurate. It is built to do the job and is a safe carry gun. I carry a Remington R1 .45 ACP as my main weapon with cocked and locked safety, but the Bersa has been carried as prime weapon more than once since it is so concealable.
  22. Hell, I am old and slowing down also. That is why I bought a Virago today. Just wanted something for the short haul.
  23. I picked it up at 1:00 PM and have it at the house. I have taken pictures, but someone needs to remind me how to show them on a post. Exceptionally clean '89 1100 with 11,000 or so miles and great tire. I saw it last week while in Marion NC and made the deal this morning. Now how about some help with where to get engine gaurds and how to post the pix.
  24. I don't think so. Yes you increase the rpm in 5th, but fourth will do the same. I have driven my RSMV at 75-80 mph and never shift out of 4th, and never see a decrease in mpg. All I can see is a decrease in handling with the smaller tire. The leveling links were installed to improve the handling, not support a smaller tire.
  25. Man, that is bling to the max!
