I have a real problem with all "in the waistband" holsters. The time to draw is too slow. In the summer I wear a Hawian style loose shirt and a .45 Colt (1911) on my hip and a .380 in an ankle holster. In the winter I wear a shoulder holster with either the .45 or a .357 and the .380 on the ankle. On the bike I wear a TourMaster Air jacket with a .44 in the pistol pocket and the .380 on the ankle. No one ever knows that I have them. Two weeks ago while riding with friends, we were stopped by the NC Troopers for vehicle/license check. I immediately told the trooper I was carrying and he had me pull over to check my permit. The other riders were astonished that I was pulled since they had no idea. After a few minutes we were off again.

My final drive has 130,500+ miles. That should tell you something. -
front remote controller for audio/cb
Sylvester replied to Sylvester's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I opened up the front remote controller and it is mostly a sealed unit. Got no idea about how to test it. I guess if I had another controller I could use it to see if that is the problem. -
Looks to me that he is taking a smoke break. Did he have the owner's permission to smoke in the car?

front remote controller for audio/cb
Sylvester replied to Sylvester's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Split the fairing, opened the white, blue, red, yellow connectors and inserted di-electric grease, then did the two under the passenger seat. No luck! It may be the front remote controller or it may be the CB unit itself, since it works intermitent. Maybe while I am riding the CB gets a jolt and then works again. I plan on removing the controller and checking the switch. If I don't lose to many parts and I get it back together and it does't work then I will try the CB box. -
I have NEVER had a product from Diamond R that wasn't flawless with instructions. Like the boss said "they are a very class act".

Good friend called yesterday. He and his wife stopped for gas not far from home. When he got back on the RSV it sounded like a goose underneath everytime he bounce on the seat. I asked him if it felt like a pogo stick, but that wasn't the case. I told him that I was 99% sure his mono shock gave up the ghost. He is taking it to the dealer for warranty. Whatcha think?

front remote controller for audio/cb
Sylvester replied to Sylvester's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I will do that first, since I need to split the fairing for another reason. Many thanks, Goose. -
I have intermitant use of my CB since sometimes it will turn on and other times it will not. I am sure that if I open the front remote controller and clean the contacts on the CB switch it will work. Just checking with the real pros!

Thanks bro, that should do it. Appreciate the fast turn around on the pix. Looking forward to placing my order.

Wait until Bonnie finishes. Looks like lots of rain all the way up the midwest to Canada from what I saw. We have 100's here in beautiful North Carolina and 90% humidity. I worked on a project this morning at 8:00 and was glad to give up at 11:00. Too damn hot and humid.

Senility has set in. I could swear I read the buzzard post and replied. Either way the deer may have shot him for dinner! I am going to my therapist right now!

Thinking about selling my 03 RSV What do you think?
Sylvester replied to Whitlow's topic in Watering Hole
Just like brand new. But I could not insult my current bke with 130,000 miles (trouble free) and replace it. That is a great color combination. -
Hot day and volt meter reading
Sylvester replied to a topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Run LEDs and cut out most of the drain. With two 55watt pass lights and a headlight my RSMV is at 13 volts all the time (hot or cold). -
I don't use headlight modulators, and I have no problem with those that do. "That's all I have to say about that"

I hope the buzzard died in the altercation. If not it would look bad for the evening news to show the bird eating the carcass while injured. Maybe the buzzard shot the guy for dinner.

I have Geico after Progressive and now pay around $400.00/year full coverage. It was near $700 with Progressive and my primary carrier State Farm was at $1200. I will probably drop collision after this year and pay around $200.

Really looks like my 02 RSMV. I believe that water is bad for these bikes. Therefore I wash it twice a year.
