I send prayers for his speedy recovery. A good VR member and I have ordered from him more than once. I wish him no pain.

I have been getting headaches every year about this time for at least four years. I wonder if it could have anything to do with the same old speculation about the Venture's life. I could care less what Yamaha does. I ride a nine year old bike with many miles on it without ever having a breakdown. I will continue this well into the future.

I think I saw this in the 80'S on a special show on TV. Is the 65 Comet a Caliente model in a 2dr HT? That was a good looking model. It just didn't have a really good motor.

While working in my field today, one of my dogs was busy grabbing a snake and throwing it. I called her off and went to investigate. I immediately drew my ankle pistol and shot an Eastern Diamond Back Rattle snake. The dog appears fine, I guess she knows how to handle snakes.

I don't believe the current model meets the emissions guidlines. I hears that the 2010 only was allowed because they were built before 2010. I have nothing else that would say there will be another Venture.

I favor the solar charger. Your motorcycle will not have enough charging system to keep up with two batteries. -
I take the Advanced Rider Safety every two years and have for over a decade. Not for some paper that says I took it, but as a bench mark to alert me whether age is causing lack of motor skills.

Good post! I don't mention to any persons around me, but I carry (always) a .380 in an ankle holster, a boot knife, a skinning knife in my right pocket, and a .44 Charter Arms in a sholder holster or in my Tourmaster Airflow (which conveniently has a pistol pocket). I have been in law enforcement in the past and I refuse to be a victim. Enough said.

Double H Sintered PADS

I use EBC double H sintered pads and I can tell the inner rear wears more than the outer. I change the two around at every oil change to keep them wearing even. -
BURNT! clutch.. wow..

That is what I am wondering, too. The PCW directions are good and if you have a shop manual it helps, but there are still things you can screw up. -

My '02 got a new trunk because of the lack of the supports. -
Whatever I have to stay dry. One police issue (orange) breathable jacket and a pair of Hein Gerige slip one pants. I also have a pair of gator boot protectors from H/D but they don't help much if it is a hard rain. Actually none of this stuff helps much it is a hard rain.

2008 Venture performance
Sylvester replied to a topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
The RSV will do in excess of 130 mph with the rev limiter disconnected. I had mine at 140.334 mph at Charlotte Motor Speedway (Lowe's Motorspeedway now) with the time ticket and radar printout. Go for it, they are great machines. I am still riding the same bike and it now has 120,000 plus miles on it. -
:sign yeah that: Check with the locals for Blood Mountain

Yes you are over the top. Bikes get scratches and blemishes from all sorts of media. I know that once I buy a new machine (bike or 4 wheeler) that it is going down hill from new. I live with that and enjoy the time with the machine. I have a 9 year old RSV with over 120,000 miles and every time I give it a good cleaning, I see more damage. Cool your engines and realize nothing stays new forever.
