This will really date me...Cushman Metro (step through) and was hidden in my friends garage so my parents wouldn't know about it. Then a Cushman Eagle took its place. Jeez I loved to ride at 13 years old. You would never believe the number and names of bikes I have owned and all the money I would be worth...if I had kept them.

I run 7psi front and 35psi rear and ride mountain roads a lot. I need the stiff rides for this. Experiment and you will find your sweet spot.

how much air pressure for front and rear
Sylvester replied to Bwhite's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
There is a lot of opinions about zero in the rear shock. Some say that is what kills the shock and others poopoo that and say no way. I have over 116,000 miles on my 02 RSMV and still have the original rear shock and I have always had 20psi or more. I can't say anymore than that. -
I am sorry if I confused anyone, but where I come from a plate (or clutch plate) and a clutch disc are distinguisable by those names and that would be enough information. By all means, do not media blast the clutch discs although I have roughed them up with coarse sand paper to get better bite.

You can run a max of 56 psi rear and 7psi front. I run 7 in the front and 35 rear, but I ride mountain roads a lot and the stiff front and rear help the control. -
Cougar, blast all the plates or sand them on both sides.

I looked at the Flanders bars but a friend gave me the bars off his RSTD and they worked great...more rise and pull back. Plus they have the bar weights.

Motel suggestion - Lake Lure, Chimney Rock?
Sylvester replied to Mike G in SC's topic in Watering Hole
Thanks Mike. Is the munchkin feeling alright now? He had a go with it earlier and really did turn blue was what I heard. I will try to make it. Sylvester -
Who uses Speedbleeders. Do they work well?
Sylvester replied to Midnight's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have them on my calipers and clutch, and it makes everything very easy. -
Last fall I installed the PCW and new discs after 116,000 miles. I am very pleased with the results. If you have slippage replace the spring assembly. I did the total replacement because of the mileage. The V max spring really works.

Motel suggestion - Lake Lure, Chimney Rock?
Sylvester replied to Mike G in SC's topic in Watering Hole
Wish I could help, Mike, but there isn't a lot of motel space in Lake Lure. I am sure you tried the Chamber of Commerce and Google. Chimney Rock has some quaint rooms along the highway or you could try Fairview NC. Your AMIGO Jim -
PCW Clutch Kit Help
Sylvester replied to Whitlow's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
This is a very, very, very easy procedure. Don't make it complicated. -

HUHH! Does this mean more of Al Gore preaching to us?

But you enjoy riding it don't you? Custom bikes are never what they cost but that doesn't stop riders from spending their money. I have a buddy who bought a Susuki M109 for a hot rod. Now with custom paint, exhausts, raked front fork, engine mods and chrome everything including wheels it is worth less than a stock M 109. And when he enters it into bike shows he only gets "honorable mention" because someone else was more stupid and spent more money. Go figure!

Originally the passing lights were hooked to the high beam switch and the switch was thrown when passing. That was told me by my uncle who road Harleys and Indians in the forties and fifties.

What do you think the value for a 1998 Royal Star Tour Deluxe should be? I have my eyes on a very well loaded, low mileage machine that is lady ridden. I have friends who know the bike and it has not been down. It may be worthwhile to buy and sell later.

Neither does my 02, thanks to Ponch.

Why would you pay for collision on a nine year old motorcycle? I dropped mine on my 02 Venture two years ago. I keep liability and uninsured motorist but nothing else.

It is coming very soon, and I am looking forward to it like all the years in the past. :clap2::clap2:
