  1. I run D404's because they have gangster whitewalls. I am on my fourth set and although they do not provide the high mileage of Avons and Elite III's, the cost per mile is not much different. And since I have my own changer and balancer, this is not an issue. As far as handling, I am very happy with all the tires (D404) that I have run. I get good wet traction and dry pavement traction. And mine have never had a high speed whine. Now the Metzlers before Dunlops are a different situation. They howeled and had problems with the belts breaking.
  2. And if the bar owner did take his keys...he has a lawsuit for infringing on the drunks rights. There is no way of stopping a lawyer from making his money!
  3. My stock pipes were just to damn quiet. Had the BUBs on in a week after purchase. BUBs are not all that loud but have a deep resonance.
  4. All I get to follow me home is stray dogs (up to six now). Maybe a trike will be next. Very nice indeed and great color!
  5. I thought the Australians rid themselves of the Brits. All the Ole' English quotes leads me to believe the opposite. By the way, how is your riding coming along? Getting enough miles in? Remember, anytime you ride up this way, you are welcome!
  6. Don't get your shorts in a wad. Yamaha will respond and they have always done the right thing by me.
  7. Sounds like this is a female bike and is pregnant. Getting her milk ready for a healthy young Venture. Ahh, life continues!
  8. Sylvester, my 02 Midnight has 110 K plus on him and runs like new. The last bike I will ever own unless it gets totaled!
  9. Squidley is correct, I can top out my Baron's tach at approximately 7650 RPM. I seems to me that it has some more left in it but that is all I can get.
  10. With all due respect to Don, there is performance improvement through the increase in RPM limits. A buddy of mine has a stage 3 Ultra which runs pretty quick. To get him in a run I need the higher RPMs, and it does the job. Really hacks him off. Of course if we were running top end I wouldn't need the dynatech since he can't come close to the RSV top speed.
  11. And in my profile you will see a Midnight with www Dunlop 404's.
  12. My apologies! The devil made me say it!
  13. I am glad you like VR as I do. I think your mind was made up before you posted on Cruizer Cafe though. I went and read all the responses and yes one mentioned that VR and Venturers was a forum only, but I don't see where that statement makes any difference. I consider them a forum also. Another told you to check out the patch guidelines on the site, if you had you would know the answer instead of listening to some member who probably has no idea (and said he was not sure in the post) what the guidelines are. The Forum Moderator, who is a good friend of mine, told you it would not matter if it was not on the back, which is true. Three members who know their stuff told you it wasn't a problem. And finally, you said that you didn't have a STAR vest anyway. Seems to me you made much to do about nothing. One thing I have found in my many years with STAR is that it is not for everyone. If someone wants to leave, then I think it is best that they do leave.
  14. If you are a post virgin, I must be a post infant. But because of this thread I have maintained my high standards of posting to significant and mind stimulating threads...
  15. The founder of Star Touring and Riding Association had an 02 midnight called Widow. It was custom and had a factory built 1500cc engine that would really run. He never worried about 1st gen bikes. I believe he sold it but I am not sure.
  16. Or he has Stratoliners and trying to get them moved!
  17. If you are collecting for appreciation value then this is not the pistol of choice. If you just want something that is fun to shoot, then have at it. There are so many handguns that are appreciating at rapid rates, so that is where I look for to put money.
  18. I am running well over 110K on my 02 RSMV and have never had a fuel pump issue. So don't dispair because you have 25K or more.
  19. Thanks, that puts an end to my "listening to others". I have installed the Buckeye stator on a friends RSV but I have never seen the need for myself. I run heated jacket and gloves but sparingly. I have LED tail and turn and always shut off the pass lights when using the heated clothing. I also have switched the carb heaters so I can turn them off.
  20. I could be wrong, but isn't the Buckeye Performance HO stator made and sold by Rick's Electronics also? If so, they do not recommend soldering the wires from what I understand.
  21. After disconnecting the rev limiter, a RSV will hit 140+ at Lowe's Motor Speedway. I know this because I did this. Speed verified by ET and radar. That was in 2003 (sponsored by Kyle Petty), but I was not running a stock motor. I have a motor officer friend in VA. and he can hit 130 stock.
  22. I have been at it for thirty years and have a full dedicated woodworking shop. Nothing is limited to what I will work on...if it interests me. Many tables, cabinets, grandfather clocks, gun cabinets, chairs, etc. etc. have come off my assembly table. The thrill never leaves me. I do remodeling, decks, garages and some concrete work now that I am retired, but I love to get into the workshop anytime.
  23. Looks pretty and feminine
  24. In the old days, rock salt in a .410 gauge would end such shennanigans. OH C..P think I gave my age up. But that was only used as a last resort .
  25. The attire is "whatever you are comfortable with" and just show up is all that is required. This is not a club but a respect for our "fallen soldiers". You are always welcome!
