  1. If our current USA government officials keep going the way they are, you will be looking at the same situation in our 50 states.
  2. Time is coming, I feel, that a rear shock is going to be needed (what with 112,xxx miles). What are the aftermarket options?
  3. Your tires are old and brittle, wear indicaters and visual inspection mean nothing. Get rid of the tires now. Buy new tires (not Bridgestone or Metzler), enroll in ERSC (experienced rider safety course) and they will teach you to handle your bike. You can turn a Venture in a twelve to thirteen foot area if you know how.
  4. But they did get rid of the cross over pipe for the exhaust...finally!!!
  5. Really nice rig! What brand is the trailer? I love the vinyl rock shield.
  6. I have never had these whines/chirps on my 02. My friends with 05's. 06's and 08's do not have these noises. Sorry to bust your bubble. Not all Ventures have this noise.
  7. Looks to me like someone had too much time and money on his hands. :mo money:
  8. That has to be good news for you. I got the same news in 1986 after three years of chemo. Enjoy the rest of your life, I have.
  9. I had the belts break on my last set of ME880's. My RSMV got real squirrely and when I noticed the bulge in the walls, I replaced the tires. No more Metzelers for me.
  10. Don, I assume you want the "bright white" and not just any white? I have withheld doing the gauge thing since I have to replace gauges frequently on my farm tractor. If I could get them in marine grade and 1 1/2" I would do it. I went back and looked at the post by Ponch on the gauges and those Sunpro he used sure look white to me.
  11. I always like Dragnet and 77 Sunset Strip.
  12. I have Gerbing heated gloves and Tour Master heated jacket liner. That is all I need and I ride in the 20's F. Your feet stay warm inside the fairing with the engine heat. I also keep a sheepskin on the seat year around (cooler in summer and warmer in winter).
  13. Yesterday I happened by the Triumph dealer in Mathews, NC and went in to look. They had a sold Thunderbird on the floor (black) but they would not let me demo it since it was sold. The salesman asked the service manager it I could ride his and so off I went. This is a really nice bike. 1600cc vertical twin with awesome torque. It even felt good for comfort with the forward controls and floorboards. I loved everything about it except the tank mounted speedo/tach/gauges. The color was pacific blue and white which was very pretty. I have been thinking of a smaller bike for local riding and keeping the RSMV for the long haul. You never know...
  14. I am with Don on this one. Sounds like an electric device from the past that was to cure your sleeplessness.
  15. I tie to the handle bars and never on the rear.
  16. Interstate is a fine dealership and anything they sell is top shelf material. I am farther away from them (due to move to the country) and don't get in very often. I always have had a soft spot for the MM edition.
  17. You are right..."you never think it will happen to me". I had it happen to me in 1983 with a ten year old son and six year old daughter. The best defense is "keep a positive attitude". I have been cancer free for twenty six years. God bless you and your family!
  18. Like ediddy, I never tie down the rear. It never moves on my trailer. BUT I have only trailered it twice. I use the "Wheel Dock" fron chock and only tie the front wheel and handlebars.
  19. This may be the case, but mine doesn't click when I try to start it with the emergency shut off kicked in.
  20. If the passing lights are wired with the head lamp this could be your problem. They need to be on a relay. Just more to think of.
  21. Contact Chuck Cometti, CWCNM, he is in Roswell and is the closest VR assistant to you. You obviously have computer access so check his profile. His VR assistance # is 505-624-1638
  22. Yes, you can jump start the bike with another 12 volt source. You may need to let it charge up some before trying to start it. It may be your alternator or just a bad battery. I am not knowledgeable about the 1st gen., but I know a lot about the 2nd gen. having had to install a new stator.
  23. Very nice, Annie. I am happy that you are back in the saddle again! I feel like a song coming on...
  24. You need to have the steering bearings checked and packed and then reset.
  25. Funny you should mention the wear in the middle. I was looking at my front tire with my mechanic and he noticed that it (Dunlop 404) was worn more on the sides than the middle. He knows the answer...North Carolina mountains.
