  1. I have signal mirrors on my RSMV and have had them for six years. Kross Kountry was right about the visibility, I see clearer and no distortion. And contrary to saddlebum's statement, the turn signal is to the front not the rear. Mine have clearance plus turn capability. I purchased mine through JCW, they are not Kuryakin.
  2. I have a seven year old pickup, an eight year old RSV and a sixty three year old tractor. The itches are farther apart now.
  3. And when you get it out put dielectric grease on the new one before installing. Might as well do all of them with the grease.

Aaahaahhh! Now I understand. It takes pictures for my retired brain to absorb the true meaning of words. Thank you. This is very ingenious.
  5. I haven't had a Metzler on my bike for two years. Originally I loved them but on the third set the belts broke internally and I could not see the damage on the outside. I was having left turn noises, the front would drift out and it was squirrely on the straight. Had it removed and the dealer told me I was very lucky to be alive.

You all lost me on the physics of load bearing, but I am really confused about the universal joints in the picture. WHAT the...? I know you are not putting a motor on this thing.
  7. It is the trunk on the RSV that gets in the way. I use a 5X8 CarryOn trailer for all my needs. I have the swing down large mesh gate and use rails on the side to extend the gate back far enough to allow the Venture to ride on it. This has been an excellant trailer and I bought it slightly used for $500.
  8. But the supercharger makes the midnights way faster than a SKUD missile.
  9. If it is a "new" machine with the factory MCO then you will get the five year warranty.
  10. I have been with the Gaurd for a few years now. The man with the real answers is BoomerCPO, he is a dual state captain. Talk with him.
  11. I have 104,xxx on my 02 Venture; the valves have never been adjusted. My mechanic has a 99 RSV with 185,xxx miles and has checked his four times-no adjustment needed.
  12. I ordered my clearview windshield on April 28th and have not received it yet (seven weeks). I did get a e-mail saying it will arrive this week. When I ordered it they told me three to five weeks.
  13. I sure learn a lot just reading what you post! I just changed my plugs and synced the carbs last month, and they look like the ones that are of interest to this post. I put back regular NGK plugs with proper gap since the old ones lasted 24,000mi.
  14. Now, I am one of all the rest of you! Nice to be part of something so informative.
  15. Still looking for my "supporting member" status. I know you're not finished yet, but it is like a kid going to the fair. I CAN'T WAIT!!! Sorry, I need a cup of coffee.
  16. The Stratoliner is a fine machine...for those who like V-twins. I don't!!! I did not like my 99 Roadstar and the numerous Harleys I have owned. I love my 83 GW but I wore it out and got rid of it in 96. The Venture fills my needs and I have many years left in it. And for Randy's poll...I pick d and/or f
  17. The rumors started in 2005, and have been the same since. Also, the bike has been the same since. My 02 only has 104,000 miles, it was a great bike in 02 and it is a great bike in 09. It will be a great bike in 2010 or 2011, therefore whatever they come out with will have to be on the market for a while before I get an interest in it.
  18. I am assuming (from the majority of past posts) that you have pass lights on your ride. If so you need to put them on a relay. If not you have a factory defect. Nothing else I have ever heard of trashes the ingnition switch. Unless you are running multiple electrical powers off you switch.
  19. Thank you, I am a farmer again!
  20. I use the smiley that has the farmer hat and wheat straw out of the mouth, since I have a mini farm and love the country. Many times I cannot find it, and sometimes if I keep scrolling up and down it will appear. Is there some magic to the system? No smiley to post!
  21. Like Perm44 said, the rubber mallet works great. Just work around back and forth and they come off. I did as another on this forum suggested and sanded mine down and painted with satin black paint. They look great and no more flaking.
  22. Are you sure you didn't have the air go out? My Venture lost the rear shock a couple years back and I was on a pogo stick for 150 miles to get back home. It was not something your could not tell a big difference.
  23. Man, You did good!
