Jana gets to drive the new Mercury Mariner, I get the used 05 Ford Escape (both basically the same vehicle). And I have an 02 Ddoge 1500 Ram PU in the business name. We have been very pleased with the Escape/Mariner vehicles since we bought a 2000 Escape for our daughters college graduation present. She still has it with 190,000 miles.

All that work just for a few cold beers...seems logical to me!

Water temp adapter seal

I thought about just the O ring, but I was concerned that it would be cut by the edge of the aluminum head and maybe leak some time in the future. The crush washer affords protection from the O ring seating on the head. -

I can testify that this will be the last one you will need if you use the O ring. Ponch and I talked about it (his idea) and I installed it Thursday and it worked great. I already ruined two crush washers trying to get the seal, but they always deformed. The O ring acts as additional seal. I warmed Sylvester up to 210 degrees, shut him down, let him cool down some and restarted. No leak at all! Made me feel like a mekanik! -
I need something that balances first and seals second. The dyna beads are well spoken of and balance very well when used properly. I have 116,000 miles with no punctures, so I don't have the urgency to use a sealer, but if it works well as a balancer (with no wheel weights) then that is a plus.

Cougar, You can get them with an 18mm anti foul adapter or with an 18mm spark plug with the straight threads. -
But does it balance the tire, like the ad states? Since I will be installing two new tires soon, I am torn between Dyna Beads and Ride On.

I want to change the color of my black seats and back rest to a tan. There are companies that gaurantee that their color works. I don't want to remove the chrome dots (too much hassle to take off and put back on) , so do you think the dye will come off the chrome after it dries.

I always thought that they were a great idea. My friend had one on his 2000 Venture and moved it to his 06. I am surprised nobody started making something similar. Now that Ponch has the three gauge upgrade, I no longer need the pod.

I have re-read the thread and also believe that words were said in jest (everybody has a different sense of humor) and never meant as insults. I have a quick temper and have often taken humor as insult. I hope you stay with us, Oldgoat, this is a truly great site and you will be sorely missed.

Thanks guys, Your replies remind me of the junk mail I get everyday! I would gladly pay more, but Freebird has seen fit to fund this operation until he gets a stimulus from our government or...winds up in abject poverty. Looking forward to another year of great ideas and tech information!

Thanks for your suggestion and it worked great. -
I know it is time to pay up or get out, and I have no intentions of getting out. So, how do I pay? I need to get the dues paid before Obama Care has all my financial records and dis-allows my deduction for VR as "mental health" care.:whistling: Just the idea for the cassette gauges and Ponch's great kit was worth five years dues.

Sad situation . It won't be long before my beloved 02 falls into this crack. I am doing most all the work on it now, so if I am not too old to turn a wrench then I will keep it going.

I would love to take Sylvester out for some exercise, but I am trying to get the leak stopped at the #4 head where I installed the temp probe for the gauge. And I am waiting for the GE repairman to fix our oven. Maybe tomorrow!

I don't really know since I had to have a new speedometer cluster installed at 59,000 miles and still under warranty. I have 56,000 miles on the new cluster.

Several years ago, I bought a set of "chromed flat levers" from J. C. Whitney that fit the Venture. I was amazed at how comfortable they were and still are. Just an idea. -
It is amazing what sticks in the back of your mind. I got 25 and I am very impressed with that, since I skipped school a lot.

All the new Indian motorcycles have a 105 CI engine. This is not a proprietory engine but made by Indian.

Your fourth picture is the same color bike I rode, Yama Mama. I have pictures but I haven't downloaded them yet since I can't find my data cable.
