What is your mileage? I have 130,276 on my 02 Midnight and it will be good for another 130,000 miles.

2002 RSMV with 130,276 miles and running as good as ever and maybe better. Later in July I am having the seats and backrest recovered in brown leather with a new gel pad in the drivers saddle. The old gel pad is failing, since I am having tail bone problems.

I guess I have to say "why did you ask". Seems like your mind is made up. Sell the RSV and some very lucky person will have a great bike.
-
I for one will not say it is in your best interest to sell a RSV. I would sell everything but the RSV. That is my opinion and I am sticking to it! :backinmyday:

In nine years, I have only heard my fan once. That was when I left it out on the street (running) and went inside. After awhile I remembered the bike and brought it into the garage, and it was fairly hot outside at the time.

Never! The shoulder retains all the garbage that the tires kick up in the driving lanes. Just look at a highway shoulder sometime while walking. There are screws, nails, wires, glass, sharp rocks plus many more items just waiting to keep you from going any farther.

I believe the thumb nuts are a good product, but when the bike is hot I think the removal would be painful. I have a set of open/box ratchet that are stubby. I keep a 10mm in my trunk and they work quickly and keep you fingers off the engine top.

Does Tom have the raw *$$? There is edicate on all web sites and we like that here. If Freebird will refund your whopping $12.00 dues, then I think you have been served well.

Just another stupid person with a driver's license. Since I spent time in law enforcement, I have no sympathy for this.

If they put pure dino Yamalube in your bike, it is perfectly satisfactory. There are other brands and blends you don't want. I used Castrol Synthetic for a while since it met the SM grade, but I have switched to Castrol Synblend and my 02 RSMV love it. I run it every 5,000 miles.

Adding a CD Changer
Sylvester replied to MasterGuns's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Why go to the trouble? A MP3 player is much cheaper and takes up no trunk space. -
Sooo, what size did you buy? I would like to get one for my RSMV.
-
I just remove the seat and put it in the trunk with a bag of ice on it.:snow2:

Where would I go to price tires for an 09 HD Ultra Classic? I know the sizes but I don't find them at SW Moto. Does HD have a lock on these tires? 130/80B17 65H (front) 180/65B16 81H (rear) He prefers WW but either would do.

I run my tank normal and not on reserve. I go to the end bar on the gauge and then switch and start looking for a fuel station. Normally I only put in 4.8 gallons, but on my recent trip from Omaha to Dallas I hit high frontal winds. I would be on reserve in 115 miles and then I was desparate for a station since the mileage was so poor. You all do what you feel right as I do.

Help - Grease for Spline
Sylvester replied to JCB's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Moly 60 is highly overated. The stock spline grease is sufficient if you use it as per schedule. This is my opinion and many others! -
That is one thing that many forget. It needs a lot of charging over a period of time. My friend put a new battery in his 06' RSV and called me two days later and said it was dead. I told him to put it on the battery tender for the next four or five days. This did not hurt his riding since he has an 09 Indian Heritage, 09 Harley Ultra Cassic and an 05 Triumph Bonneville.

I installed the RSTD handle bars on my RSMV and there is a huge improvement in comfort and handling. And you don't need the Baron risers. I lengthened the cables by two inches but some say they didn't need to.

Comparing the Sylvania Silver Star Ultra to HID
Sylvester replied to Dave77459's topic in Watering Hole
I have been using the Sylvania Silver Star for years without regret. On a trip to Nebraska-Texas-North Carolina I ran in the wee hours of the mroning to avoid heat and I was impressed with the amount of light the bright light put out. -
Yep and they take at least 1,000 miles to get used to.
-
Everything looks ok price wise except the tire. If I paid that for a tire my dealer would install it without a labor charge. At least you got on with your trip.
