  1. Wind conditions improved. 30 million cf balloon is being laid out. Felix Baumgartner's suit up procedure is complete. Launch @ 11:15 MDT http://www.redbullstratos.com/
  2. Went out trying on cars today, thinking of this one. My daughter thinks it would suit me!
  3. On my way to Maintenance Day, my Froggtoggs jacket zipper went. Bought the rain suit over a year ago and didn't have my purchase receipt. Marcarl and a few others had a similar problem and suggested that I call customer service. A real person answered right away and a new rain suit with a much stronger zipper just arrived by mail - no hassle and no cost to me. Great customer service!
  4. Hey everyone, My son is going to be coming to Rolling Thunder with me in three weeks. He's going to start out on the bike with me, but we have a couple who are trailering down so if he gets tired, or wet, he can jump in the cage with them. Once we are in Washington though we are going to be on the bike at all times. I'm looking for a good rain suit for him to wear but have had no luck finding anything, online at least. I wear a Frog Toggs suit and wanted one of those but far as I can tell they don't make youth sizes. Do any of you have a suggestion as to where I should look for this? Of course I know it's not going to rain at all while we are down there , but you know, he just really wants a rain suit! Thanks for your help Joe
  5. Lawyer Noah Kushlefsky has filed suit in New York against Toyota Motor Company. Seems as though Mary Rivera purchased a new Lexus and parked it in her down stairs garage. According to the suit, the engine was so quiet that Mrs Rivera did not realize that the engine was still running. The following morning relatives found Mrs Rivera passed out in her upstairs bedroom and her boyfriend Ernst Codella (also a Lawyer) deceased in bed, victims of carbon monoxide posioning. The suit claims Toyota is liable because they failed to install an automatic engine shut off if the car is left unattended for some peroid of time. On the other hand; this may also prove you really can't fix stupid.
  6. THE BLONDEMORTICIAN A man who'd just died is delivered to a local mortuary wearing an expensive, expertly tailored black suit. The female blonde mortician asks the deceased's wife how she would like the body dressed. She points out that the man does look good in the black suit he is already wearing. The widow, however, says that she always thought her husband looked his best in blue, and that she wants him in a blue suit. She gives the Blonde mortician a blank check and says, 'I don't care what it costs, but please have my husband in a blue suit for the viewing.' The woman returns the next day for the wake. To her delight, she finds her husband dressed in a gorgeous blue suit with a subtle chalk stripe; the suit fits him perfectly... She says to the mortician, 'Whatever this cost, I'm very satisfied.. You did an excellent job and I'm very grateful. How much did you spend?' To her astonishment, the blonde mortician presents her with the blank check. 'There's no charge,' she says. 'No, really, I must compensate you for the cost of that exquisite blue suit!' she says. 'Honestly, ma'am,' the blonde says, 'it cost nothing. You see, a deceased gentleman of about your husband's size was brought in shortly after you left yesterday, and he was wearing an attractive blue suit. I asked his wife if she minded him going to his grave wearing a black suit instead, and she said it made no difference as long as he looked nice.' 'So I just switched the heads.' (BET YOU DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING!!!)
  7. I'm ready to look for a new rain suit. I have a set of Frogg Togg Road Toads but I don't like the pants. After wearing them a few times they seem really worn in the crotch and seat area. The jacket seems OK. I have a pair of nylon rain pants I picked up at the Bass Pro shop that I really like but I have a hole in one of the legs that I've got patched with duct tape. The things I like about these pants is that they pack up really small into their own back pocket and they are light weight. I've looked at Nelson Riggs, Tourmaster and Fieldsheer suits and they all seem to be much heavier and bulkier to pack and they seem like they would be very hot during summer showers. I stopped at a Harley shop recently and found this packable suit that seems OK but I hate the logo emblazend across the back, http://www.stpaulharley.com/Men-s-Packable-Rainsuit-98028-09VM-p/98028-09vm.htm I don't want pants with suspenders because I want to be able to throw the jacket on first quickly if I need to. What's everybody using for rain gear? Dennis
  8. i have a 98 RS that i have turned into a single seat with no saddle bags to make it look more smooth..... i still have my leather suit from when i used to race on my sport... anyone ever worn a full leather suit on a cruiser before??lol... just curious
  9. I was in the cafeteria at work today. I normally go there late so it is quiet and calm with not many people around. On the other side of the room I could overhear a conversation between one of the cafeteria managers and a customer. I was not paying close enough attention till I was snapped to attention by the comment "by the end of this year the oil in the gulf will have flowed up the Mississippi and be contaminating the shores in Wisconsin". Too which I could only think WTF!!! They then morphed the conversation to the FACT that rivers can only flow south. It is "impossible" for water to naturally flow North. On my way out the door after I finished my lunch I mentioned to the manager that water will always flow down hill regardless of which direction that is. Water does not know how to read a compass. At that same time as I mentioned this there was another customer that walked in and got all over me, because it is a FACT that water can only flow from north to south. At which point I had to RUN FOR MY LIFE. I did not post this in Jokes and Humor cuz it really did just happen!! I thought that I had a pretty good handle on this gravity thing and how it relates to water. Or am I all wet and therefore doomed to be headed south. I'm scared now. Hiding in my office with all of the lights off. OK flame suit on,,,,,,,,,or should I be wearing a wet suit.
  10. 1861.1 This has not been verified so has anyone else heard anything about it? Heads up....here's something that may involve you or someone you know...if you want to comment or follow this here's the link....http://pnwriders.com/general-discussion/108902-defective-tires-possible-recall.html Defective Tires -- Possible Recall Harley Davidson, Honda and Goodyear Dunlop should investigate a number of motorcycle crashes involving sudden deflation of Goodyear Dunlop D402 and other tires, attorney Billy Edwards said today. The tires, installed as original equipment or sold as replacement tires on touring and cruiser motorcycles, may need to be recalled, he added. Five more instances of sudden deflation of the Dunlop D402 tire have been reported to the safety website, www.UnsafeMotorCycles.com, he noted. All four incidents involved Harley Davidson Ultra Classic touring motorcycles and occurred in the last 13 months, he said. The latest incident occurred in , he said. Others have been reported in , and , he said. “We believe this is the tip of the iceberg. The defect in these tires appears to be worsening as the tires age, leading to more instances of sudden deflation and serious injury,” Edwards said. These reports join at least two lawsuits filed recently involving allegations of Goodyear Dunlop tire deflations, one in , , the other in According to the allegations described in a lawsuit in the crash, a defect in the bead seat area of the tire allowed excessive leakage of air leading to a “sudden and catastrophic deflation” of the tire. Stephen Gageby, , was killed, and his wife was seriously injured in the resulting crash, the suit says. The suit was filed in U.S. District Court, Middle District of Georgia, Athens Division,(Case no. 3:09-cv-74 ), and involved the death of a passenger Patricia Morris. Among other things, the suit alleges Harley Davidson knew it was “false and misleading” to represent that its 2007 FLHTCU and its tires were safe for carrying up to two riders weighing more than 250 pounds each, plus their cargo and motorcycle accessories. The suit (Cause No. DV-08- 480) was filed Nov. 10, 2008, in the Second Judicial District Court, . Attorneys representing the Gageby estate are Michael McKeon, with the law firm of McKeon and , PC, , , and Billy Edwards, with the Edwards Law Firm, .
  11. Hey All, I've decided it's finally time to replace my 20 year old rain suit. My wife and I are finally in a position where we can do a cross-country this year and I need to get new rain suits. Anyone got a rain suit that they're really pleased with. I don't want to spend $200-300 and not like it after the first gully-washer. Thanks Can't wait for spring!
  12. everyone is playing nice. So, will call it a night and hit the rack. Gotta make some room for the Fat man in the red suit to wander around the house. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night. See you in the morning.
