  1. For those of us on the east coast of Florida this colud be a very interesting event. http://www.ridingintohistory.org/concours/
  2. I posted this on a similar thread on another forum here on Venturerider. Needed new threads put into a set of used saddle bag side rails I bought, asked the srvice manager at the local Yamaha dealer if he could put in a Helicoil and he they do not use them , instead they use something called a Time Cert, new to me, but works well. See link http://www.timesert.com/

  4. We had Autocad for years where I work, but they switched to Solid Works, which I have not learned and they will not give me a license. They decided not to keep up the licenses for AutoCad, so I had to switch over to DraftSight, which is made by SolidWorks and works nearly identical to Autocad and it is FREE, anyone can down load it at work or at home. One bug that is common is the interface to the video card drivers is touchy, when I down loaded it to my lap top I could draw things but you could not see them. I had to go online and upgrade the driver for my video card, now it works just fine. Back to the clutch issue, I do not have a Barnett , but have read many times here and on other sites that they are sensitive to orientation, seems that just clocking it differently by one or two bolts fixes the issues that many have had with the clutch not disenaging when they pull the lever. Maybe that is the issue??
  5. I bet the tip you got for your service was PURRfect.
  6. Try this link to a post on the Delphi Royal Star Venture and Tour Deluxe forum. http://forums.delphiforums.com/vrider/messages/?start=Start+Reading+%3E%3E
  7. Jeff What type of polisher did you talk to? You may find that electropolishing cheaper that hand/machine polishing. There is place in Sanford and one in Clearwater, just Google Electropolishing in Florida. Can't hurt to ask.
  8. Be careful with those things they are addicting, like potato chips you can't have just one.
  9. Rick Thanks for the feed back glad to hear everything worked ok, glad to hear the harnesses are working so well everyone that has installed one has had similar feed back. Ride Safe
  10. Try posting this in the Gen I tech forum, There are differences between the Gen I and Gen II, you may find some there that has had similar experiences on a Gen I that could offer some additional help.
  11. All good news Jeff, keep at it, you will be good as new sooner than you think.
  12. Mike Are you certian that you have the correct model Dyna for your bike? Dyna makes models for the Venture and the original Ryal Star they are similar and maybe even have the same connectors, but are not interchangable. Just asking the obvious, in case it has been over looked.
  13. Not to far from me, let me know if want to get together.
  14. There is 3/4 of a set of hard bags on the classifed section of this site under Royal Star listing, seems he is missing one lid, but that could be a start, maybe. Also there is a set of the leather slant bags like came on the 98 to 01 Tour Classics on the same section of the classifieds. Maybe not what you are looking for??
  15. Add at least a half can of Seafoam to the fuel tank next time you fill up and run that tank out on a good hard run. Then add the second half of the can on the next fill up. When you get ready to park it for the night turn the petcock off and run it untill she dies due to fuel starvation. That may help, but if the bike has been sitting with gas in the carbs and the gas was not treated with a stabilizer, you could have a gum and varnish built up that may require a carb over haul. The Ethanol we get in the gas any more is a big contributor to carb issues on bikes that tend to sit more than they are ridden. I would continue regular Seafoam treatments for a while even if the condition initially clears up with the first two treatments.
  16. If you are going to pull it with your 2011 Venture and you get ready to make the connection to the bike's wiring harness remember my post in the classifieds, it will make things a lot easier. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3961&title=auxillary-taillight-harness&cat=7
  17. Jeff Sounds like you are doing much better, glad to hear that things are improving. Keep up with the PT but do not over do it and cause a set back. Good luck, hang in there.
  18. Got one from I guy I met at a Meet and Eat in south Florida, I emailed with him a few times on some issues, then a similar plea for help. Oh well I hope they make it home OK.
  19. It is possible that there is a short circuit on the board. Did you check the fuse that protects the lighting circuits? If it is blown, replace it and put the old bulb back in to see if it anything works. If that works look very closely at the board and the harness that goes from the plug to the board, make sure it did not get pinched under the lens cover or something. If it is the board or the cable I would try to return it to the vendor for a replacement. Got any pictures of the LED board and associated cable and plug?
  20. Rick Any posibilty that the bike was sold in California or maybe originally destined for delivery in CA? The model number will have a "C" or "CA" in it if it was. Maybe it has to do with additional emmissions controls that are reqired on CA vehicles. I tried to look ay 07 using an inspection mirror and could not locate anything like you have described , but there is a lot stuff inhibiting a decent view of that area.
  21. Yep those are stock Tour Deluxe pipes with the removable / roatatable tips. I have seen them put on a Venture with stock pipes, but be advised that the Tour Deluxe mufflers have threaded inserts in the cones on the mufflers to accept the screws that hold the tips on. For the Venture mufflers you would need to use some short stout stainless steel sheet metal screws to ensure they stay there and do not rust out.
  22. Oh yeah just ask Ruffy about that elbow grease, he just did his front forks on his 99 Venture, from the hotos they look great.
  23. Yep, been to Leesburg Bikefest many times, right in the heart of some of the better riding in central Florida. Usedcycles - Was it you that was having issues with your passing lights, I never saw any closure on that issue, did you figure it out?
  24. The city of Daytona Beach is not trying to attract the bikers anymore, both of the bike events that happen here each year have been in decline since 911. The economy has taken its toll and Rothmeyer moved his Harley dealership north to Ormond because a dispute with the city. A lot vendors and visitors spend time exclusivly in Ormond, I was out today and the crowds were very light and the vendors are down by probably a third from what they were 10 years ago. The motorcycle show at the Ocean Center was pitiful.
  25. It is so hard to lose a child, please find strength in your faith, we are so sorry fo you.
