  1. Yes there is a tech bulletin out on the 2007 Ventures, some of them have head bolts that are not torqued correctly. Normally it manifests it self as an oil leak. All you need to do is go to the dealer and ask them to check your VIN against the list on the tech bulletin. Takes about 10 minutes. According to the tech rep I talked to at BIKETOBERFEST in Daytona last week, Yamaha will not be doing a recall, because this is not a safety item. Be prepared to get some funny looks from the service manager when you first ask about this, seem they are not all up to speed on this issue, the local dealer here in Daytona looked very skeptical, but he did check and found that there was a tech bulletin and my bike was not included.
  2. Try this link to Motorcycle Cruiser magazine's technical section. http://www.motorcyclecruiser.com/tech/remove_windshield/index.html
  3. I put the shorter shield on mine also, a it more wind buffeting but really not bad, the wife noticed a bit more head buffeting also but is not bad. It is much better if you get caught in the rain, which is pretty common here in Florida. I elected to buy the shorter one so I could save the tall and put it on for winter riding. I have seen an article on cutting down the windshield, I will see if I can find it.
  4. Mark Just a confirmation post that I have your received e-mail stating you will be shipping on the 10th, I sent a few others folks I know your way I hope you were able to do business with them also. Thanks Again
  5. Try the Morgan Carbtune at this web site http://www.carbtune.com/ Very easy to use, reasonablly priced and good folks to deal with. Nothing to spill or wory about sucking up into your bike.
  6. I had mine installed bt Bushtec while they were in town for a rally. On my 98 Royal they used those pinch type taps that slice through the insulation and pinch on the conductor. The ones they use have a spade on the tap and they use a socket on the harness so if you want to remove the harness you just unplug the socket and spade leaving the spade tap on the harness. It is fully insulated so no possibility of shorting anything out. On my 07 Venture they did essentialy the same thing except they ran it through a relay package to protect the electronics on the bike from being harmed.
