  1. I believe you are off by one month!
  2. I happen to have one. It has 50k miles but never had metal to metal contact. Send me a pm and and offer.
  3. If you look on the opening page when you log in, there is a paragraph in the first box describing where all sale items are to be posted.
  4. I hope you all have a great time. I wanted to go but I have contracts with my remodeling business that need to be completed.
  5. I use the bag liners from my long since sold (thank God) 2000 HD Ultra. They fit just right.
  6. You have something wrong with air pressure or bearings. I get 10,000 miles out of D-404s easily but I keep the air at 41 front and 42 rear. Cupping is a cause of air pressure as I understand it.
  7. Thanks, I often wondered about them. I know that the European style legs down would not be of comfort to me. I need forward controls or my knees lock up. All that said I do see many of them around and I hope those who own them enjoy them as much as I enjoy my Venture.
  8. I spent nearly fifty years in heavy, civil and marine construction and now after retirement I have a remodeling business to keep me busy. I could never let my customers down and other than emergencies I would be there. I always call to make any changes. This guy is a black mark on reputable contractors.
  9. Look for cool spots...the ones that are less temperature than the surrounding air. It gets hot down south. I have spent many years in construction through TX, AR, MO and MS and I never rode my bike much there due to the work I did. I always liked Texarkana and Little Rock.
  10. I wash mine twice a year, and if I ride in the rain...even less.
  11. Hey Mike, nice to hear from you again. I love the rise and pull back on the RSTD bars. Took all the stress out of my shoulders and I ride more relaxed in my arms. They are not without some problems when mounting. I could not get the throttle cables to relax enough to fit the wider bars. I ended up having ss cables made 2" longer on throttle, brake and clutch. I only needed the throttle but went ahead and did it all. Some say they can re-route the throttle to work. The other (minor) issue is, your hands are out of the slip stream of the fairing. This means bugs will hit your nuckles and sting. I wear mesh gloves and have no problem. In the winter they will get cold but I use Gerbing gloves. Your grips are wider and this gives you much more control over turning these beasts. Let me know if you want more info. PM me!
  12. Here are a couple.
  13. You will like this on an RSV. I have had mine for a few years and will never go back. Got it from a short stature friend that needed more pull back on his RSTD. Asked him if I could buy the stock from him, but he gave it to me. Man, I love this. Just like power steering.
  14. Yes sir, you are an old fart now. Get used to it, you can make statements that would offend most people but they know that you are just an old fart and let it go.
  15. I had plurisy when I was a younger athlete at 16. I still remember the pain and the tears coming from my eyes. The next day I was much better thanks to good meds.
  16. I could do that fifty three years ago on a Honda 90 I had for moto cross. I think that but after all these years I maybe senile. It is always great to see superb riders.
  17. My good friend ordered the new E3s for his 09 Ultra Classic. The dealer won't balance them since they require 3.7 oz of weights. He called Jake Wilson and they will take them back and send a replacement set and no cost. It appears that the new tire for the HD line has had some problems. The dealer said that not only are they way out of balance but the front one is out of round. Just passing it on.
  18. As a sideline, the stock RSTD bars are great on the RSV. I got mine from a friend who needed new bars on his RSTD. Better pull back and wider stance.

  20. I am curious! I have a Show Chrome short and wide screen and have had it since the bike was new (2001). It measures 12 5/8" from the center of the chrome trim to the top. As many of you know I have ran this for most of the 143K miles on this bike. I can look over the screen easily or duck lower in the rain. I bought a Clearview XL and use it in the winter and it is a great screen for keeping the cold off. My question is "why would I want a screen that covers 8 1/2" to 13 1/2""? I love the concept and think it should be offered as a vender product, but I would love to see something taller. That way I could raise it in the storms and not have to duck and get a crick in my neck.:backinmyday: Yes I understand that if demand is great they will build it.
  21. Although there have been individuals make their own, I believe Diamond R is the only one manufacturing them. There is a lot of setup and insurance involved in selling products so I can't see many involved in this type of limited endeavor. By the way I have had Diamond R leveling links for five years or more and they work great.
  22. That is a beauty. Some things are well worth waiting for.
  23. I would love to stop in Scottsbluff, but I am not going to Cody this year. I am originally from Wahoo, NE and I hunted and fished western NE many times. I hope you get takers because the Great Plain people are the greatest in the world.
  24. You need to give more info. What kind of riding is in your future? I had a Thunderbird last year, but a very nice lady with wrap around sunglasses ran over it while turning a corner. I was parked near the intersection in a leagal parking spot. My next smaller bike will be the Triumph America, since I did not relate to the Thunderbirds handling.
  25. I have done the advanced rider course many times. I try to do it every 3 years at least. I have never had to overly slip the clutch or abuse the engine at all. I think there is another problem.
