Thanks, Joe. I did not see these and it may be that I was so busy remembering my time in Viet Nam. I see that many responded and I feel regret that I posted a second time.

Thank you Annie for the reply. I am dumbfounded that an Australian would be the only one to reply. I understand human nature, I think, but there are so many superferlous threads about meaningless things compared to a soldier that gave his life and spent forty one years without loved ones. His father and mother have departed and he had two sisters and a nephew at the ceremony. I am at a loss of words that so many members of VR.org did not respond. Many who are Vets. This man, Sgt. Donald Shue is a hero to this nation.

Barrnett SR2 Clutch Upgrade
Sylvester replied to teza51's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Do you have a friction plate on the outside of the clutch assembly? There should be a clutch plate. Only reason I ask is that I put a clutch in a buddy's RSV and he gave me the discs and plates. I did not know that he had a new set of discs and we wound up with one too many friction plates (one being the original). Same symptoms as you speak of. -
I am up to eight rescued dogs and every one is a member of the family. I put two down in the last 1.5 years and I still grieve. God love the canines and God Bless you!

Sgt 1st class Donald Shue was brought home today. Donald has spent the last 41+ years as a MIA. We provided an honor guard of nearly 2000 motorcycles today at the request of the remaining family. I am drained, my emotions have been very high all day. Having been in Viet Nam and have seen the carnage, I am proud that I could honor this hero. Rolling Thunder put on a fantastic operation and Patriot Guard was there in force. I could not tell you how many groups were there but it was awesome. I saw Nam Vets, Military Vets, Star Touring and Riding, Sons of Vets and soooo many more. The Army and Marine soldiers did a fantastic job of bringing him home and giving him the honor he deserved. In the 60's and 70's we were received as baby killers and pure trash. His home town of Concord/Kannapolis gave him the "welcome home" that all of the soldiers from Viet Nam deserved. The police and fire departments were out with all at attention and salute. This really made my love of this country come alive, God Bless the USA. I am humbled,

On my 02 RSMV it is a 6 mm. I have worked on other RSV that were 5 mm. I have no more to offer.

I am with you on this one. Also put a towel over the fender and let the light bar straddle it.

Have a gel pad installed under the seat cover and use a sheep skin. You will love it and ride for a week at a time like I do.

I have a 2002 Midnight Venture I bought in the fall of 2001. It has been the perfect bike for me and I have put 138,000 miles on it without incident. There is no current production motorcycle that I have a desire for.

Sorry to hear of your ailment. Seems to be a lot of that after 60 years of life. Hope you fair well.

Yes, Ruffy, I really do understand. After 40 years this July I REALLY UNDERSTAND. And I would not trade a moment of our life together. Somebody will have to change my diapers someday. That is when I get even!

I have a very simple need...someone to clean up the mess after me.

Clutch upgade problems??
Sylvester replied to audiolver2's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Is the clutch lever pressure high at the early stage of gripping it? Could be that the slave is needing replacement or in some instances mean nothing at all. -
Having ridden since 1959, I had an aversion to windshields. They were for the old Harley riders. In 1967 while on tour through Canada I found that the mosquitoes there were huge and numerous. I stopped at a small bike shop in Pembrooke (spelling?) Ontario. I had a 66 Triumph Bonneville and really needed relief from these bugs. The owner had an old screen which we cobbled up on my bike. I became a believer then. No more wind in my face!!!

My curiosity is peaked, what is the silver keg on the passenger seat? Nice pics.

Looks like my offer is not needed. I did not know Buddy Rich made them. I will hang onto mine.

There is an extra wire needed for the mic to work on a RSV. Years back a fellow made up mics to work on our bikes but they are no longer out there. If there are any members out there up to handling the challenge of making one, I have the original mic and patch cord. My cb quit working last year and I don't use it anymore. I want to keep this mic in case I buy a used Venture in the future.

Ya''ll should have been in Bessemer City, NC along with most of Cleveland and Gaston Counties. Really hard rain came down...some of it wet and some of it hard. Had hail damage on two vehicles. Oh well, it is spring!

Learn to watch your mileage and the gauge. When it gets to 3 bars, look for fuel. Always keep the petcock in the six o'clock position so you can switch to reserve (12 o'clock) if needed. That will give you another 20-30 miles. Remember to restore your petcock to 6 o'clock or you will run out of fuel while looking for a station.

Does 6436 get any recognition? I didn't think so. Nevertheless I feel a part of the whole.

Hit us last night around midnight. It is really hard to sleep with my wife and five large dogs in the same bed. The dogs were really freaking out over all the lightning and huge thunder.

The only difference is the color. There was one who posted that they had indeed purchased a 2011, but I don't recall who it was.
