I have looked at these for a couple years now and find the mechanics of the clutch good. I would love to not pull the lever as often as I do now. The early Cushmans and others used the same philosphy. I just haven't gotten around to buying one, yet.

I prefer to not drive at night. That being said, I like what you're coming up with.- 15 replies

I had to look at your profile to see where you lived. I assumed northern Canada, but was shocked to see PA. I get bummed out when it is in the thirties for riding.

Happy Birthday Freebird, Riverrat and Bill Ingraham
Sylvester replied to Sleeperhawks Mechanic's topic in Watering Hole
I knew that Freebirds was today since it has been on my Yahoo messages for a week, but I did not have the heart to post it. I for one have quit counting. But since the cat is out of the bag, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! -
Another Shock Thread
Sylvester replied to elmicko's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
No common thread that I know of. I keep 40# of air in the rear and have 137,500+ miles on my rear shock. Some riders have air in them and they still fail. Go figure. -
Patriot Guard Riders are going to be in a big demand now
Sylvester replied to polecat54's topic in Watering Hole
We fullfill many rides for our fallen soldiers and always need more gaurd members. Wellcome aboard. -
"Darlene" has started to groan when I first mount her
Sylvester replied to bknsaddle's topic in Watering Hole
I don't agree with the diagnosis. My shock was groaning around 28,000 miles. I took it in for service and the mechanic said it was the dust shleld rubbing on the cylinder. That was 109,500 miles ago and I have never changed the monoshock. -
I'm not sure if she is a good dog or a bad dog
Sylvester replied to Flyinfool's topic in Watering Hole
I feel she is a good un, but I train my dogs to come get me so I can arm myself with overwhelming fire power. But they do give out a lot of noise before. My three legged Chow mix will go through the door if he feels the need. Give that dog a bone for me! And a job well done. -
I second the Bersa because it fits large hands nicely. A very well made licensed copy of the Walther PPK with a fantastic safety.

I believe that it was snowing when I left Omaha in 1985! Only once since then did I get out my coal shovel to move snow, that was in December 2010.
-
It must still be cold in Omaha and you have way too much time on your hands. I appreciate your desire to have the bike look good but that is a lot of work. I for one would rather be riding and that is why I move away from Omaha. It does look better though.

The red switch on the left side throttle assembly. Now I know to check it first!

That is a nice looking Boss Hoss.

L E D Lights
Sylvester replied to Officer Dave's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
To me it doesn't matter which LED you use, they are so much brighter than incadescent bulbs. I have had my LED's on since 2003 and they still give great light to warn the cagers. -
I like it. I believe that the Venture is the only bike that fits me. I have tried the BMW's, HD's, Wings and the others without the comfort I am used to. Therefore I will be looking for a second one for my future.

I am soooo embarresed, it was the emergency switch and I had it running before the work started I must have hit it. I thank you so much Condor and SilverT. I was having a senior moment and was about to go ballistic. Started up fine and all is good. Unless my mechanic changed the fuel filter a year and a half ago, then this is the original. I put in the Purolator F100024. Last week I replaced the thermostat, hoses, o-rings and radiator cap. BTW my bike has 135,000 miles. I want to make sure that I can ride another ten years on Sylvester. In April I will put another 5K on him.
-
Because you all convinced me to change my fuel filter with this thread, I did so. Now after finding out that there was nothing wrong with the existing filter (no restriction for air flow), there is no clicking on the fuel pump and the bike will not turn over. Main fuse is OK and the ingnition fuse is OK, now where do I go?
-
I dumped 7.5 oz. in my 02 Dodge and ran it for 3,000 mi. It did wonders for the engine and it had 125,000 miles on it when I added the Seafoam.

How about the second reply to this post?????

"I am what I am and that is all that I am"
-
My '02 has 135,000 miles and I have three friends that want it, if I decide to sell. I have no intentions of selling it because I know that it has been maintained to the highest standards. I will leave in early April on a 6,000 mile ride and never think about a problem.

http://charlotte.news14.com/content/top_stories/636768/patriot-guard-member-killed-in-motorcycle-accident Seems like one wasn't enough for the cagers. This was a Patriot Gaurd rider. And there is no question of who was at fault.

www.charlotteobserver.com/2011/02/14/2062567/motorcyclist-killed-in-monroe.html Just what I did not want to read about. The weather is warm and motorcycles are out and about. Another idiot auto driver that doesn't look.
