I think that television had alot to do with the upsurge in motorcycle sales over the last several years. There were alot of shows on that made it cool to own a custom bike and as a result alot people bought them as well as alot of upstart custom bike companies were started and have since folded. I think many people bought bikes that had never ridden before (or much anyway) and found they didn't like it as much as they thought they would resulting in a nearly flooded used motorcycle market of all types. Since there were so many used bikes, not as many are buying new. Just MHO

where you headed?

Hey Jim, warm weather should be on it's way. Hope you guys had a decent trip down. How's the bike running. Last I heard from you, you were experiencing a vibration and have since gotten your synch tool. Did that help? Tracie and I rode down to Orlando in August (hot) and had a great time. Have a good time while your there and be careful. Ken aka slick97spirit

Hey Former, My brother lives in Celina (spelling) and rides with a STAR chapter. They do alot of riding and have a great time. Many in his group ride ventures. I'm not sure if any of them are members on this site, but shoot him an email and he'll be glad to let you know of any future rides. Maybe then you can get those guys to jump on here as well. #1 choice is always Holiday Inn Express for bed comfort. You can't beat them #2 would be Comfort Inn although like Freebird said, you have to be careful with them. Only stayed in a couple that were sub par. The remainder are nice. Pretty decent breakfast too.

Dwight, I may be interested in the trailer if you would sell it separately. I've sent you a pm. Let me know.

mine comes from a bike that I owned prior to the RSV MM. It was.....wait for it..... a 1997 Honda Shadow Spirit that I thought was pretty slick, therefore........

No iron butt award here. I've done a little over 7,000 since I got mine last Oct. Not that much, but they sure were fun.

Art, I can tell you that my RK's did not satisfy me as far as sound goes until I drilled out the baffles on both ends. I like them now. They sound great when you romp on it, but aren't too loud when just cruising. $75 seems a little steep to me tho. I think you can get em for alot less on ebay.

Bobby, sounds like something we could tackle some day at the shop. Might have to find us a speed bleeder and do em both. Is yours slipping or you just looking at preventative maintenance?- 21 replies

I added the deflectors prior to my trip to Florida (900 miles) and was very happy with the fact that buffeting had been drastically reduced. I consider this one of the best mods I've done on my bike.

The texas sunset was a really great photo, but the shadow pic with no hands, classic. Never would have thought of that one.

I use the slime digital and it seems to be accurate or at least consistant.

That would be "Milli" Short for Millenium edition

1. lower deflectors has made so much difference in riding comfort on mine 2. Road King mufflers (sans baffles) 3. Highway pegs 4. Extra rear running lights and turn signal led clusters.

I have found that when using headsets I have to adjust the bass and treble differently than when I'm using the bike speakers. When using the speakers, I set the treble at +5 and bass at -1. When using the headsets I set the treble at -3 and the bass at +3. This helps my ability to hear all kinds of music better. Also, when I listen to music from my IPod through the speakers, I can understand and hear it better than when listening to a powerful radio station. Hope this helps a little anyway.

Thanks Renne, it's just a matter of I didn't think, but will from now on. The mods were right in removing it & I was wrong for posting it. Simple as that.

Mine was one of the post deleted. I wanted to apologize to all who read it. I just didn't think about it going south. It won't happen again. I need to use my noggin a little more, seems like I've been nibblin at the humble pie to often here lately!

was sucked right inside of the VR's gremlin bell. He covered his ears but could not get any relief. Finally letting go, a large pothole was opened up.......
