Just wondering why some pins are green. Is there a way to choose?

One of my harness customers found a video on YOU TUBE that recommended using the Hopkins-46255-Power-Taillight-Converter for connecting a 4 pin trailer harness to the 5 wire 2nd Gen Venture system, I reviewed the video and what info I could find on that converter and recommended that he purchase that unit as it should work. He has the Hoppy now but the color codes on his Hoppy do not match what the instruction sheet I found on line. I am sending him a harness in the morning, but I not able to help him determine which wires on the Hoppy connect to which wires on the harness. If the colors matched the instructions it would be easy, but his colors are different. Has any one else used the Hoppy 46255 on a 2nd Gen? Any help is appreciated.

Anybody have a good handle on when we could experience fall colors? We had an early spring. We had a hot summer. Not much rain this year, kind of dry around here So does all this effect the fall colors? We're seeing spots of color already here and there. Want to plan a ride,,, but when?

Anyone Knows the various origional colors of the following? What are the origional colors of the MKIs? What are the origional colors of the MKIIs? -
I’m getting very close to laying down some new paint on my MKI project. I’ve been searching for ideas for weeks but I’m still not finding what I’m looking for. I’d like to see some first gen’s with something completely different like graphics, or two tones (other than factory scheme) or some strange paint technic was used like marbling or spraying thru lace, or something just wild and different. I’m just not a stock kind of guy and single colors bore me, (although that’s likely where I’ll end up with mine). I’m not real creative on my own, but I can copy other people’s ideas . I have seen Venturous’ purple flame bike, but anybody got something else to show?

Working on my letter for my up coming trip. The only thing I have to work on is the States, Both Canada & the US. I plan to paint them in, as an out line, then add the colors as I go alone

Wow!! I have lived in central Oklahoma all my life, and have never seen such beautiful fall colors as we have right now. Understand, Oklahoma, especially central Oklahoma, has never been a fall tourist destination and still may not compete with the north eastern states. But for the area the colors are the best I have ever seen. Either that or my estrogen levels are way up and I'm turning into a girl!

Just noticed that the colors section under venture history is lacking the last couple of years. It ends at 2009.

I will be in DC on business over the Columbus Day weekend. I Have three days off and what to take a road trip to see the fall colors. I will be in a rental car so bike issues are not relevent. I am thinking Penn? Any Suggestions? Thanks.

I am thinking of adding the Kuryakyn RTB module to my 2005 RSTD.... I do not have an owners manual and the one i downloaded doesn't appear to have the wire colors for the brake and turn signals on the rear... Does anyone know where I can find this information?? Thanks, Robert C. -
I know there are several here who have painted their bikes with non-stock colors or paint schemes. I can't keep track of everyone who has. It would be nice to have them all in one place. If you have repainted your bike with non-stock colors, throw a picture or two in here.

Okay you 1st Genners. A lot of you have been inquiring about the Hootie Booties. So, I thought I would just post some photos so that you can see what they look like. I can make them out of Nalgahyde (now that the season has opened on Nalgas) or real leather. I can also do custon colors if anyone is interested and you don't get way out there on the color. Standard black leather with domes are only $20.00 a set. Custom colors are $25.00 a set. Nalgahyde are $15.00 a set All the booties are felt lines to prevent scratching the fork plungers. The price includes shipping by USPS. So, if anyone else is interested, shoot me a PM.

I purchased two Nitro 1/2 helmets from Iron Pony for less than $25 each and was surprised at how closely the color matches my 2000 MM. I picked them up for protection for my grandchildren when we do short rides. Last fall I bought the Vega full face in the same color from Iron Pony and was surprised at how it matched my colors as well. They may be made by the same company. They have other colors as well. Beats not having protection for the grandkids when you can't afford expensive helmets for everyone. I went to the Cycle World Motorcycle Show yesterday in Minneapolis. The Victory display was packed, everyone was lining up to sit on several different colored and accessorized Cross Countrys. Then I went over to the Star display and saw one 2010 stock black Venture up against the wall and no one looking at it. Not much of an attempt to interest people in a new Venture. They have the parts laying around to release Ventures in several colors every year. So why don't they? I loved the 2000 red one, the 2003 two tone red/sand, etc. Harley offers several colors in all thier models, what a shame.

After installing the passing lamps on my Venture I decided I wanted some led's as well. I found some really neat ones from Joe Florida. http://ledaccentlights.net/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=36 They might be slightly more pricey than some but it seems the quality and the lifetime warranty made up my mind. Also, I got almost immediate answers to my questions thru emails. I don't know how to do a utube video so I'll just post a few pics of the basic 3 colors. The leds are remote controlled from up to 150' and have 15 different functions like strobe, multi color flash etc. some of which are probably TOTALLY illegal while running down the road.

Received my new pocket Tee shirt today. OUTSTANDING!!!! The new logo on the back really looks good. This one is black and the logo really stands out. Now to order a couple more in different colors.

I will be leaving tomorrow for the changing of colors I would like to ride withothers if possible. I will be leaving Indiana tomorrow around 3 and plan on stopping for the night and finishing the trip Wednesday. Is their anyone else going from Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky?
